Now how do I survive the terror of this video? Who has time to gear up in a suit, mask up, ducktape the house down and hide? By the time you do all that it already hit. Cooked!
When I was just a kid back in the 60s we learned in school that the safest place to be to survive a nuclear attack was under our school desk, we even had drills! Now I am old and have kids and grandkids, but not to worry, I bought desks for all of them!
No it's not, it was simply to make everybody feel better. If a nuclear blast hits within atleast a 30km radius, you are dead. If you don't believe me, look at some tests on atomcentral. No school desk will protect you from a 15kt+ nuclear blast.
Is this satire? If you want even a slim chance of surviving a nuclear blast your going to need a bunker. A desk will only save you from stuff falling from the sky. It depends on what’s around you not about what’s above you that you need to worry about
Yes amigo, I just bought an old school desk too, just in case (it still has "I love Doris Day scratched on the lid) I have also made my own tin foil hat and have bought an old tape recorder to record the sound of the ducks on my nearby pond...though why we need a duck tape I am not sure...I will ask my balloon called Gary (he knows everything) I just hope non of them zombies eat my last tin of beans.😎
If nuclear war does happen, I hope someone developes a system that can calculate the trajectory of the missile and pinpoint its exact impact point and tell the yield of the warhead it's carrying. I want to know exactly if I would make it or suffer a post-apocalyptic world.
Hi, The device you describe was invented back in the 50's. Its called a ground Zero Indicator or GZI. You could make one yourself if you are able to obtain a metal drum or bucket. you will also need an inner drum about a couple of inches less in diameter, you also need some light sensitive/photographic paper to wrap around the inner drum.. Next you drill out 1/4 inch holes in the outer bucket/drum and after the intense flash has died down, you can check the photo paper to give you an elevation from ground zero and direction (be sure to align the bucket/drum to due north with a mark/dot to give you a reasonably accurate calculation of direction. I hope this helps (I was in RAF) cheers.
Don't forget the feraday cage to protect your radio from the EMP. Would be a LOT longer than weeks to get power back. Takes a long time to make that many transformers without capacity for production 😂
@@insertuserhere1748trust me after all the bombs have been dropped people realise the lucky ones were those that died quick! If you weren’t suicidal before you will be.
They will be no law and order, food will eventually run out. The world will be nothing. This uploader may have a couple of good ideas but really 48 hours then you can go out it be a lot longer then that. There will be no army invading no one will have the means. This is mostly terrible advice. Look at what the governments have for their bunkers how thick their materials are to stopped radiation seeping in unless your very rich of course. Oh and electricity etc coming back on in a couple of weeks it will be more like months years things will never be the same again
This is all good advice, but best one would probably be, start looking for a house in some village away from big cities right now, like 20 miles away from any city minimum . You have a much better chance in a village rather than a city. They probably won't drop nuclear bombs there, so there is a decent chance you even have electricity after the bomb falls , much less radiation will hit you after too. And good chance your car wont be destroyed there too. And get manualy charged flashlight those you charge by hand, also manual battery charger will come very handy to turn on radio hear news and where to get help.
There wont be any help the whole fabric of society will break down including law and order, if you think you will be safe 20 miles away from a 750kt blast good luck you will be very disappointed.
Honestly, this is the most realistic answer. No one wants to give up their comfortable living in order to prepare for something as catastrophic as this, especially if it's not guaranteed. Really, the only people who have a good chance of surviving this are people who know how to utilize technology, have survival skills, and aren't in a 100 mile vicinity of a blast. This being, I'd see half of the US population getting wiped out. We'd be f*cked
Buy gorilla tape not duct tape. It’s stronger and in a pinch can water proof whatever you need. You can patch a window or a tarp with it and it won’t weather as bad as duct tape. For a better seal heat the tape or the surface before putting it. So the glue sticks better.
Really good info, and well presented. As a professional Survivalist myself, I never thought of wearing a helmet in anticipation of a nuclear blast. It makes sense, though. Years ago, for my wife and I, I upgraded two army surplus PASGT kevlar helmets with trauma pads and four-point chinstraps. This was originally part of a prep with plate carriers, in the event of having to evacuate, or move through a chaotic, violent environment.
One of the most important items not on the list and more important than gloves is a way to keep yourself from inhaling/ingesting the fallout dust and from it getting in your eyes. Ideally a gas mask but at least a respirator, a dust mask or even a bandana, and some goggles.
Water we can find it underground . Electricity we can get it from solar energy . Foods is the real question . All the pack food will be expired after 1/2 years and we won’t be able to plant or farm for atleast 100 years or so .
@@donnyarkay1874 not really, if properly sealed plenty of canned food can last 5+ years, keep in mind that the expiration date is usually not regarding safety only, but flavor (basically the food won’t be the same after X years, therefore that’s the date) a tad bit confusing but true Also, water might be found underground but you have to make sure it’s not infected and that you have access to it
10kt would not kill almost everyone within 3km... 1:25 The shockwave is the initial blast. 2:57 Again, conflating a single thing as two seperate things that occur at different times. The fallout is the particles. Just the most important errors.

Your comment on iodide tablets is bit ridiculous, they are sold as a supplement with no warning that if you took 2 by mistake it could kill you . Does say long term overdosing could endanger life ,very different to the dramatic scenario you painted. . You probably scared 20% of people who watched your video enough to not take tablets now. . I can vouch as a person who takes them and suffers from memory loss ,taking another same day does zero harm..
iodine is overrated, is prevents 1 type of cancer, its not protection against radioactive waves that make cellchange in the long run, its like when the russian goverment told the soldiers cleaning up at chonobyl that vodka would make them resistant against radiation. Mass between you and the radioactive particales, distance and time is what you need to survive a nuclear bomb falling close by " outside of blast radius", also 48 hours is cutting it short, i would say 7-12 unless you run out of food and or water

I'd rather be a shadow on a wall.

Learn how to remove car batteries as well and some B-tec level knowlege at least on how electricity and DC current work.
Would a Doris Day cage be any good?
48 hours is an incredible dangerous optimism.
