Amazing !!!! The skill and patients it took to manipulate stone, bone and clay into utilitarian objects. Now to be cherished as works of art. Awesome! Compared to Colonial or Civil War relics that haven't been touched by another human being in 1 to 2 hundred years is miniscule compared to 4 to 5 thousand years. What's a banner stone how did they attach the handles where's the tomahawks

Banner stones used as counterweights in theory only.
Most likely a symbol of status or something else.
Anybody that says bannerstones are atlatl weights are fishing about 3ft out of water. Would you make a winged Banner Stone and put it on a stick to throw it and break it the woods no would you make a double Crescent bannerstone know would you make a pic bannerstone to put on their know how cumbersome it would be. I throw the atlatl. It doesn't need a weight they're the only thing that might be considered an atlatl weight would be a fluted ball Banner. Banner Stones were the flags of the prehistoric culture to signify who they were. Could you imagine putting it on an atlatl stick how much pine pitch you'd have to put on that beautiful stone to make it stay in spot they didn't do that people. The Aborigines of Australia still hunt with the atlatl and they have no weights on it. The eskimos hunt whales and seals still with atlatl they have no weights on them. Several tribes of the Amazon rainforest still hunt with the atlatl and they have no weights on them either. Anybody that disbelieves try making your own and try it for yourself. If bannerstones were used on an atlatl for a hunting tool wouldn't they be quite numerous on every campsite. Or does only one person in the whole clan hunt. Just like people get arrowheads confused they're called points and projectiles the arrowhead is no bigger than the average man's thumbnail it's only been in North America for last six hundred years other than that they were darts. The correct way to identify is they are called either points or projectiles. 75% of the Flint blade that you fine are knives. It took one atlatl to kill that deer but it takes several different knives to process it just like today takes one shot to shoot the deer but three or four different knives to process it. I am a flintknapper of 27 years I also grind slates and Hard Stone's if they make it I make it. I reproduce everything the way prehistoric man did even when I drill my holes. I make flint drill bits. Nobody will ever convince me these are atlatl weights. Ask yourself this if you throw a baseball and you tie a rock on your wrist does that mean it will go further.

IN the debate of banner stones the story i listened to said they where used in the shaping of atlatl and arrow shafts....

Do you know for sure what they are , if they go on the end of a spear that spear can't be much bigger around then a pencil unless you can show me a real left over spear with that on it i think your wrong.
They go on an atlatl for a counter weight which is the object that throws the spear
the only way to get this many items is from actual mounds. but it wasnt illegal until the 90s. veryh awesome collections. id like to know if he has ever saw any giant skeletons in his explorations.

I lived in Fairfield ct. And found pipes all around but didn't know what they were so I left them thinking they were modern construction junk .
Where is this located
The white pipe in the back looks like one of mine that I used to make. If it's mine it would have a SB inside the bowl. I did miss stamping some but it looks new I would sell these as short pipes.

Those clay pipes were sold for pennies in the 1700's and 1800's the same thing is found All over Europe

I don't see how you find those Crescent whole all the ones I found a broke at the center hole and I have a half of a banner you're in an awesome place nice axes also I found a few guilford chipped axes I wouldn't mind buying one of those type like you have and they're so expensive nice collection mr. How do they know where to look to find so many in one field I've walked in lots of field that my dad plowed in North Carolina as a kid always picking up rocks and throwing them found one Arrowhead
Jerry Watts a lot of it has to do with the way farming was done back then. They used to plow fields which would dig down and turn the soil. Now they disc the fields which doesn’t really turn the soil up as much as it used to.
As old as 5000 years? They are far older than that.

does anyone else get the feeling this guy dug up alot of Indian mounds and other burial places? he seems super depressed about it and just hides all his finds like he cursed with a thousand spirits.

souleater307 May be hard to believe but 50 years later here he is! His job had him walking the fields!
Old burials are still plowed up in farm fields or construction & housing sites these days. Most mounds were leveled for farming,fill dirt or building sites years ago. Heavy equipment has no mercy on prehistoric implements, imagine what "treasures" are shattered into fragments without being noticed from the cab of a tractor, dozer, backhoe,etc.
I didn't get that impression. Most had plow dings on them. He bought a lot of them too.
