Hello good to see you been awhile . This has devistated so many . I am so sorry about this . Been watching uk farming for several years . Your series was one of the first . Ive learned alot from you folk . I t is hard work .always a challenge . Dont know what to say . So hard and sad 😢.
Lovely video and good to hear your views on this current government mess. I really hope the small farm / food producers are looked after. All best guys 🚜🇬🇧
Excellent I've missed you on this platform Seems to be the government's policy to turn the countryside into wind and solar farms, building sites for industry and housing, rewilded and allow us to be at the mercy of other country imports Where does all the other taxes go, perhaps they need to look at the top heavy civil service, NHS, government. Too many chiefs not enough Indians Your mum speaks far more sense than anyone in Westminster for sure Take care of each other Geoff
I follow "Farming Explained" who has covered this issue well. The tax assessment is capital based but the payment is paid from farm income. Utterly warped perspective.
Cassie!!! Some incredibly smart people covering the issue, I just couldn’t find much on why the land is more precious to farmers than its monetary value, which certainly feels like an important point
Sitting on the cliff edge of another global conflict, the government, in its infinite myopia, has failed to remember the lessons of WW2's rationing, threatened imports, and Dig (up the rose bushes) For Victory campaign.
In line with the long tradition of British class resentments, in-power-by-default Labour looked around and thought, "let's make the landowner class pay." They should redefine the "landowner class" as thousands-of-acres aristocrats and thousands-of-acres factory-farming corporations.
This must be fete I was only thinking a couple of days ago we have not heard from you two for months it’s great to know you are both well, however I feel for you having to put up with all the problems this Labour government is throwing at you. But be mindful you are not alone and we need you farmers every day of our lives,I know its difficult but try and keep positive and hopefully eventually common sense will prevail.
Thank you! That’s how I feel - I couldn’t think of another way of having so many incredible people, care so deeply, for such a huge part of this country.
@@flankfarm this is serious.and the public need to be aware and educated on how it will impact them if this goes through . The price and quality of food will be devastating. People really don't know . Thanks for all you have done .
Shockingly bad news Hopefully common sense will prevail As the implications scenarios Aren’t positive One being The will be a glut of land up for sale - this’ll force the market price down foreign businesses will step in and buy large percentages Take control or British farming And as a result the government won’t see the tax revenue it’s counting on Its a lose lose
Seems like the primary issue here is that farmers can't earn enough from the land to make their kids to want to be farmers. Is happening everywhere in the US as well and happened recently on my families farm. I feel like there should be an exemption for children who commit to working the land after it is handed down. If you aren't going to farm after your parents pass then it seems like land should be treated as any other form of property.
THIS is important.
Keep going please, we depend on you farmers for our future. X
This is heartbreaking 💔
Thanks for sharing Ru & Sarah- we stand with you & hope for the best outcome for future farmers ❤️💐🐄
Well said young man.
