    I don’t pretend to understand most of what you are talking about, but I was wondering if drinking too much water along with salt restriction could dilute the electrolytes in the blood as wells other fluids in the body and cause some of the problems you are talking about. I’ve noticed a trend of people drinking lots of water (upwards of 100 oz) without thinking about the minerals needed to keep that water in the body and possibly even flushing minerals out of the system.

      Absolutely! I have a very rare disease called Diabetes Insipidus or as we like to call it now, Arginine Vasopressin Deficiency. Arg Vasopressin is the hormone that tells your kidneys to hold onto sodium. I don't produce that hormone so without my replacement hormone, the kidneys would not hold onto sodium or water and I would wee myself to death basically. I have to balance carefully the amount of fluids I take in and the amount I wee out.

      as a rule of thumb. introoducing a "targeted drug" for a certain condition will, over the years, create the necessity for 2 other "targeted drugs", fighting against the "side effects" introduced by their pedecessors.
      The physiology of our body forms an intricate network of relationships. Shooting with a cannon onto a target surely will have an effect... and deranging approximately every other part of the metabolic network.
      Someone understanding physiology inevitably thinks functional and integrative (which has nothing to do with schamanism, flower power, etc). The nice thing is that with such an nuderstanding the body can be helped to rerpair itself. starting with nutrition, exercise, and careful supplementation performed as a scientific procedure.

    I do appreciate the thorough explanation, however, despite the complexity. If I don't understand the first time through, I can always re-listen, and once my mind is acclimated to the complexity and I'm sure I understand all of the words, understanding is easier.

      Losing weight isn’t the point. Losing fat is the point. Muscle gain that comes on carnivore will mute weight loss. Don’t expect weight loss until your insulin comes down and you actually start making ketones. Get a ketone meter and track glucose and ketones. Be sure your meat is fatty enough. Chuck/ribeye/80-20 beef. Eat the fat and be healthy. Chicken is too lean except for the wings.

    • @monnoo8221
      @monnoo8221 4 дні тому +1

      being insulin resistant with high BP indicates that you are near T2D. Fasting does not make much sense, or: almost none. As it has been presented on this channel in previous videos, you simply drop carb to less than 10% of your calories, retain mainly soluble fibers as carb source in your diet, meaning 0 sugar of any kind, ensure 1g protein per kg body weight, the rest from healthy fats (no seed oils), no ultraprocessed foods (no=0), and apply TrF with a 14h gap. ..and as we learnt hee: ensuring enough salt.
      Tthe result wll be that your insulin resistance will be gone within 2 months at most.

      For me, I usually take 4-5 scoops a day. I am low-carb and trail run, so the more i exercise, the more salts I need.
      I'm very insulin sensitive and don't recommend someone who may be insulin resistance to take in this much

      @@DaveIrish66how much is a “scoop”??
      The lecture implied that higher salt intake might be associated with DECREASING insulin resistance, no??

      @@jamesbattista1466 Salt removal is impaired in people with insulin resistance- hence the high blood pressure that invariably follows insulin resistance and goes away once insulin is lowered with keto/carnivore. High salt isn’t recommended for SAD diet sufferers.

    Salt to taste. If doing Low-carb, salt is your friend in the first few years. Don't blame the salt to what carbs and sugar have done.
