You didn't give the links to the tracks you used for background footage in the first bit of the video, they look interesting and the voice in my head is going mad for them! i know a few are fonteny and feldbergring but i would love to know the others!

But anyway in order we have: Wicklow mountain (for the intro among the hills), Aspertsham (german village), Kanniranni (used as a dirt road to show off the Benz Patent motor car), Brookland's oval (made by Legion), Nurburgring (1967), Napoli (1934), Deutschlandring, Fonteny (with/ without the old dirt road skin), then to show off the Voisin circuit Antoine Schmit, Le grand circuit (Lemans 67), Feldbergring, Opel Rennbahn, Donington park (1938), Longfort (1967) to show off San Sebastian, then Sitges but try to use SergioLoro's version as it's an update that came out after this video and the quality is much better! That should be all of them! As you can see I use many different circuits sometimes just for a couple shots so it takes quite a bit of work to add them all. I'll try to add download links when I have some time :p
If you liked these cars, I would also highly recommend the 1937 Grand Prix mod for the original rFactor. The Auto Union Type C from that mod is probably the most difficult car to drive in all of sim racing.
Ah, yes. Loved that one, they're my "introduction" to these cars... I remember preferring to use the Alfa Romeo 12C-36 and the Voiturette Maserati 6CM more often. And the one I hated driving is the W125, as I drive with a keyboard and that made it so difficult to drive with all its power...
So grateful to be able to enjoy these cars and track combinations! Now and then it did require a bit of mental gymnastics to get an image that would fit the historic introduction but overall we're really blessed with some some awesome content for assetto corsa!

I tried finding the san sebastian track you showed at 6:00, but it occurred to me that it looked a lot like Longford 1967 from Rfactor, is that the case or am I wrong?
The 1923 season was a bit unusual, in that 3 of the 4 "championship" races were at permanent circuits: Monza, Indy, and Sitges-Terramar. Btw, what cars are those from 1:14-1:55 or so? I think the last one may be a Mercedes -Benz W125, but as for the others, I'm not so sure. It would be really great if we could get the Benz RH, Miller 122 Special, and Alfa Romeo P1 at some stage. And yes, I know the P1 didn't race after Sivocci's crash. It should be the Fiat 805, not the 804. Is that the Naples street circuit where you first show the 1923 cars together? Yeah, I also think these cars work and look great at Deutschlandring and Fonteny. A huge thanks has to go out to Fat-Alfie for those, and other circuits as well. What course is shown during the description for the Voisin? I'm not sure where you're getting that info about the Delage 2LCV. The car finished 2-3 at the 1924 French GP, 1-2 at the 1925 French GP, and 1-2-3 at the '25 San Sebastian GP. Externally, I'd still say there are some notable differences between the 1923 Sunbeam and the 1922 Fiat 804. Also, the Fiat had an 8-cylinder engine, whereas the Sunbeam is a six. Um, San Sebastian wasn't one of the "championship" rounds, the Indy 500 was. The Monza banking, like most all those old European ovals, was paved in concrete. And it was rebuilt after the War for the 1955 season. The Fiats came 1-2 at Monza in 1923. Jimmy Murphy's Miller was 3rd. It would be great to have a proper rendition of San Sebastian for AC, not to mention Pescara, Montenero, and others. It looked like you were using Longford as a stand-in for San Sebastian there. Yes, I hope you will have more classic and vintage racing content going forward.
Hmmm Indy would be part of the championship in many ways because back then of course manufacturers would go over from one continent to the other but I considered it as being an event on its own because of different governing body (AIACR vs AAA). So yeah I guess it depends on point of view, also "power and glory" suggested the same championship order as the one I used with San Sebastian being included as it used the same rules as Monza, Sitges and Tours as well as the same governing body. Then again like I said in the video, you can't really talk about a real championship so I'm not sure if it's even relevant :p Made a mistake when adding the graphic about the Delage for sure! I meant that they only entered 1 car in 1923, good catch there! Delage is a crazy good manufacturer with great achievements wish I could go back and change that text, damn... Hm, the cars at the timestamp you mentioned looked like: Bugatti Type 51 Maserati 6CM (these two seems to be the cars I first saw in the rFactor '37 mod, the Bugatti is a later addon) Alfa Romeo 158 "Alfetta", which looked weird in what appeared to be 16" wheels. Not historically inaccurate, though, as it seems that they used 16" at Monaco in 1950, and actually used 16" rear tires in several races in 1951. And when one Alfetta started doing some historic racing in the 1990s, it was run several times in 16", like at the first Monaco Historique in 1997... And yeah, the last does look like the W125 that was part of the rFactor '37 mod...

Double clutching on gearboxes with no synchos is normal, especially for pre war cars. I play Assetto Corsa very badly and given my interest in vintage cars I usually drive them in the game. They don't feel right though. At all. I don't race vintage cars in real life but I have driven them and I am building a real one, a 1930 vintage race car. A Riley 9 Brooklands, sadly not modeled in AC. That's not finished or driven yet but from building it I can tell the models in Assetto Corsa are far too stiff. In the game the chassis barely move. You can see it in the films where the bodies aren't flexing at all. In reality these old cars lack stiffness and everything moves and twist as as you drive them. Given the soft chassis the springing is very hard with only rudimentary damping. And our modern sim steering wheels are far to to small. The steering wheel in my 1930 Riley is 18 inches across and right in your chest! I always get the impression in these games hat vintage cars are modeled the same as modern ones but with worse specs. But good film, well researched and excellently presented!
Thank you so much for the praise and valuable insight man! Sadly we are bound to the limitations of the sim itself. Assetto corsa is a 7+ years old game after all. Chassis flex is not modelled in the sim so I guess the next best thing is to make the suspension weak to recreate a somewhat similar experience. Comparing the clips of my driving with real life videos I did found the cars to behave in a similar way on the outside at least. The driving itself is far from being even remotely close to driving in real life however, but then again I don't think I would dare to push as much as they did back in the day if I could potentially risk my own life! :p I also remember Nicecuppatea (the modder of these cars) commenting about the difficulty of fitting these enormous steeringwheels you mentioned to the models in AC. It's crazy to think it was normal back then for drivers to be as close as they were to the steering wheel with their arms spread so wide. Must have been quite a workout! :D
@@BurkhartOfficial I am just thankful someone went to the trouble of doing them at all and Assetto Corsa is a very fun game. Have a look at some of the period films of Brooklands and see how bumpy the track was. Definitely hard to simulate that at home. You'd need to be bouncing out of your seat constantly!
The Monza you are using has nothing to do with the 1920s configuration. The Parabolica did not exist then, the back straight is the wrong place, as is the south banked turn. Just look at the track maps and do some research.

Yes. 1950s car is more driveable than Auto Union in rFactor, but 1937 cars so wonderful!
thats why i love assetto corsa, as a historian and gearhead these kinds of mods are my wet dream!
