What Is It Like To Drive A 'Real' Ground Effect F1 Car? - 1978 F1 Mod Assetto Corsa
In today's video we're checking out how ground effect appeared in f1. We'll be starting in the 60's with the first use of aerodynamics and Colin Chapman's genius before discovering how ground effect accidentally appeared while windtunnel testing. It's also interesting to see how drivers coped and which teams managed to adapt before jumping in the car ourselves to get to feel what ground effect must have felt like from the driver's side!

AC Vs. ACC - Ferrari 488 GT3 At Donington Park
I remember that era, is there any way they can do download to Xbox one?
hello, I am new and I would like to download this mod can you explain to me how to do it please (from France automatic translation)
But what video car race game is this?
Amazing! You learn something new everyday!
I’m honestly more confused about the rules of defending/ overtaking etiquette
Thank you so much!
thats why i love assetto corsa, as a historian and gearhead these kinds of mods are my wet dream!
I love this era of racing and this video! Love from Antwerp
Great vid. What are the next track guides planned?
What about trail breaking? You talk about straight line, but I prefer to trail brake, does that effect your racing line?
I downloaded this mod and put it in the content manager but when I raced the Fittapaldi car it said I needed the DLC even though it wasn’t the Lotus you need, the only one that works for me is the teryll
can u make a Mountain Pass Racing Line Tutorial please nobody fricking has
Just saw your channel.. Sad to see good channels dont get attention often and die after.. good luck to you
Simulation car developer don't have real engine dyno data
Great content man, that traction circle is a useful tool to picture your grip limits while racing.
Is there any software that will record and show your racing line so you can compare them?
Thanks for making these videos, I recently bought my first wheel and I have been watching your videos to learn. Subbed! BTW the track link is not working for some reason, can you please link it again? Thanks
Very good short, what you may want to mention too though is that it's not only about braking points. The virtual racing line also often teaches you incorrect lines and bad habits, so just like, never use it ahaha. If you need basics on racing lines just watch a YT tutorial
Cool story. Now switch off abs and traction control and see how it goes.
what mod are you using for the track?
The Monza you are using has nothing to do with the 1920s configuration. The Parabolica did not exist then, the back straight is the wrong place, as is the south banked turn. Just look at the track maps and do some research.
I use virtual racing line just to see when i need to brake
okay ill give this a go
I learnt just one more line, so i need try it👍 and i been racing games for 40 years and more thanks!!!
That French track is Actually Lonford, a track located in Tasmania, Australia
Great season. Great quality as there were so many World Champions that year (past or future ones): Senna, Prost, Rosberg, Piquet, Mansell. And even the second tier was impressive, Berger, Johansson, Alboreto. Have you played Automobilista 2 F1 1986 mod? I'm curious how it compares to rFactor. Cheers great video.
The download doesn't work anymore, anyone know where to find this nowadays?
Same, I'm looking too
Like the accent
I just kept the lines so I know I’m ahead of the time if it’s still red.
If I'm driving a trackni don't know I tend to put the racing line on for a few laps to get a rough idea of braking then once I can get consistent valid laps I take the racing line off and experiment
Bro the assetto corsa racing line think you’re doing 5% brakes lmao never use that garbage
I would say that the F1 franchise are the only games that nail the racing line brake zones
You also go from feeling like you are driving on rails vs you are actually driving yourself
I just set up my first rig few days ago and i turned the line back on bc it helps to have the reference and to see how tight the corner in going in but dont follow it or use it literally.
I used to use it when i was younger but once you've played enough racing games/sims you just get an intuitive feel for how quickly the car can slow down with the given tires/brakes. And how fast you can take the corner. Pretend it's real life where you could die and suddenly you can judge distance a lot better
Ye, and assetto corsa is especially bad
Well, it's the fault of the game programming. There are games with dynamic racing lines and they are way better
I’ve been playing ACC for almost a year now but I also work full time and family. Lol I’m may be in my 40’s but still act like a kid when I can. I enjoy sim racing. But pat year I finally got a dd pro and all Fanatec gear but I must admit I’m like anywhere between 5 to 10 seconds off record pace on all tracks on ACC. I am faster on gt7 but I like ACC better it seems and feels more realistic. Just wish I can get faster just takes time I guess.
The fanatec clubsport v3 pedals have that vibrator motor for throttle. Will it help me with spinning?
Whats my excuse? *flips over table*
Positioning my eyes on the apex helped me a lot! Thank u mate
Expectation: Huge engines, 200+ mph with no seatbelts, circuits with cliffs on the edge of the track Alonso: you must leave adequate territory continually, fellow racing driver Hamilton: Bono, my tyres are deceased beyond belief Leclerc: I have collided with the wall. I am quite foolish Binotto: sBinalla lol
will you still create the simracing set up video?
Random polite European telling you to "git gud"
Assetto Corsa is the laziest racing game ever and its racing line is just a jpeg on the track. Try F1 2020, 21, 22’s racing line and you’ll see how perfect it is.
You did not seriously just call Assetto Corsa the "laziest racing game" then compare it to the F1 games lmao
@@MMR_LM I did and I'm right. AC's racing lines are joke
"All the time you have to leave a space!"
That point analogy is very helpful
it's a shame that the available cars didn't have the full special trickery of the Andros cars, especially the rear wheel steering, makes them a whole other beast
Very cool and useful!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I absolutely love it!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I turned the racing lines off on all racing games I’ve played ever sense I figured out how to take corners properly bc I knew that racing line was throwing me off,and due to this I beat my friend with a stock ford focus while he was using a modified GT model C6 corvette on Monza race way
Pretty underrated.
