- Here are some simple options to deal with Elphelt's rekka, i've seen a ton of confusion and complaining (thanks reddit) on how the special works so I thought as an elphelt enjoyer i'd spread some knowledge

I do love how the solution to "How do I avoid getting combo'd infinitely by this?" is "Punch them in the face."
This will all be useful. As a Baiken main, I'm glad she's blessed with a frame 1 parry to stop her rekka nonsense.

its ok! glad you found the video helpful, elphelt can be difficult for newer players as well as some other characters but once you learn the opening sit gets easier, welcome to guilty gear!
This was something I certainly noticed and picked up on when fighting against other Elphelt players. I've tried to hit confirm into Rekka to avoid getting hit out of it when the mix starts. Though of course that sometimes can't be avoided but depends if the player is ready for it or not.
Funny enough, Baiken's Parry will completely shut down the start up of Here I go.
Thank you for making this video short. A lot of these drag on for no reason, but this summed up the entire move and its counterplay very compactly. This was incredibly helpful.
Haven't implemented this yet, but I can already tell it's more helpful than a lot of other advice I've seen.

All characters (i think, i haven't tested) can also backdash between 5H 214S, and then if they go for the low or high or shotgun followup, that can be interrupted by a throw before it hits. A throw only loses to another S reset to restart the sequence, or if the throw is out of range to hit anyway.
You cannot backdash after 2H 214S though (maybe some characters can im not sure)
You can backdash 2H 214S! I have tested it in the lab both midscreen and in the corner.

yeah its a 50/50 just raw coinflip guess high or low if you guess right can punish if they try to reset, or if u guess wrong and they try to reset just dp out of it if you have

Bro in only just played online for the first time today and was immediately met with this shit 😭
So, im a Happy main (yeah, i know 🙄), and I’ve been experimenting for like 2 hours and realized that… im FUCKED.
HC’s 6P is SO ASS that Elphelt can literally just do 214S, K, P. And my 6P gets countered, leaving me with no defensive option and she can just get back into the REKKA state immediately, turning it into a infinite loop of REKKAs.
This patch has been rough for us

Yeah if she doesn't reset but it ends combo doesn't do much damage n reset neutral

just fought against one and i couldnt slap her out. She just repeated it over and over, while i smashed the x button and never left blockstun. Does it have to be 6pto work?
You can't do it if you get hit or they use the high low again coming out of it, you can only 6p knock them out after you block a high or low and they reset unless you have dp which you can just dp whenever even if you get hit I'd recommend going into training and record the dummy to do high low on yourself so you can practice blocking

I have also spent 20 hours getting infinited by Elphelts without being able to 6P or reversal super once on the string, I do not get any of this
She has to reset again which gives you another chance to break out or she has to end it and put you back into neutral, only time you get combo by it is if they red RC a hit, so when she is in rekka really focus on timing
If your struggling and own elphelt go into training mode and change counter attack settings to 6p on hit or block so you can see the difference and how you get punished as the elphelt then copy the robot 🤖

so the solution is one of the following:
-pray she opens with 2H and 6p
-win a coinflip then 6p
-have a dp
wonderfully designed character i must say
