it went deeper and deeper that I couldn't do both methods is there a way to not knowing my dad to get the sd card out safely and easily or taking the slot apart

What i did was got two very sharp thin knives.
With the first one you grab it by the top / the higher side.
With the second one you grab it by the bottom / lower side.
Press together and pull out.
This worked for a VERY stuck card.
No sticky tape required.
+Robert Ferreira I never thought about that, but yes this would work. Unfortunately it won't work for everyone's situation as there may not be enough room to stick in two knives. Good job!

I tried doing this on my Gateway SX2851-09e's SD Card slot because the SD Card was stuck, but I put the tape in and 1. Sometimes it wouldn't go in the gap, and 2. Yes, I did push the tape down, but the SD card wasn't coming out :( But thanks for helping! I was trying to research this problem forever, but then I stumbled upon this video!
If this doesn’t work, use a very sticky tape, stick it on your SD card area or around there and press it as hard as you can’t then try and yank it out, if it doesn’t work at least you’ll be able to get some of it sticking out and then use a nail cutter to pluck it out completely.
I got a micro SD SIM card jammed inside an SD SIM slot but the scotch tape trick worked. Different problems but I hadn't thought about the scotch tape idea until I stumbled onto your video. Thanks. :)

Oh my god, *thank you!* I use those PSP memory cards in my camera (Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo) with an adaptor and it works really well. However, I got one stuck in my printer's memory card slot (not SD, there is a difference) and couldn't get it out. This method works *_REALLY WELL._*

This is incredible, my card would not come out of my chrome book for nothing. I thought the spring was broken. I tried the tape and it worked the first time. Thank you very much for your simple and informative video, and thank God for UA-cam :)

Took a few times,and I used box cutter razor to press down on the tape,but it did work It was also hard to get the card in there to stay the first time...kept coming out and would not connect, but when it did, it stayed there.
Also thought the little sliding on/off switch beneath it maybe was locking it IN or OUT...so I looked up how to use the switch to get it to spring out...and the laptop would not connect to wireless...not connected? Oh,that little switch was the WIRELESS on and off switch. Did not even ever see it. Live and learn...whew.
Glad you were able to fix the problem yourself.
But why do they get stuck? Would it be that we have used the wrong type of card in the slot? I had to use an SD card and thought the size was the same as a Memory Stick Pro so I stuck it in and then went into panic mode. Fortunately, watched your informative video, tried a couple of times and the third time used a thin piece of cardboard to push the tape against card and that worked! Many thanks for saving the day.
+TheZontania Yup, you are correct. Most of the time its using the wrong type of card the slot wasn't made to handle. Most of these all-in-one card slots work with SD, XD, and MemoryStickPro. Other versions of each may or may not fit correctly, and therefore the cards end up getting stuck.
This method doesn't work for me. My camera's SD card is physically stuck inside a HP Pavilion x360 2-in-1 which for some godawful reason doesn't have a pushbutton latch to release it even after I "safely eject" it from Win10. Tweezers don't work either. As far as I can see, no safety pin latch either
In that case, the only way to take it would be to take apart the laptop and push it out from the inside.
This video was helpful for me, I have a Nintendo 3DS and I put the wrong SD card and it got stuck, but I tryed your trick and it worked, you are a lifesaver 😀

OMG thank you. Last time I stick a memory stick in there. But my slot says MS or something and i thought it could take one :C My tape wouldn't stick to the card, so I unfolded my nail clippers and the thin top part was small enough to go in over the memory card and securely press the tape on better.

+avatanhalen12 get a flat screw driver. Put some tape at the end of the screw driver. Stick the screwdriver and tape into the small slot in the SD card adapter. Don't stick it in all the way though. and pull the card out.

+Aviskaar Kandel Sharma If it is stuck towards the bottom, then there should be enough room on the top of the card for you to stick in a blade with tape. Or tape by itself.
um how would this work with an Acer Chromebook? Or well, would it work?
the tape thing did not work buti got it out by taking a end of a plug in and putting the end down and brought it up

+Alissa Springfield if the memory card sticks out of the slot a tiny bit, you can still attempt to just pull the card out. Another trick would be to use tweezers and just pull the card out. Sounds like the spring mechanism inside the slot no longer functions, which is why it won't spring back up anymore.
MTTech I finally got it out i used a bobby pin and the slidey thing on the memory card is what was stuck and i fixed that part too YAY haha

Or you could get a screwdriver, tilt it so a corner is sticking out and pull it out manually, it's what I did.

If your "SD Card" is too big, then either your laptop card slot is not made to accept an SD card OR your "SD Card" is not an SD Card, and you may have some other memory card that's larger than an actual SD Card.

Would this work if the card was locked and got stuck? lt's not that l can't reach the card with my fingers. The card sticks out about 4mm from the laptop and l can try pulling on it easily. But l inserted the card while it was locked by accident and the gap hooked onto something in my laptop.
Sounds like your laptop ejects card by a spring. I'm assuming that typically, cards in your laptop are taken out by pushing the card in further and a spring inside the slot pushes the card back out. However, in your case, the lock slider on the side of the card caught onto something inside the slot. I would first try ejecting the card the normal way. Push the card in further and see if the spring is able to push the card back out. If not, then carefully pull the card out as this is a last option. There's nothing much to do other than opening the laptop and pushing the card out from the inside.

+AMERICAN milky WAY Any office supply store. Walmart, Target, big grocery stores, amazon. It's basically scotch magic tape / transparent office tape. Packaging tape should work also, you just got to cut it into smaller pieces.

PSP's have a spring, if the card was inserted the correct way...you should be able to remove it by pushing it in further and the spring will push it out. Cards can't be put in upside down.

what kind of memory card is it? is it an SD card, XD, or memory stick pro? Normally, the memory cards are taken out normally by pushing the card in then the spring inside the slot pushes the card out a bit. if this is not possible then you would have to force the card out by pulling it

+Rafique Khan Sounds like you need to re-install the drivers for your MemoryCard Reader. What is the make/brand and model of your laptop? it would help if you could provide the serial number as well. Usually located on the bottom of the laptop or under the battery.

How do I do this with a Microsoft laptop
I'm assuming pulling on the card didn't work? I'd suggest going to a Microsoft store to see if the technicians there are able to get it out.

is your sd card in a cartridge or did you stick the small microchip in there, if not then just press down on the sd card and it should come out

I put in my Sd card and I forgot to take it out and I accidentally pushed it too far into the wall, I looked at it and its too far pushed in. I dont really know what to do...

@@cindych5175 Yeah, that does suck. There wouldn't be a way to remove it without causing some damage to the speaker itself. Unless the speaker can be taken apart, that would be the only way I can think of.

On the left side of the phone, there should be a small hole. Your phone should've came with a tray eject tool. If you don't have one, use a small paperclip. Bend the paper clip so you can poke it into the small hole on the left side of the phone. The MicroSD card tray should pop out, pull out the tray and take the MicroSD card off the tray.
