Think they do pretty good. I think tourist will mostly be happy. I think a National will always be more critical and have the highest expectation. Good video though.
I think this is pretty inevitable because there are too many tourists in Tokyo nowadays.. but I really loved Shibuya Sky. I think it is one of the best observation spots in the world.
This place (Shibuya "Sky") is just too popular (and desirable) to avoid problems in organization and crowd control. Maybe building 3 or 4 of them might cool things down.
Shibuya "Sky" suddenly emerged and vaulted to near the top of the list of places to see and visit in Tokyo. Like the High Line in NYC. An unexpected excessive success?
Shame you had a bad experience, maybe they need to limit the numbers of people visiting, though as you say, it did not look crowded at the top. Was this a weekend evening or are these kinds of queues to be expected?
Thank you, Jake-san. My favourite observation place is the Tokyo Metro Govt Building in Shinjuku. Not only it's free, the service was also great, and they also serve good coffee and snacks. They even have some unique merchandise with reasonable price. I once visited Tokyo Tower and was disappointed also, I was expecting spectacular view with that kind of admission ticket price, but it was just a waste of money, you can get similar even better view from free observation spots.
Exactly! Tocho observation deck is great and free! The only disappointed point is to take long time for going down elevator. But other good points are worth to visit! Thank you for your comment.
You can get the tickets up to 4weeks in advance. Unfortunately I don't know what time the ticket sales will start. I recommend you to get the tickets before visiting. www.shibuya-scramble-square.com.e.apy.hp.transer.com/sky/ticket/?_ga=2.96279004.1136858248.1711593545-157611001.1711593545
@liljapan thanks for answer.I know about using web site but I can not find online starting time to sale tickets.Every time I be late and tickets be sold out. Have you time spending time with us in hidden spots on end April?
@tosabltosabl Tickets are available four weeks in advance. Starting daily at 12 a.m., midnight Japan time. I timed my log-in at midnight Japanese time. I did this twice and was able to purchase the 17:00-17:20 time slot both times. Those time slots between 16:40 and 19:00 usually sell out within 5-15 minutes.
So What happened? you did not exactly give the whole story? what did the staff tell you? did they refuse to get out of the sofa? was there a mix up? what was wrong in the system? please tell the whole story?
They didn't kick out the people who sat in your seats? Or did they give you a new seat? Did they refund you if you didn't get your seat? Seems disorganized at the top. Definitely not a fan of over crowded areas , maybe have to plan a time when it's not peak travel season and non-holiday for me to visit to have a chance to go up.
@@liljapan must have been bad to give up. Hopefully you can enjoy it one day in the future without issues once they get organized. But at least there are other things to do around Japan that is just as nice too.
Nothing changes for the better without constructive criticism Jake, if you didn’t care so much you wouldn’t speak up, maybe your video will bring about the needed change. 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm so sorry it was disappointing and made you angry. Many people recommend this place but it's nice to hear the good and the bad, especially if it's that much per person to get a sofa reservation. When we traveled last year, we went to the Tokyo City View for the Rose of Versailles exhibit and the views there were very beautiful! Especially of Tokyo Tower :) There are so many nice observation areas (free or paid) that trying a different place as a traveler is probably best :)
Thank you for your kind words 😊 Observation deck of Shibuya-sky is good, it's worth to visit! As you said, Roppongi Hills observation deck is also great, it's one of my favorite place.

That‘s a childish way of thinkin the world is only allowing positive reviews. Without critisim, nothing gets improved. I‘d rather see both pros and cons of each place to decide if its worth my time. Grow up.

Oh, maybe you're correct. Thanks for your comment!

How do you physically get there? I tried google mapping from Hachi statue but it keeps leading me underground.
It's opposite side of JR Hachi-ko entrance. Head to "Scrumble square", it's next to the JR station.
Finally, what's the problem??
Constructive Criticism is always good. Thank you for this.
Sure!

Shibuya was a old town in Tokyo, it need to renovate whole town. Shibuya Sky is one of that kind of updates 😊
Shame you had a bad experience, maybe they need to limit the numbers of people visiting, though as you say, it did not look crowded at the top. Was this a weekend evening or are these kinds of queues to be expected?
Yes, it was on Friday night. I'll try it again in near future. Thank you for your comment.
Oops I planned to go in end Nov but after hearing you I’m worried 😢 it’s a Tuesday I planned what is the difference if I only go observation deck?
Maybe my case was just a bad timing, and I visited on holiday. I hope you will have good experience on weekday.

I'm going there later today, just to shoot video of the escalator

Honestly I felt some problems before that scene, they prepared a new seat for us, but I completely disappointed and gave up to received it.

Thats unfortunate. Good to know whats good and bad!
Thank you, honestly I was scared to publish this video. Your word is worth. Thank you.

Looks like a bit of a tourist trap.
100%! I felt the staffs are not used to that operation.

We dont need these negative reviews about Japan 😂 go somewhere you like and say something nice, otherwise just 🤫
