One of the best setups I've seen! Gonna have to copy your boat but, I'm going to extend the back deck just a little for the 4 bank charger with a 101 36v trolling motor on the back! Thanks Brother, Stay Safe and GOD Bless!🙏🇺🇸
I’ve been looking at these to replace my old sea nymph that has leaks from underside corrosion. It will be used sparingly for when I’m not saltwater fishing so it seems like a good price for what I’d use it for. I have the same identical merc 25 sitting in my shed. Looks like it sits perfectly on that boat. Are you happy with the engine/boat combo? The 25 would push my 14’ to 30 mph but the hole shot was Awsome. On plane instantly
Hey boss have the same boat and really think you’ve done an amazing job on creating the deck and was wondering if maybe you could give me some pointers and possibly photos on how to put together the front deck and created the side lockers great work.
Philip Thompson around 20’ of 2x4’s. Three-quarter inch plywood sheet. L-brackets. Hinges for the compartments. Indoor/outdoor carpet. Not a lot of material.
Awesome build! I just picked up a 1542 myself and came across this video. You built a sweet rig and I think I’m going to join the bandwagon and copy it myself lol. Question, if you don’t mind me asking. How did you secure the 2x4’s to the bottom and sides of the boat? And did you use any foam? Thank you sir, hope you are well!
Leonardo Sebastian so I screwed a 2x4 1/2” down from the top of the middle bench seat. Did the same to the front bench seat. Then I ran four more 2x4’s across to each bench seat. After that I slapped some plywood on top. I did not use foam on this build. Wish I could somehow show you a better picture. Kind of hard to explain lol
BlacklabBass I think I can picture it all in the old noggin lol. Did you use any support beams under the four 2x4’s running from bench to bench? And how’s the 1/2” plywood support your weight? I’m 5’10, 190lbs so I was thinking 3/4” would be the way to go. Thanks for the reply bud and if you ever come down to Texas let me know and we’ll go catch some mondos! Lol
Leonardo Sebastian I didn’t use any supports under the 2x4’s. Just ran them across. I think I actually used 3/4” now that I think about it. I’m 6’ and 215 pounds and it’s held up great for the last 9 years lol sounds good man I’ll let you know! thanks for watching!
I’m back blacklab, lol. I got the deck built and I ran it just like yours leaving the front small bench even with the deck running back to the center bench. I just picked up a minn Kota edge foot controlled trolling motor but I’m having an issue figuring out how to bolt it down to that front bench section. How did you bolt yours down sensei?? Lol. Thanks for the help bud!

Luke Tilley thanks for watching man
Nice, simple, affordable, I'm all about it
Very nice
That is exactly how I want mine to look how did you do your frame for your front deck
Dan Johnson ran 2x4’s along the front bench seat to the bow of the boat. 4 all together, then put used brackets to put together. Thanks for watching.
nice clean, simple build
How did you get the plywood wide enough to the end of the seat?

McCuck81 yea this 25 goes great with this boat. I ran a 15 on it for years and glad I made the jump to the 25. Hole shot is great.

Would definitely send you photos just not sure how to contact you. Facebook?
BlacklabBass you have an Instagram page or what is your facebook contact?
Will MacDonald I do would rather not put my name on here tho lol what’s yours.
Is that Del Valle? I grew up on that lake
hows stability on the casting deck?
Pretty stable for this size rig. You would be surprised
how has your jon boat held up to now?
m t the bench seats are ripping from the floor of the boat in some spots, very little though. Other then that it’s held up good for how cheap it is.
Can you provide a materials list for your front deck? Thanks

BlacklabBass Thanks!
Nice looking boat. I’m considering getting one myself. How stable is this with two adults fishing?
Josh Jarrett surprisingly stable. I fish two guys over 200 pounds and a 100 dog together. It’s not bad for a 42” bottom.
Is your motor a 15 inch shaft or 20
15 inches

Does it seem stable on front deck
Mike Baker Yea it’s pretty stable on the front deck. I’m over 200 pounds and can fish fine.
Thanks
