Nowadays I am almost an adult. Already corrupted by politics and conflict.
But when I was younger I had two heroes. Dr. Wherner Von Braun and the man who came from nothing and conquered the heavens - Sergey Korolyov. And my favourite movie was the 4 part BBC docudrama “Space Race”, which was about my two heroes.
And of course, at my grandmothers house, in front of the computer was a big portrait of grinning Yurachka. And my other grandmother used to make paper models of my favourite spacecraft.
It’s rather sad that space, as we imagine it, will still be out of reach for a while. To conquer the heavens we’d need to work together as one and that rarely happens these days. And too often that dream is used by powerful men to promote either an ideology, or to use its products as weapons of war, sometimes for horrendous regimes.
Not sure if we’ll ever see a world without that. Not sure if we will ever be without that. But we can dream.
Thank you, Lew. For taking me down a memory lane.

I saw this first yesterday, after I had finished a long day of talking with my online friends. It is the last time I talked to them for now, as in a few days I am going to the Israeli Defense Forces, for my mandatory conscription service. I am going into war. This had many grim feelings, of me going into an unscheduled war, and yet this song embodies the good feelings I have, for the future I may have, as I will try to survive this war, and go into real adulthood, and later on fulfill my dreams. It feels so fitting for me right now, as I am going to fly off into my own space, which is the future.

Объективно подумай, страна (СССР) Со всеми её косяками, да, но была во многом успешна, особенно в космонавтике. И мы берем 1961 год 12 апреля, день триумфа советской науки и инженерии. Вообще эту дату лично я ставлю наравне с 9 мая 1945 года. А сейчас посмотрим, что творится в границах бывшей СССР?: Междоусобица, война и разруха. Часть республик вообще в НАТО и ЕС. В России правят новиопы и олигархи, которые по тупости и жадности начали войну с Украиной (Вчерашней братской республикой, т.к. Беларусь, Украина и Россия самые близкие во всех отношениях страны СНГ) Проблема мигрантов, коррупции, неэффективности, кумовства и т.п. Все это превалирует в России (правопреемнице СССР). Так вот, теперь мой вопрос: Где я неправ? Согласен, во всем снг пздц, но в России прям упадок страшный и самый настоящий. Очень грустно это видеть, как человеку, который 22 года прожил в Санкт-Петербурге и считающий себя русским, любящим Россию и её культуру.
@@user-dt9fh9hj3v как житель Беларуси скажу что в России не упадок, а середнячок ещё(говорю Со слов друга что переехал в Питер уже как пару лет), деньги воруют почти везде, просто этого не афишируют так безнаказанно как в РФ (чего стоит новость о сумке денег затраченных на смену дизайн купюры). То что происходит сейчас в плане междоусобицы если говорить про Украину, то прости конечно, но вина всецело правительства Украины и результат военных преступлений их армии. (Рекомендую ознакомится с творчеством Grishanov-а), а если вы про то что сейчас происходит в Махачкале, ну свобода в голову ударила, слишком уж стараются уцепиться за единство народов, в иной стране уже бы подавили. Я видел эти фото. Я с тобой полность согласен по поводу охуевшести власти, но винить во все на свете Россию тоже такое себе.

earth is flat as shit 🤣, do i doubt yuri gagarin went thousands of feet up into the sky? Absolutely not. But the idea of space, planets all very fake. All rockets curve when they reach a certain point. Yuri Gagarins rocket did the same thing, thats why he had to jump out and do an ermegency parachute. I love star wars and these ideas that space exists, but it really doesnt. We live in a far more terrifying world where God exists. I wish we just spamed in out of nowhere in a random floating cartoon ball, no different to a bunch of cartoon balls, and we dont have consequences after we die.
