The story gets even better. Theres 2 more movies, even though only downfall I think is good and the games. Especially 1-2. including the story of 3 its great
Duskbringer Gabe Weller and Lexine. They escaped with a third person, but on the way to Tiedmonn station, he died. Gabe later died sacrificing himself for Lexine. As for Lexine, her fate is unknown. If you played Dead Space Extraction or Dead Space 2 severed you would know this
The part where the Necromorphs came to life and started the massacre is a straight-up nightmare. Everything was already slowly going downhill but now there’s nowehere to go, everyone’s being slaughtered and even going to space isn’t an option. Everyone’s doomed.
This is incredibly well done. The art style is unsettling, the motion (the little that there is) gives it some amount of energy, the voice acting is decent, and some of the sound effects are downright disturbing and in line with what one would hear while playing the games. I swear, this is superior the two animated films that came out based on the franchise. This gave me the chills, and provided a satisfying glimpse into what occurred on the colony.

Micheal Altman is actually against unitology.. at least he would be if he wasn't killed by the creators of unitology before they had made unitology and used his death as the jump start for their messed up religion.
The sad thing is that all the surviving escapees of Aegis 7 would have eventually been killed anyway. Ripped apart along with those of the 2nd outbreak on the Ishimura..
What I don’t get is why none of the colonists have personal ships with drive capabilities. Downfall had a miner that escaped from the colony using one, extraction on the Wii had a scientist’s personal shuttle, Dr. Kyne’s shuttle is literally how Isaac survives the first game, and even the Kellion is pretty small for mounting a drive powerful enough to get all the way out in such a remote system. So why do they all rely on just the big shuttles instead of smaller personal ones? At least as a last resort? In Star Wars owning a space ship is more like owning a car than a private jet, and again, the fact that random miners and scientists can own their own ships means they can’t be that expensive in the dead space universe.
@@wolftamer5463 Technically they are. being a miner doesn't pay enough for nice expensive things (as you have seen isaac and carver's apartment in ds3) you make the bare minimum let alone issac being an engineer. the reason why scientists, colony managers and captains have their own shuttles is because they are paid more. the cec pays based on the position and/or the skill set of the person. i.e. nicole was the head doctor in the medical facility her skills relied only helping people whereas kyne also being in the medical field worked with artifacts psychology and archeology. so kyne has both nicole's job, tom welland and a archeologist.
Yes but it is confirmed that some of humanity survives. They had plans made for dead space 4 which would of involved open exploration and resource management on a spaceship, surviving day to day. Most of humanity is dead but some survived.
This game, coupled with this great motion comic promotion of it, was so fun & fresh at the time it's hard to believe Electronic Arts were the ones behind it.
If I remember correctly, that gear they're wearing is the mining gear; you even find Necromorphs in the first game dressed similarly. They really were just walking about in jumpsuits & regular gasmasks when on the planet's surface, instead of being fully rigged up like Isaac was.
Because Isaac is a fancy highly paid engineer and does more dangerous work than planet cracking when it come to direct contact with danger. Planet crackers just go out to survey and set up equipment

These people are pretty chilled out considering they're getting chased around by horrific zombies They're literally joking around making quips while people get eviscerated
Dead Space has always had a slight Evil Dead vibe to it. (Take a this moment from the Martyr novel Altman (a scientist who has spent the whole novel acting like a scientist would in a necro outbreak) decides that he's not gonna take anymore, (it's time for the melon farmer to pay the ferry man) he then straps a chainsaw to his back hops in a speed boat leaving this kid on the dock watching him go like "Wow, what a guy.") It's not intrusive to the seriousness of the rest of the plot but it's there.
I can see the SCP foundation placing the marker in some kind of special room where the signal can't get out, since it makes everybody go insane with dementia if you are near it.
Its nature is pretty anomalous, but because it’s an original IP with copyright protecting it, it’d never be an SCP. But if it were...could the foundation do a better job at containing the Marker’s effects & outbreaks?
If they gave more time or budget to something like this, it could have been stellar. There's some very well drawn scenes and some smartly done voice acting and dialog, but a lot of it falls flat due to the sketchy animation style. Well made for a 2 man team, but if it had the production value of Halo's "mona lisa," it could have been incredible. regardless, I really enjoyed the motion comic, and I was pleased with it's inclusion in the very underrated "extraction." If only they cut the franchise at 2. The ds1, 2, extraction, and the iphone game were all great, and a lot of the spin-off media is very good.
Ethan Evenson dead space in general is a very under appreciated and amazing franchise. as people have said in these very comments, it's comparable to aliens in terms of quality and overall universe setting and whatnot. it's just too perfect.
Ethan Evenson Don't try to discredit 3 when you have no idea how DS1 and 2 predicated DS3. Especially with the logs in 1 and the marker in 2. What it did to the necromorphs which initiated a convergence event and flung them into the sky. Play 3. And actually the read the logs and etc. or play coop while you at it as carver you get the hallucination treatment.
Dead In Space I've played 3 4 times. It's 'aight, but not nearly as good as 1 or 2 or even the spinoffs. Carver's hallucinations were neat(especially in coop), but those were already in extraction and the iphone game.
Ethan Evenson Yeah I know that but it was in a solo experience. And t fit perfectly well when you saw your partner or yourself going nuts. And if you ever played the awakened DLC for DS3 on coop. You'll think twice about what you said. It was was awesome.
Dead In Space awakened was okay, i'd even say it was exceptional for a dlc, but nothing is going to mend the experience of having having ea try to sell me micro-transactions for guns in game, and turn a horror action game into a gears of war coop game. if the actual game was awakened, it would have probably been the second best dead space game. However, awakened isn't on the disc. It's like how minerva's den is a better game than bioshock 2. It makes no sense to then say bioshock 2 is incredible because of minerva's den.
In the remake, you can find the audio log from Abraham Numaan, a real treat for us long-time fans. He talks about the ships crashing back down on the crowd of Aegis-7, seen here. There's also a text log from Security chief Vincent (Of DS: Downfall); meant for Gabriel Weller (Of Dead Space: Extraction + DS2 the DLC: SEVERED), giving note to retrieve the bodies from the mass suicide in the square. Good Stuff!
Weird how in the beginning they see a necromorph like the most disturbing things you can see and they all just brush it off and hope it doesn’t come back.
I like the messy style of Ben Templesmith. It makes scenes of intense violence and gore so much more impactful. He did work of the 30 Days of Night comics, as well.

i guess this make you want to play the games

Well guess what is coming back and the remake comes out this Friday 👏👏👏
Deadspace remake may be one of the best remakes of all time. Srsly, you could tell the devs cared about the game. Absolutely worth a play.
Spoiler... Unless you played the game.
...They're all gonna die.
Duskbringer 2 people escaped
...Who?
Duskbringer Gabe Weller and Lexine. They escaped with a third person, but on the way to Tiedmonn station, he died. Gabe later died sacrificing himself for Lexine. As for Lexine, her fate is unknown. If you played Dead Space Extraction or Dead Space 2 severed you would know this
Duskbringer XD
Isaac and Carver, they're still alive though. They arrived in earth just to see it being surrounded by moons lmao.
Eh'... I think downfall has the better presentation, but its also the other half of the story so it sits at an even point imo
Dead Space scratched the itch of survival horror fans. Especially the first one. The second game had a good balance of action and horror. The 3rd was good, but not great.
Adrian Channelle for the meddling EA did on the third it was actually pretty decent
MrTHEMONEEMAKER gotta admit the weapon making in DS3 was fun
Oh ya making your own weapons is creative and fun but the stat bars were so stupid in that you couldn't tell exactly how much of a difference your upgrades did or what the !@#$ing starting stats were so you had to wing it

The 3rd became a generic FPS with micro transactions
The game Fear did a better job
3 would have been better if you could play as either Issac or Carver, then keep the horror in space ships snd dark corners, then action whenever the bosses arrive

I’ve played and finished Dead Space yesterday last night, and it’s still one of the best survival horror games ever made.
Now I am rewatching this comic for the millionth time, and it’s never gets boring. EA did a whole lot marketing for this game and turn it into a franchise.
This animated comic is one of my favourite parts of Dead Space. I wish they'd make a prequel game or movie based on this storyline.
partially the case in Extraction
Resident Evil 2 was my favorite because of the atmosphere and music. Dead Space still makes me jump. Playing through it again.

Western Morris It was all because Carthusia...Dam psycho. The second a bunch of people kill themselve for some deity I'd be getting the hell out a dodge.....
@@MrRepoman197 Carthusia is precisely the reason why I’m so in love with the policy of separation of Church from State. @TheCorrodedMan Seperation of church and state is meant to keep the government out of religion, not the other way around. Asking a religious person to keep their values out of their political decisions is impossible precisely because their views are based on religion.
DS1 had the best marketing ive ever seen for a new IP. This, the animated movie, and the ARG no known survivors just hyped the lore and atmosphere of this game to another level
It was insane and all the products were decent and age well or the concepts. That era in gaming was like cartoons in the 90s.

@@Cerberusx32That was the double, if not triple tap.

@@Predatornc1 "Yes but it is confirmed that some of humanity survives." For how long? It is only a matter of time.
This game, coupled with this great motion comic promotion of it, was so fun & fresh at the time it's hard to believe Electronic Arts were the ones behind it.
Why the hell did the people who found the marker not have their miner's rigs?
If I remember correctly, that gear they're wearing is the mining gear; you even find Necromorphs in the first game dressed similarly.
They really were just walking about in jumpsuits & regular gasmasks when on the planet's surface, instead of being fully rigged up like Isaac was.
Because Isaac is a fancy highly paid engineer and does more dangerous work than planet cracking when it come to direct contact with danger. Planet crackers just go out to survey and set up equipment

I love Dead Space! :)
This franchise was so freaking amazing. I wish they were going to make more. So much promise.
This reminds me of the motion comic film HALO: THE MONA LISA, set some time after Halo 1.
Good Stuff!
