If Russ' squat had not been overturned, Jurins would have just full-sent 15-20kg more on deadlifts and probably would have pulled it.
It was 11kg more, Russ also said that Jurins would’ve won regardless

Russ needs to work on his bench he's been at 405-415 for like 2-3 years now.
The weight cut seems to drain him quite significantly from his top end strength. Not sure how much he can add to his total at 83.
Have to hop on the juice for that to happen. Natural strength has its limits.

Worlds is a joke regardless of who won. Allowing two different styles of deadlift 2 count for the "same lift" is not legitimate. They axed his squat but allow shit benches and various "deadlifts"; its as broken as American politics

nope, some people have a win at all cost and will use a 1 inch range of motion bench if they can and pull sumo. some people won't use those "exploits" because they want to win but still hold themselves to higher standards. Not everyone would do a 1 inch bench even if they can get an absurd arch, and not everyone would pull sumo just to get a few more kilos.
@reggie7716 speak for yourself lol. Anyone even remotely close to competing at sheffield already understands that powerlifting is a sport first - they lift however is strongest to them. Learning to super arch and learning to pull sumo are skills in and of themselves.
@@reggie7716cailer woolam pulls conv for training but pulls sumo in competition. John haack Squats high bar because he just feels stronger (he is on record saying that somewhere I can't remember). Noriega arches within the rules of his fed because it's stronger for him. It's all individual.
@@xanderpauls Sean Noriega is on record in a video with Jonnie Candito saying that the high arch, short ROM is an exploit in power lifiting that should be changed, (even though he uses it) sean uses an extreme arch because it is allowed and helps his total but he is open about what it is, an exploit of the rules to game the system.
@@reggie7716 yes and you're right, but does he go out of his way to reduce his arch if it's legal? No. Because at that level of competition, that's stupid. Oddly enough, you can play by the rules while not liking the rules. It's part of every sport (for better or for worse)
