Nothing about his life resembles “work”. He has built a life around passion and due to that, I’m certain he hasn’t worked even one day in many years. He has the life that people strive for. There are no excuses.... if you want that life, go out and get it! If you don’t enjoy your life or what you’re doing, do something else!

med ben I’ll agree that some is luck, but being determined counts for a lot. This is coming from a kid that grew up dirt poor in Flint, MI in the early 80’s. Mother was on welfare and government assistance raised me for most of my childhood. At this point in my life, I’m successful, I make a very good 6 figure salary and have definitely overcompensated with toys and cars and such, but none of that would have been possible if I didn’t work hard. I didn’t fall into any luck and no one handed me anything. I studied hard, I didn’t mess around and I remained focused on what I wanted. Growing up where I did, people don’t get out. They get felonies and get addicted to drugs or killed. So I went out and created the life I wanted. All of my life I heard “we can’t afford” and my goal was to never utter the phrase “I can’t afford”... within reason of course. I could buy a Lamborghini right now if I wanted to. I don’t exactly have FU money, but I have “I’m happy” money and a career that I enjoy. I have all of that because I went out there, didn’t take no for an answer and worked my ass off.

Alan Garcia initially I joined the Army out of high school as I didn’t have the money to go to college. So while I was in the Army I took advantage of all of the education benefits and went to college for free. I didn’t get out of the Army until I had my degree. Once I got out I went to work for a military defense company. My military experience helped me get the job. From there I just climbed the corporate ladder. The Army owed me $80k for college once I got out for my GI Bill. I used that to get my Masters degree. After nearly 16 years I’m a Senior Director for an aerospace company.

Wow man, you get up at 5 AM work basically non stop until 5 PM, then you play with your children until they fall asleep and then you work through the night to get even more work done. Huge respect, you are really hard working and you really deserve your success. You are the living proof that with enough hard work you can achieve your dreams. You are trully a role model for me!

@Poop Shoot Assuming you mean jobs like builder, mineworker etc. There is always two sides to the coin. Sure, having to work hard physically is harsh but at the end of the day you go get to go home, forget about work and relax. A job like real estate might be less exhausting physically but it can really break you down mentally. Especially when you're constantly confronted with huge risks that can cost you everything you've got. It keeps you busy 24/7. To back this up: Suicide and depression rates are way way higher for men with a well paid ''office'' job. So I don't think your statement here is legit my friend.

He is working hard, but because he is so smart he does not need to do 'physical' work to achieve his goals. how many of us can be awake at 4am and work til the night while sleeping in a $30m mansion. You can see he loves what he does, and he seems like a kind of guy you would want to work for or be in business with.
