Christie Allen, her voice just blew me away as a 17 year old in 79. I only now realizsd her 2 brothers were musicians also. "Falling in love" speaks of a puristic, innocent time where the trappings of consumerism and toxic masculinity & feminism just weren't all pervasive. We live now in a period censoriousness and cancel culture with movements determine to dissolve the best of our history in Australia leaving us with a society baron of peoples culture and insight of that which enriches us albeit to the frowning of the politically correct sector with all the accusations, questions but not an answer, Geffory Rush is a testament of this toxic sickness that has taken hold in Australia. I love women and femininity, respect musicians and actors alike for they are the poets and playwrites for our families and loved ones to recall richer times. To Christies family, thank you for your craft she is a sparkling star on a dark night. Remembered. Cheers John, Brisbane

Here's an American guy's reaction. I only first heard of Christie Allen's great songs through youtube. I had not heard of Geffory Rush. I also miss puristic innocent times. I also am against toxic masculinity. But real feminism is just about women's rights and equality, not hating men. It's not against femininity. I don't know why you lump those two things together. I believe to really love women includes letting them be their real selves with always fair treatment. I respect musicians and actors, poets and playwrites, too. For your intended meaning, "baron" should be spelled "barren." Rest In Peace Christie Allen, Judith Durham and Olivia Newton-John. Stay safe, John.

I'm 53 years old. I had the biggest crush on Christie Allen when I was 16. I used to ice skate to HE'S MY NUMBER ONE. Brilliant memories. Thanks Christie. XO

I can imagine you do. When she was briefly at the top of her game, she always struck me as such a down to earth person, with no airs, like so many divas. How great we can still listen to her music.

I saw 1962..... My brother was born in '62 also.....he had this cassette Magic Rhythm and I remember he used to play this album in his Valiant Charger on his L plates in 1979....he had bought it for his girlfriend who was a Christie Allen fan and when they went separate ways he bought himself the tape version and so it brings back memories ....he was saddened by Christie Allen's passing in 2008. Eighteen months later he succumbed to cancer at the age of 48. Christie Allen was a unique talent that holds a special memory in my heart

I just helped a girl start her car. It had a problem with something linked to the battery. It is touching to hear this song following this. The acr finally started and it was worth the 40 mins spent diagonising the fault. Christie Allen was the most underated artists the last last few decades.
