California King Snakes - Adults and our first Babies (Beautiful Animals)

- This has been a hell of a year for us, at Safari Reptiles. Fourteen ball python clutches, cornsnake clutches, rhino ratsnakes, cave dwelling ratsnakes, chameleons and a ton of geckos.
Here's the latest babies to have hatched out, Californian Kingsnakes. The bulk of them are high white but we did end up with quite the array of pattern variations. These animals and many more will soon be ready for sale on our facebook page.

Lmao using a hook for kingsnakes 😂
Ya never can be too careful... I chased a rat snake out of my yard with a weed eater before I knew about snakes. lol
I love them so much, mine are extremely tame you just have to handle them a lot. But yes they love to eat lol
I 💘 them to
Saaaaaaame♥️
What do I feed my young kingsnakes?
richard champ Pinkies, Small mice and something that is 1/3x bigger than the biggest part of their body or less
@@richardchamp8835 if you have pinky mice I usually have to cut them in half, if they dont take the mice you can scent them with frogs
I personally think that you were right when you said that certain snakes can be aggressive. Ok, so a lot of snakes are just defensive, but there are many that are just plain nasty! I had a Garter snake once, that was downright evil! LOL 😂
Ashley Stubbings I had a garter and it was the total oposite! It would curl up around my wrist and just sit there. I caught it in my grandma's yard 😂😂
@@flowercrowndream8522 Wait, you caught it in your grandma's yard, yet it became such an amazing pet??? Was it a baby when you caught it?
Nice looking babies. I live in California, and find king snakes on my property pretty often. I've never seen any like these. I only see banded pattern. Congrats on cool looking babies.
Nevermind. Last baby is the pattern I find. Wrote comment too early. lol
Beautiful babies. I like king snakes because they are so calm. It’s neat how they all look different.
My mom loves these snakes.
Lol lucky, my mom hates em
Cal king preferred temps, on average, are a tad lower than that of a corn snake, not higher. Internal body temp measurements of wild Cal kings range lower than for corn snakes, though both do fine in captivity within the average 82-84 degree range over the heat mat/tape.
I got a baby Cali king and it is more tame than most of the corn or garter snakes ive held. It has never struck and i could feed it with my fingers if i wanted to.
I also got a baby California kingsnake and its very calm and lets me hold it unless i unexpectedly pick it up he rattles his tail and musks but ive never seen him strike at me or anybody else... except his food
I have an almost 2 year old Mexican Black Kingsnake. Never once bit me or musked on me.
ViperTech Studios I just got a baby yesterday and it has struck at me. Never musked on me
j fman000
Just keep handling it. It'll get used to you.
Sean Prior I thought it would. I'm trying to be able to handle her almost every day
I just love cal kings!!!
Amazing morphs of king snakes
So cute
That looks like my king snake
Wow iur snakes r crazy I have 4 and I've never been bitten
Cool looking babies
That is a gorgeous snake. What do they eat? Whattemps must they be kept at? Do you sell? What is the price? Where would a person go to purchase?
they eat rattle snakes in the wild
I have a cali king named Oreo (striped up and down with white and black) I once stuck my hand in her cork log and she struck at me, it was my mistake, it was her territory. But even then the only time she strikes now is at food. Very docile though :3
I have a California king named Oreo also if you check out some of my vids you can see him
King snakes can be pretty food agressive i have an albino California King snake and he swallowed my finger up to the knuckle anyways great video keep it up
I've yet to get bit by our two, but I'm sure they'd latch on to me if I gave them the chance.
+Paul-Dominic Di Marco Thats the only time he has actually Tried eating me but he has latched on to me many times before hes around 2 ft. I have Also been bit ten By my 5 and a half foot red tail boa and im only 12 and i live in canada
Ive never seen a snake "defensively" grab their prey. I have seen them do it quite aggressively though. There is a reason why even top breeders use the term "food/cage aggressive" and it isnt because the snake is "defensive". Defensive is a term some folks like to use when they obviously have a snake that exhibits aggressive behavior. It makes them "feel" better to say "defensive".
My california kingsnake only eats live mice. Is that normal? I think he just likes the hunt
I recommend a 75 gallon minimum especially with the males. These guys are active and just need the space, they're not tiny snakes.
Sabretooth do I look like i wipe my ass with money
Yuong Santi lol
75 for a king is insane
Lmao 75 gallon for one?
@@Kaadilac that's what I'd do for mine. If someone can't afford it then they can keep a piece of paper off the floor as a pet. Kingsnake is an active snake and they ain't that small. If people wanna keep them in a 40 gallon and have them curled in the tank all day and never take them out it's there problems. I'm not someones mom just saying what I recommend
is it normal for a kingsnake to miss a meal
Johnny Russell mine don't eat before they shed. They eat after tho.
king snakes? So babys what do they eat?
Why used the hook and not your hand?
Probably so he can show her full length and easier than bending in with a camera. You honestly need two hands to hold kingsnakes. They move around a lot unlike some others that just wrap on your hand and stay on one arm pretty much.
I won’t hold mine. They are unpredictable. They can be as calm as can be when handling and then the next thing you know they are trying to eat your hand lol.
Hey guys and girls where can i get a cali king snakes i have a big tanks but dont know where to look
um.... this guy
Beutiful i like theis.
I guess its genetics...i bought a cal king (super skinny) and a black mexican (very thick) and the cal king is actually older also some just get more robust than others
8:00 welp there's a name for ya
Looks like stripes and bananas

I'm guessing you feed small child king snakes baby mice? But what do you feed baby king snakes the size in this video?
Baby mice. lol
you feed baby snakes pinkie mice/rats
Do females grow faster than the males? i been growing 2 and 1 is bigher than the other one
The male is huge. Do your kings musk on you alot? I have that problem with my baby king. Its disgusting. They can stink really bad.
Ryan Heard it's normal for them to musk. I've had my baby for a few weeks now and he musk almost every time I take him out to handle him. It's just scared. If you handle yours enough it will calm down and stop. Last time I took him out be didn't musk on me at all!
When they are this small what do you fed them, are mice to big or can they handle them when they are this young
pinkie mice
Dont they need to breath? In those containers
they have holes....
I wanna buy one, where can i find ?
Do you sell them.
are u still breeding anymore kingsnakes?
Lola Martinez
If you are looking for one go on kingsnake.com
Way more better
what do you feed em when there that little?
Pinkies
Who is bigger, males or females?
Ящер Ящерович
Females
Sean Prior so if I have exo Terra 24x18x18, can I keep a female in it or it's only sizable for a male?
Ящер Ящерович
Honestly that's to small for both male and female. I went from a 10 gallon then 20 gallon and now I have my kingsnake in a 40.
Sean Prior oh, okay... maybe some other beginner/intermediate colubrids for a terrarium this size?
😋😻
You can tell he’s done zero handling, shitty rack breeding of both snakes and geckos and the place is filthy. #backyardbreederofreptiles
Wow your slow
Agreed!
Shave your hands
Poor snakes. Those are horrible tubs. Give the snakes some space! :(
He says the small tubs for the baby’s are temporary. He had to separate them as soon as possible so they didn’t eat each other
You obviously have no education with snakes.
