Iwagumi - How to Aquascape with rocks

- The latest addition to our showroom is an Iwagumi Aquascape featuring mini-landscape rock. In this video we show you how it was created.
Plant wise we have used Marimo (moss balls) cut and split into smaller chucks, and then attached between the rocks. We have also used Eleocharis acicularis mini and some Christmas moss. This aquascape is intentionally minimalist and simplistic, relying mostly on the rocks for impact. Black neons have been added to compliment the rocks.
I hope you enjoy the video. If you have any questions please leave them in the comments!
Cheers
Dave

Nicely done! Beautiful Iwagumi.
Change of plan was a good idea. Looks amazing, great use of the rocks.
one of my favourite iwagumi tank.
What a great scape.....
Thank you! :)
Very beautiful scapes! Great that you changed the plan and make it looks even better! Thanks for sharing, Dave! :)
Thank you 🙏
Really nice! Some helpful techniques too.
really glad you uploaded this, it was really interesting to see how you adapted the scape when you changed direction with it!
more vids please dave!
pixiemeat5 thank you glad you liked it, even when make mistakes they can be corrected 😊 more new scapes coming soon 👍
The first was still beautiful Dave but the second was perfect!!!!
Nice scape. Not sure I'm a fan of the moss balls but I do like the texture they bring.
Nice aquascape. Great idea the changes in front :)
I liked the adapt on the go with the foreground change, excellent choice. Very interested to see how the Cladophora works out long term. I have only seen in used in short term scapes in this fashion. Black neons...and still one of my favourite fish.
Ama Teur thanks 🙏 I’m looking forward to seeing how the cladophora works out too...bit of an experiment :)
Awesome, I will check back...Best.
Making George jealous with that scape
:D I taught him everything he knows! lol
Normally I don't really like Iwagumi. This one however is stunning!
Thanks Nick!
Very beautiful aquarium
I love this scape! Your video was extremely helpful as well.
I look forward to seeing this in a couple days!
amazing layout
Dave, that was nice seeing some of your creations. A very nice layout and looks great with the fish. Thank you.
Thank you Robert!
Perfect!

Absolutely stunning Dave! 😍
Thanks Sherie 😊

Love it! Love this scape! More vids!!
Thanks Mark! More videos on the way 👍
Very good
Hi Dave. Nice scape. I really like it
Such a beautiful scape. The plants i ordered from Aquarium Gardens are doing great too. Highly recommend.
Amazing 'scape; the depth of field is stunning…it makes me really want to get out and climb that mountain!! Do you ever do any presentation to camera videos?...I find them so much more engaging than just the music and text. Thanks.
Rob Williams thank you rob! Thanks for feedback, will consider this! 👍😊
Nice scrap
Dave this is absolutely SUBLIME!!!!!!!! Fabulous teaching video too (you made me think even I could do it)!!! Interesting technique using the syphon to remove the sand and soil, very helpful when re-scaping. I loved seeing the 're-think' too. Do you think it would be possible to do this without CO2 injection? I would love to try this scape but would like to keep it low tech. You don't offer this in store as a "scaped for you" do you (preferably to fit a Dennerle Scapers 55l :) )?!!! Planning on a visit to Aquarium Gardens so please don't re-scape this anytime soon!!!!! PLEASE: REGULAR VIDEO UPDATES ON THIS TANK!
Thanks Glenda 😊 happy to hear it’s inspired you and you found it a helpful video. Personally I would use CO2 in such a set-up but I have not tried without CO2. The grass does better with CO2 but the cladophora should be fine without it. I’m sure I could help you scape something similar if if bring your tank in store :) not planning on taking this down anytime soon, will keep updated 👍
Brilliant thank you so much Dave 😁 I'll be in touch nearer the time!
Just beautiful ! I have a question.... this could work without Co2?
Probably yes,coz moss doesn't need co2,CMIIW
Looks great is this a aquascaper 600
👍
💚
What types of rocks did you use?
Hi, is a nice tank with depth.
Can you share the tank dimension ? (Length x Height x Depth).
What is the thickness of this glass
What brand of light fixture is that?
Hello. How do you transport this?
What are these stones called?
How much does that amount of rock cost Dave?
There’s around 20kg - £70 👍
What rocks did u use
Which stones?!
how much kilos of rock did you use?
Can I ask how the Moss balls are doing in the warmer temperatures of the tank please? Read that they only do well in really cold waters or is that a YT myth?
Hi can u please let me know what stone was used and how many and where can I buy them.
whats the substrate?
whats the green liquid in the feeder tube or whatever hanging off the top of the aquarium? jw
It’s a drop checker, for measuring CO2
@@AquariumGardensAquascapingoh ty. jw. cool stuff!
Beautiful looking tank. Check out my latest video on my first planted aquarium if you wouldn’t mind. Iv had no prior experience aquascaping or with live plants, so let me know what you think of my scape!
I dont like that back left corner stone sticking up. It throws of the balance to me and draws my eye in a bad way.
Scape came out nice though.
One thing I've realized about aquascaping is that it turns a 10 gallon into a 5 gallon. Now I have to search, 'fish for a 5 gallon tank' 😭
Please help me.
How can I make a plantic aquarium. And what products will need to make. Please named that products...
too many rocks bro, gotta clean it up a bit... simplicity is the ultimate sophistication
This with siphon to remove the soil was stupid. The scape is good.
Looks artificial
Nice aquascape. Great idea the changes in front :)
