  • It's our final episode of Study Hall: Data Literacy, and what we want to talk about is how we find our own data. How do we know what we want to know? And how do we go about collecting it? And how do we challenge our own bias? In this last episode, Jessica chats about all of that and more!
Presented by Arizona State University and Crash Course, Study Hall is a tailored series of UA-cam Learning Playlists aimed at helping you with resources to navigate college and your education path. Count on Study Hall to guide you to and through college.

This is also how you can dissect Corona truths if you're smart enough-- FOIA it.

I wonder if its 'smart' enough or 'determined' enough; slogging through online slush and fact-checking can be tedious and time consuming

@@DaBlondDude its more than fact checking its legitimate research. I researched CV from the beginning to determine routes of CV and concluded early on that it was based in genetics that the disease was bloodborne and as such the cure would require a genetic response. Now we have a genetic basis for a vaccine rather than one which relies on using a sample of the original disease. If this vaccine doesn't work the way proposed i would deduce that the disease is thus endemic and we would have no choice but to "live with it."

@@DaBlondDude FOIA goes beyond online fact checking which is essentially getting beyond fake news bs... FOIA gets to the nitty gritty of information and data readily available to the public that is generally not subject to opinion editorial

@@seratonyn Yep, that's where I infer that dogged determination becomes a factor in invoking FOIA, that seems like a LOT of detail to slog through. Fact-checking was just a simplified example though it would indeed be more complicated if the level and volume of details where high enough I think

such an impeccable teacher, thank you madam. I have watched all the videos of data literacy and now I want to learn statistics literacy as well as information literacy. This was really an eye-opening course and as a lifelong learner I am going to further my researching as well as verifying dataset.
