What he forgot to mention is that the front to rear position is adjustable. The tanklock plate on the bag can be shifted by undoing four Phillips screws. In NZ after one short trip in sunlight I found my phone got WAY too hot to sit on top of the bag. No problems with viz of instruments over a bag this size. Fits R1200GS nicely
Great video. Doesn't seem to be many Givi reviews in snglish, maybe UA-cam is hiding them. The 'honest thieves' bit cracked me up, I think you mean opportunistic thieves. Safe riding.
Good note on the safety strap thing. No where in it’s instructions or any of the online support info does it mention or show it. I’ve put it on a multistrada so even at its extreme back position it still needs to be tightened to its max and even then still baggy. It makes taking on and off fiddley and seems to negate the benefits of tanklock for just lifting on and off. If tanklock is secure as advertised I can’t see the point. Good review.
That strap loops around the headstock, down one side, underneath and up the other side, just as added security incase the bag comes loose on the quick release.
@NeckDickie. Nice review. Question on the power cord 'passthrough', did you have to cut a slit behind that rubber grommet? Mine has the Grommet but the fabric behind it remains sealed.
I prefer a review of a guy who paid for something and is trying it out rather than a shop who are trying to sell you something. Or a reviewer who has 'affiliate links', though I understand why they have them.
I went through two of these bags on my Vstrom 650 - one was warranty repaired and still broke - the weak link are the zippers - way too smal and fine. They both broke around the top left side corner - not durable and I'm only a weekend rider. Will be buying the Mosko Moto Nomad next.
Hi there, did the Givi XS307 connect to the bike tank without interfering with the steering lock? I have just bought an DL650 strom and fitted a tanklock ring to find my existing back stops the full steering lock. Thanks
Hi there! Nice review! I bought one but I have a question and maybe you could clarify me... Did your cable port came open or did you have to cut it to pass the cable through it? Mine is closed and the only way to do it will be to cut a hole in it... Is that what is supposed to do?
It's definitely not a shoulder strap. The shoulder strap is removable and comes inside the bag. I have this bag. It's designed to go through the top yoke of the bike. It's a really poorly designed feature (in my opinion) on an otherwise great bag. I'm very concerned the strap will whip around in the wind and mess up my paint.
Thanks man, great review. The 307 is on my short list. I wanted a SW Motech which uses a ring that is less ugly than the Givi's, but its not available in Canada.... Chuck in Hamilton
Please, my question is the same as other users. Can you drive without a problem? Can you handle the bike normally with the same bag if you did not have the bag? Does the handlebar not pick up the bag? Can you see the instruments of the bike without problem? Thank you
I have the same bike but I bought the SX 306 (25 lt) and for a one day trip is to big... and besides when install and you stir, the handlebar hits the side of the bag... to late I notice that.
Nice video! What are your long germ thoughts- Are you still using the bag, like the size, etc? Thanks in advance- I'm shopping for one for my Tiger 800.
Hello Buddy! I have a Vstrom 650 and I want to buy this bag but my only doubt is if the bag allows you to see the instruments without any problem? I'm not very high 5' 9'' Thanks for answer
I use this bag on a Vstrom 650 and have no problems with seeing the instruments. I'm 5'11, but bearing in mind how much of our height difference will be in the length of our legs (ie, irrelevant) I'd be surprised if you had a problem.
Have the same bike (2014 dl1000) and tank bag, nice video. I cut that front strap right off, it was just a pain. Where are you? I live in Nova Scotia, some of your footage looks familiar.

Can u see ur speedometer clearly?
@@zaheer141516 Yes, no problem.
I believe it is a really good review. You didn't focus on only one thing like the installation but on all specs that are important for you as a rider.

Great review. Just what I needed to know. Thanks!

Nice review, lots of info in this video. Thanks for uploading!

Great review, had the XS320 but the top zipper failed. Going with this one. Thanks!

Cool bike! I have the same, in black! Love it!
Very nice review. Thanks a lot. Good rides!!,
Good review, nice job. I think you convinced me.
Nice review mate..
3:38 that is a shoulder strap for carrying off the bike.
i think its function is to put it throug/under the fork to get some extra safety
Reiwadatschi watch Revilla's review on the bag. Way too long for a safety strap. You'll see.

Hey, do you think that a 14 inches laptop could fit in?
Is there anything stopping me from unscrewing the ring on the bottom of that and putting a SW Motech base on it making it lockable?
Do you think the spaces that was given is sufficient to fit a MacBook Pro 13inch?
the cable lock your talking about you can cut with Scissors dont waste your money on it
the Zips are the weak link. They are not robust. After a short while the zip comes apart .
Nice video! What are your long germ thoughts- Are you still using the bag, like the size, etc? Thanks in advance- I'm shopping for one for my Tiger 800.
Did you get one for the tiger?
Would this be any good to go on a R1 yamaha ? What do you think thanks
Does the silver lining bag come out?

David P thanks David, i will buy this bag :)

MotorMichaelMan I'm in Victoria BC
honest thiefs haha
i bought a used one, waiting for it to arrive
What does the zip around the bottom do
Opening the zip gives you some extra room for the main compartment.
Don't bother. The zipper around the top burst. Really disappointed.
zipper suck in this
