A quick review of the Givi XS307 (15 Litre) tank bag. After a number of months researching, I've decided on this tank bag which has a number of very handy features...it also looks good on my V-Strom 1000.

Just did this drive today. Holy shit! Best drive of my life.
zipper suck in this
Literally just drove 14a from Lovell to Dayton. 28° and 2 feet of snow at the top. Beautiful, even at night.
@NeckDickie. Nice review. Question on the power cord 'passthrough', did you have to cut a slit behind that rubber grommet? Mine has the Grommet but the fabric behind it remains sealed.
Hi there! Nice review! I bought one but I have a question and maybe you could clarify me... Did your cable port came open or did you have to cut it to pass the cable through it? Mine is closed and the only way to do it will be to cut a hole in it... Is that what is supposed to do?
Hey, do you think that a 14 inches laptop could fit in?
Great video. Doesn't seem to be many Givi reviews in snglish, maybe UA-cam is hiding them. The 'honest thieves' bit cracked me up, I think you mean opportunistic thieves. Safe riding.
Skagit is pronounced with a short a sound. Thought you might want to know.
Greetings fellow bikers, I just got back from my first trip over for the season and I noticed that the chip seal just uphill from Gorge Lake bridge for about four maybe 5 miles is coming loose so watch your speed on corners guys. The rest is complete bliss especially on a Wednesday :-)
You are going too fast!!
That's just the timelapse effect. It doesn't really capture the essence of the drive, including the hairpin turns, the 10% downhill grade, and the barely adequate guardrails. It's an absolutely fantastic drive.
I think you meant Dayton not Drayton.
Great video. Very insightful. Just bought this model and the same colour, but in matt. Really looking forward to getting out on it 👍
Nice test
Pretty decent range. Any problem with power at lower %? Gen 2 motor?
I heard gen 2 motors use less power at <= 10% battery
Don't bother. The zipper around the top burst. Really disappointed.
what mode
honest thiefs haha i bought a used one, waiting for it to arrive
Sick ride!!!
Did this route from Sheridan, Wyoming last September. Perfect time of the year. This is a great route, don't hurry thru this area, spot a lot get out of the car and smell the air and walk around. head to Greybull and then head for Montana and cross into Yellowstone Park from that entry point. Cody is OK, but if your coming and going from the park as a base point. Not much to see and a hour drive to get their. But the Bighorn Mountains are worth the trip. Spent two days in this area before heading into Yellowstone.
All of you riders planning on using the Canadian Ferries NEED to CALL the Canadian Ferry and COMPLAIN, I did many times and they are now changing the ridiculous fees they charge for motorcycles, our bikes do not take as much square footage as a car, yet they claim they charge per square footage, WELL, it should be LESS, not MORE and they range from $500 to $1,200 ONE WAY on the Canadian Ferries. The Ferry Management are receptive to bikers IF YOU CALL THEM. They are now planning to LOWER their fares for motorcycles. Most riders are avoiding the Ferries, till they lower their prices. Call their 800 number and VOICE YOUR OPINION. Thank you!
Good note on the safety strap thing. No where in it’s instructions or any of the online support info does it mention or show it. I’ve put it on a multistrada so even at its extreme back position it still needs to be tightened to its max and even then still baggy. It makes taking on and off fiddley and seems to negate the benefits of tanklock for just lifting on and off. If tanklock is secure as advertised I can’t see the point. Good review.
I believe it is a really good review. You didn't focus on only one thing like the installation but on all specs that are important for you as a rider.
I love the views in wyoming Nebraska, USA
What's that long white tube on the left that that truck is carrying? Seems like it's half a mile long.
What is the odometer reads on your vstrom after so many years?
12,000 KM...not so many, I don't ride in the winter too much
Thank you I really enjoyed that. I grew up in Washington state and I have never had the opportunity to ride the N. Cascades Highway. I have a V-Strom DL1000 like yours so it was like riding my own bike. The views of the mountains brought back memories from my childhood. By the way, the a in “Skagit” is pronounced like that a in the word “at”.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice review mate..
can also get extenders to move them out 2" but still not as good as moved out front ! like the T max.
why is there not a front windshield bar mount for front mirrors ?
the Zips are the weak link. They are not robust. After a short while the zip comes apart .
I love the red paved roads...made from the red rock....
Good morning In the near future, I'm planning on taking a trip from South Florida to Victoria I wanted to ask you a few questions 1) What is the name of the port that I would need to board to get to Victoria from Vancouver? 2) What is the updated price of the Ferry? I'd like to go on my 85' Goldwing with my girlfriend 3) Are there any mechanics you trust in Victoria that aren't dealerships? I'd be traveling, roughly, 3,560 miles from my home to Victoria so I'll probably need some check ups on the old Goldwing. I wish I was mechanically inclined.... But I am not. Most I can do is change the oil, oil filter, brake fluid, and air filter.
Very nice review. Thanks a lot. Good rides!!,
Would this be any good to go on a R1 yamaha ? What do you think thanks
Thanks man, great review. The 307 is on my short list. I wanted a SW Motech which uses a ring that is less ugly than the Givi's, but its not available in Canada.... Chuck in Hamilton
Is there anything stopping me from unscrewing the ring on the bottom of that and putting a SW Motech base on it making it lockable?
What does the zip around the bottom do
Opening the zip gives you some extra room for the main compartment.
I hate loud motorcycles with a passion, I hate douchebags and I especially hate douchebags who blip their throttle incessantly. That prick in front of you does all 3...and when he speeds away the casual viewer doesn’t realize that, since it’s a Harley that’s the fastest it’ll ever go, when the rest of traffic is doing 30.
the cable lock your talking about you can cut with Scissors dont waste your money on it
Very nice! Thanks, for sharing!
What he forgot to mention is that the front to rear position is adjustable. The tanklock plate on the bag can be shifted by undoing four Phillips screws. In NZ after one short trip in sunlight I found my phone got WAY too hot to sit on top of the bag. No problems with viz of instruments over a bag this size. Fits R1200GS nicely
Can u see ur speedometer clearly?
@@zaheer141516 Yes, no problem.
I went through two of these bags on my Vstrom 650 - one was warranty repaired and still broke - the weak link are the zippers - way too smal and fine. They both broke around the top left side corner - not durable and I'm only a weekend rider. Will be buying the Mosko Moto Nomad next.
Hi there, did the Givi XS307 connect to the bike tank without interfering with the steering lock? I have just bought an DL650 strom and fitted a tanklock ring to find my existing back stops the full steering lock. Thanks
Did that drive last summer in a 2010 C-6 Vette. Great fun and just about as visually fast as you vedio.
Do you think the spaces that was given is sufficient to fit a MacBook Pro 13inch?
Great review, had the XS320 but the top zipper failed. Going with this one. Thanks!
I took the same trip thru the bighorn mnt. I saw 8 moose and a baby one too. Wyoming was one of the best experiences of my life went to yellowstone and jackson hole saw the tetons and devils tower. One of my favorite places on earth.
Very nice video you made, love it 👌 I'm from the U.K.
Excellent and useful video. You can check out cost effective hotel in Iowa, US - enjoy the video - ua-cam.com/video/fjT7EQq0j7E/v-deo.html
Great job! Thank you for posting this.
I prefer a review of a guy who paid for something and is trying it out rather than a shop who are trying to sell you something. Or a reviewer who has 'affiliate links', though I understand why they have them.
That strap loops around the headstock, down one side, underneath and up the other side, just as added security incase the bag comes loose on the quick release.
