This game is particularly awesome to me because it got ported to so many different systems with each being distinctively different. It got released for PSX, N64, Dreamcast, PS2. There are comprehensive lists online mentioning all of the differences between each version so I won't go over that, but what's important to note is that the Nintendo 64 was the original version. This recording features all lums and cages collected which wasn't necessary but I did so anyway as most of it was a lossless thing to do. It's a really fun game game with very casual difficulty, even for those wishing to 100% it.
This is a great game , my siblings and I took turns playing this game and together we nearly made it to the end. My friends and I also played this when they had a sleepover at my place. Ultimately one of my friends and I managed to beat the game together. So much nostalgia and childhood memories , thank you for this.
Was playing this one the other day. I’m a huge rayman fan now. These games are a work of art. The one out for switch was only 25 bucks and it’s way worth it. Awesome on all ends and great replay value 🐸🍺🔪🔥
I’ve always loved the Rayman franchise (at least when the Rabbids aren’t involved), but the first game was so hard my mother wouldn’t buy the sequel because I never finished the first. When I turned 19 though, I got a PS Vita and finally had my first taste of Rayman 2 through the Classics page of the store. I immediately fell in love with the game, and I really hope it comes to the Classics Catalogue on PS4.
This is still my preferred Rayman game overall and a top 3 mascot platform adventure game on the console; the N64 version (with Expansion pak enabled) and Dreamcast versions are the best. The PS2 version added an unnecessary hub world which made the game feel bloated and diminished the well optimized game flow. More is not always more.
Always thought it interesting that this game has the target platform of N64 when the first game was defined by the PS One, did Nintendo 64 owners even recognize this character or question where the first game was when they picked this up? Almost think they could’ve just cut the 2 in the N64 version specifically since it’s so vastly different to the first game that it already served as a good introduction to the character for Nintendo fans.

This really shows the power advantage of the N64 over the PS1 which had to be watered down due to hardware limitations.
One of the most interesting platformers out there! Rayman 2 is still a great time as it has incredible gameplay and beautiful graphics at the time!

Having played the PS1 version then the Dreamcast and then N64. I think the Dreamcast version is the best.
But because the N64 is cartridge based no load times baby!
