We added a swim platform ultra 40 inch swim platform and then added Hurley davit system, so the mid line of the dinghy is now on the swim platform. Ultra platform is a bunch lighter than the factory platform so our 350 lb dinghy sits there nicely. I use 2 block and tackle systems anchored to the base of the radar arch (where it meets the flybridge) to drag the dinghy on to the platform...its more cost effective than hydraulic platform and can be installed without too much pain
Why did you replace the swim platform? Was it just to get a larger one? I have heard that it is hard to get t the bolts to remove the platform on out boat
@@CruisingCalypso We wanted a platform big enough to have the midline of the dinghy firmly on the platform rather than cantilevered out past the swim platform. The factory bolts werent used in the new platforms install, so we just capped and sealed them with the nuts and spacers that were already there
I have my dinghy on the bow and a crane. The supporting pile for want of a better word, goes down thru the port hanging locker in the master suite so you loose some hanging space. When the dinghy is not there we do sometimes just rope it onto the swim platform so ours is probably smaller than yours. Or you can tow it if going on a short trip. But having it out of the way on the bow most of the time is a boon. Not sure what this kind of setup would cost, it was added by the PO
You’ll love the StarLink. Used all last season and it allowed us to work aboard all summer. We have the 42 DB ran into you in MNemsha. Let me know when you head down to Watch Hill. We are in Mystic. Have you done Block Island?
I think I got the idea for the Starlink from you when i saw it on your boat in Menemsha. Its been while since we went to Block island. we want to go back. Where do yu stay when you go?
