  • “Focus On The Camaro” is a Chevrolet dealer training film from September 1966 which introduced the all-new Camaro to the dealership sales staff. This film was intended for internal use at the dealership and was not shown publicly.
This video was created from a filmstrip and companion 33-1/3 vinyl record from my personal collection. This film was not downloaded or copied from another source.
Be sure to check out the other vintage dealer sales training videos that are already uploaded to this channel and subscribe to The Steele Garage to be notified of future content.

The '67 Camaro was the one that started it all. Today Camaro is in its sixth generation.

Do you have one that focuses on the '70 Chevelle SS? Would really like to see that

@@johncornell3665 Honestly, I'm not 100% sure of what I have in the collection. I would estimate that I have about 100 filmstrips covering 1961-1972 but I've only viewed those that I've uploaded to UA-cam in 2023. I'm sure hoping to find some that include the Chevelle SS since it is one of my favorite cars (especially the '70 model).

Glad you enjoyed it. A '69 RS is a dream car for many of us.
I have also uploaded a few videos that show the '69 Camaro and I think I might have at least one more '69 Camaro video coming as well.

Fantastic! Interesting, no mention of the 396 or Turbo Hydramatics. Those must have come later.

@wasfast5409 I do have the filmstrip and record for the '68 Camaro. It's still in the original box and I've never personally seen it. I'll try to get it converted to a digital format and uploaded for you and me to see.

What was the video played by? I have a blue case large cassette looking thing with technicolor as the manufacturer, is this the same as what you used? It’s apparently used with a projector

The dealerships had machines made for playing the filmstrip and 33-1/3 rpm record that are shown at @0:03 at the beginning of this video. I don't have one of those machines so I just use a record player with a USB cable to transfer the audio to my computer and use a negative scanner to digitize each frame of the filmstrip. Then I use movie making software to piece the two together into a video.

@@TheSteeleGarage that’s awesome! Some old theater techniques in use, love it! I’ve been dying to find the video from these “tapes” I found a Camaro and corvette one in some junk that was being thrown out and have never figured out what’s on it.

@@stephenholland5930 I really appreciate the feedback. I have a large collection of these films and plan to upload them all eventually. Making these into UA-cam videos has allowed me to finally see these films for the first time. This is much better than having them continue to sit in boxes on a shelf. I have Chevrolet films for 1961-1972 models.

That caught my eye as well. It would like to see an original '67 Camaro with a 6-cyl and 3-speed on the column.

I’m 55 years old and I saw one in upstate NY when I was about 18. It was a 1968 Camaro (I believe). It caught my eye because I had never seen a first generation Camaro with a stock bench seat and three on the tree. I have never seen one like that again.

Yep! Almost bought a used '68 Camaro with a 327 and "3 on the tree" back in 1975 but balked at the $2300 asking price!

I know someone that has a 1969 Pontiac firebird with bucket seats and automatic on the column.
