I caught mine in an masterball but i had to kill it before i caught which took hours on end
I captured a Mesprit with a pokéball. I literally had to use more than 80 pokéballs and use my Latias's Heal Pulse and something else I don't remember in order for Mesprit not to die because of Struggle. Then I proceeded to capture each legendary pokemon I encountered with pokéballs ;;

Fun fact: The masterball actually DOES have a chance to fail... It's just so small that the chance of it happening is rarer that finding a Legendary and catching it in your first pokeball
Which would suck if you’re trying to get a legendary and it’s your only Poké ball you had
That's actually not true at all. It is specifically made to bypass the catching formula so it won't fail even if you want to.

In Gen 1 the Masterball has a 1 in 65536 chance to fail but in all other releases it's just an automatic catch
@@thepanzerofthelake732 You gonna need some serious citations for that. In gen 1, ATTACKS that are 100% accurate always had a 1/256 chance to miss due to a coding error. People often mistakenly think that it also applied to master balls. The only instance that I am aware of where the master ball can fail is if you try to catch a ghost Marowak with it.
@@Vengir The 1/256 glitch applies to catching as well, as it's a failure of the checksum. The Master ball has a catch value of 256, which SHOULD be perfectly accurate and a 100% success rate, but when they coded the game, they coded it to check if the generated value to hit/catch was LESS than the number required to succeed rather than Less than or equal to.

THINKING TIME: If Lapras turns into a Digimon inside the Pokéball, it means that Digimon are pure red light, or Lapras somehow turns into a Digimon and switches dimensions upon entering the ball. Hence, Lapras would have to travel between two different universes in two different game cartridges. It means that it would somehow have to be traded between Pokémon and Digimon, which I think happens through the GTS. If what TheAuraGuardian said in his top 10 genwunner rules is true, Pokémon traded through the GTS are destroyed and recreated.
CONCLUSION: Everytime you return a Pokemon to its ball, it gets destroyed and transferred to Digimon, where it lives on. Each time you get into a new battle, you send out a different Lapras. You never connect or bond to your Pokémon at all. You just kill it, waiting for another one to reappear.
So this is why Ash keeps leaving his Pokémon behind every time he goes to a new region.
