O my that looked delicious. I love scrapple. My dad started me on that at a very early age. He grew up on a farm in the 30’s back when nothing went to waste. My children now love it.
Grew up in Lancaster county. When I went to respiratory therapy school in Lancaster, I would shop at the farmer's market in Lancaster on Friday. In 1974-75 I would get a pound of John Martin's scrapple for 49 cents and a dozen eggs from mr. Groff for 50 cents. That was supper for my son and I every Friday. My family is still in PA and MD, but I've been in Colorado for the last 20 years. I really miss scrapple, cheese steaks, and crab cakes. I prefer maple syrup on scrapple and Chulula hot sauce on eggs.
It's definitely a regional thing, here in Florida, I get it at Publix for $4, over the years I have had a few of my friends try Scrapple, but they never really liked it, oh well, the horse-to-water thing I guess 🎯
You should know Booth's Corner on 491 near the PA/DE border. I visited there on Saturday and got 5lbs of Scrapple for $3 a lb from Stoltzfus Meats. I have been flipping my Scrapple too soon. 🥺 I will try again for breakfast tomorrow.
@@donkiker, I just saw this week how the owner of Stoltzfus Meats was showing off an Italian Sausage cast iron skillet. Instead of curling up, the sausage stays in place with side walls able to fry 6 at a time.
I grew up just down the road in Delaware and went to Brandywine High and Faulk Road elementary school. We went to the farmers market on Saturdays in the sixtys and seventys. Do you remember the app-a-tates guy?
Have an apple!!! Taters, I got taters, of course, I remember, especially before it burnt down, it had a dirt floor and kind of smelled like a barn, I loved it
I moved away from the area when I graduated from college in 81. I guess it burned down some time in the 80s. I also miss scrapple it's not sold in Massachusetts.
Wait! You did 10 minutes per side and then flipped it again…for how many minutes the last flip? Before you took it out of the pan? You just skipped that step.
I think it's just me but I would rather hear you than that music! It's louder than you. Thank you for sharing! Please ditch the foreground music. Pretty please!
So sorry, that was from 2022, I have been figuring out the background and music thing, it's so hard to get the levels right, but I really appreciate your feedback, my new stuff is getting much better, well I think so anyway!
@@donkiker I hate to come and complain! lol I notice that with other UA-camrs as well and normally I just can't even watch the video. It's like nails on a chalkboard but at least with this one I could get through it! I wanted to hear you! LOL Thank you for not chewing me out for bringing it up and telling me to go someplace else! I'm subbing just because you didn't take personal offense to the feedback! THANK YOU!
@@penelopepittstopP That's so nice of you, I can't thank you enough for the comment, and subscribing, oh yeah, I don't live in an unrealistic bubble, my channel is a work in progress, and I agree with you 100% some of my stuff is way too loud, but I can't go back and change the levels after it's been published.
Agree about the music. Having some scrapple for breakfast today!

I used to eat this as a kid. My mom served it with pancakes or eggs, and drizzled honey or maple syrup on the scrapple. Scale of 1 to 10, 1000!
Me2
We use to flour it. But yours turned out good without it.
Thanks.
Love scrapple whenever I go back home I get my fill of it
Publix sells Habbersett Scrapple here in Florida.

The only thing missing is the Texas Pete !
I love hot sauce, but I never put it on scrapple, next time I make it I will give it a try, thanks

Sorry about the confusion, this was one of my first cooking videos, it is 10 minutes on each side, I was checking for brown when I cut to the end.

Cut the music
Agreed, I made that video 2 years ago, I'm trying to do better😃
Gosh - MAYBE you should play that LOUSY music a might bit LOUDER so us folks can't hear ANYTHING you are saying!!!
That video was from 2 years ago when I first started making videos, I have improved my volume levels.
