That's MY knot. As far as I know, I "invented it," have used it for 50+ years and never met another person or seen a knot show, book or article that used this knot. I actually sent it into the old In-Fisherman show when they had the Knot Wars segment but they must have ignored it. I have tied it in all line types and NEVER had the knot break or pull loose (almost impossible as the doubled standing line tightens on itself. One of the neat things about the knot is that the wraps are self aligning as the tag end is tightened. Be careful to make sure the double pass through the eye stays side by side as it can, especially on lighter lines, manage to squiggle one loop off and around the shank but it is an easy fix. How about calling it Greg's Knot. Then I can die with a legacy. LOL.
I learned that knot from an old friend 20 years ago, he was 65 at that time. He told me that it's been his favorite knot most of his life. I also had the knot tested by Berkeley representatives at the Sportman Expo in Sacramento. They said they have never seen that knot, and they have seen many. My old friends name was Otha, thats why I call it "The Otha Knot."
Back in the 1960s my grandfather, who was a farmer and Mason in Oklahoma made me learn how to untie knots and tangled line/string/rope before he taught me to tie knots. This is one of the first knots I learned to tie since it would assure that I probably wouldn't lose my fish as a youngster. He called it the Mason's Fisherman Knot.
Thanks Tom (and Greg) for this. Have tried it and it is really impressive. Would be interested in seeing a comparison to the Toit knot(also on UA-cam) which is similar. My money on your knot winning, but the Toit also being better than 100%.
I've fished since I was very little, this was the first knot I ever learned to tie and is the only one I've ever used. I was told it was just called a Fisherman's knot 😂 I saw the uni snell knot video and actually came looking for this know to see what it would test at. Something about "unknown knot" made me curious, but I learned it 20 plus years ago
I like the knot you tested but I think the reason the snell didn't test higher is because of how you tie it. If you roll the loops over the hook you don't have a pinch point. Where as how you tie it it has one. I'd be interested to see if you tied it the traditional way what the result would be. If your using a 20# main line to 50# leader even the way you tie it the knot will never fail before the the main line breaks. So, it's kinda splitting hairs. None the less I'd still be interested to see it. Because other UA-cam video tests show 100%. Not a real criticism. Just curiosity. Thanks for the vids though. Thank you for doing it.

Sounds good!
I vote Greg knot!
Thanks I’m going to give it a try Tom

I've got one that has tested over 100% in hundreds of tests, but it's probably not as easy as this one so thanks. I'll definitely use it.
Color me impressed. I now have a new favorite knot for my terminal tackle. How about “My Favorite Knot” for a name?😂

Just tried this knot, it is solid
Looks good, but I still like mine as it is just as strong!! As long as it's over 100%, it's good. Waiting for you to test it
It's a modification of the Pitzen Knot which passes the tag end through the hook eye once instead of twice.
So question could you unknown to unknown as a leader splice?

I heard it was called the Miller knot.
I call it; Good & Tight
I stll prefer a snell or a loop. So far snells dont break. Loops do. But at the loop not the knot.
It's called the "one hundred and one percent knot"
Agreed! …The 101 💪🔥
Have you tested the Palomar
THANX" I'LL TRY IT! CHEERS" from Idaho! newsub
It’s a modified Pitzen knot. 🪢
You are correct.
