This is such a great topic and I agree with your opinions. I'm really not a fan of top handle only bags and I definitely prefer having that crossbody option. Cold and heavy chains are a big no for me too. Comfort is a must. ❤
I agree with you. I don't like heavy bags. And, I do like colorful, but it is not for me when it is my purse. I tend to lean more on neutrals, but I've Iearned from you, I introduce the color in the smaller leather goods. Thank you!
I agree with all your criteria…except I don’t buy well known designer bags…I also only buy bags now that have no logo…only I know what I paid for it…I have made all the mistakes u mentioned….i have a fantasy self that. Loves color, but the truth is I am not that adventurous….i love purses….and shoes! Great video!
Hi Hannah, I agreed with almost every category you discussed here. I’ve learned that just because a handbag looks pretty or interesting on display, and catches my eye, it doesn’t mean that I should take it home, that it will be wearable. In reality, there are only a limited amount of styles and colors that I feel are truly usable, although I still enjoy seeing these artistic bags with their “fatal flaws”. Of course the design houses are going to present us with as many color options as possible - they are simply trying to sell more! I am reminded of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, who mostly carried two handbags, both black. And she looked so elegant and polished. No offense intended to anyone who enjoys brightly colored handbags 😊
Style definitely evolves over time as we age. A few years back I loved mini bags - discovering them was a game changer and I loved being hands free, especially during the COVID pandemic. But by now I’ve sold all my mini bags off and the smallest I actually use is a small tote; it helps me carry everything without being too pared down. Other things that break the deal for me nowadays: zippers, purely cross body strap bags, excessive weight (learned this the hard way), vertical depth (as opposed to horizontal length), and boring colors. It’s such a different me nowadays!
Great video thank you. I agree with all your points. My favourite bags to carry are satchel bags, I love to use bags multi ways, top handle & option of a crossbody. I can do crossbody only but not big bags. I prefer a small to medium bag as I cannot carry anything heavy anymore, tfs❤❤
You are so right about top handle bags. It isn't practical for someone on the go. I really wish I had the speedy B instead of the Speedy 30 for that exact reason. I rather have the option to wear my bags in multiple ways.Great video as always
Great topic. So much of what you said is true for me as well. I don't like fingerprint marks, so I won't buy another patent bag. I used to think I was not a tote person because I seldom reach for my LV Capucines. But last year, I purchased a white and gold Deauville tote and an organizer insert (thank you for inspo) and love everything about it except the drop on the top handle. Had I purchased the larger size (like yours), it would be more roomy/comfortable. So, I've added a larger (darker color) Deauville to my short list. One bag I am not likely to buy is a bucket bag. The shape and width do not suit my body.
Full chain straps are a big no for me.. it hurts. The quality point is so true as well. Bags are such delight if they look/feel good and do their job well😊
Great video. I purchase luxury handbags based on what style and color work for my lifestyle. Oftentimes i have more bags from one fashion house because the style and comfort just fits my lifestyle. No big bags, totes, chain straps, micro bags. Pops of color can work for me. Summer is yellow. Winter is light blue.
Great topic idea! I don’t like black bags w/ black inside. I can never find things quickly. I also can’t use tiny bags that are too small for my phone.
Hi Hannah! This is such a great video ❤. I thought I couldn’t do shoulder bags but it turned out I could (at least in the summer 😂) because I sweat easily and shoulder bags are much easier to use. I also once bought a mini bag that couldn’t fit my phone (but the silhouette was exactly what I wanted) and I thought it would be fine since I hold my phone in my hand a lot…Not good 😅 because I realized I also wear pants that don’t have pockets for me to put my phone. Lesson learned…No more bags that can’t fit my phone lol.
These days the two things I look for are crossbody straps and a back ( or front) slip pocket for my phone. If they don’t have those features I’m much more likely to pass, unless it’s an evening bag. I can’t deal with shoulder bags. The strap has to be long enough for cross body wear.
This was a great video to watch because I too am discovering what handbags don’t work for me: hard leather, structured bags, white or red bags, bags with Middle pockets, bucket bags, and heavy bags
Totally agree with everything here. I don’t know how some may feel about my comment; but I also feel like some bags should be age appropriate. Now I am older I have given some of my handbags to my daughter in law. But I don’t know some people look fabulous no matter what bag they wear or color.
It's funny how our style changes with age or lifestyle changes. I've never been one to crave the mini bags as they fit so little. Now that I'm "older," I need a bag that can hold my reading glasses, distance glasses, sun glasses, key fob (which are always so huge), small wallet, small cosmetic bag for whatever, iPhone Pro Max. So basically, I need a shopping bag 😂 MZ Wallace bags are great, inexpensive, utilitarian, no worries someone will snatch and grab it from your person. But I still love my luxury handbags of medium size because I love the leathers.
I would add my no-buys include bags with brand logos, large brand designs (Gucci). Bags that don't fit an iPad mini. Not fond of bucket bags. Since I'm five feet short I'm NOT into this season's large slouchy totes or satchels.
Really enjoy watching your straight forward no nonsense video. Love your Chanel Deauville tote bag. I regret not buying the small one when I was traveling in Switzerland. The description on Chanel website is confusing. What are the dimensions of your bag? Where did you get the organizer insert?
I love a top handle bag but it has to also have a crossbody 😊 I also prefer a chain with leather woven as well. My wardrobe is primarily neutrals but I so love floral and pastels so I love a pop of color for a bag. The mermaid and the red Chanel were stunning 😍
Hello. Heavy bags are not for me. I sold most of my vintage Chloe bags for that reason. I don’t like chains either. Fleuron has a new light pink color I love on the Hortensia and Swann bags, it’s called ‘rose ballet’.
For me it's the mini totes that horizontal (e.g fendi mini sunshine tote or the bulgari serpantine tote). they feel odd to carrry around top handle only and i don't like wearing them cross body. Also this is more of a color. For all the color in my wardrobe, I really don't like/wear canary yellow.
mine is anything multicolor and that includes it being black and white. my brain freezes and I cant style it. it needs to be one solid color. as much as I love the chanel oreo 19 and their houndstooth I cannot. and I'm glad I did not make those costly mistakes.
For me it’s no more mini bags. I’m keeping the ones I have, but won’t add more. ,I just dislike having to put my stuff a certain way for it to fit. I’m truly a medium bag lover. Now I don’t wear my bags crossbody that much, so I don’t go for it. Actually I’m the opposite of you and really appreciate top handle bags, the birkin being my favorite, to me this bag is so easy to use, I like a bag that is super easy to get in and out ( I never close it of course). No grey, no beige bags for me, they don’t work.
Wow, that Prada bag is absolutely stunning and has such a beautiful shine!

I love, love, love *yutulu*. So well done and thorough!!

I only buy top handle bags with cross body straps. I agree with you about neutral colors but I have so many black bags!❤
I’m really eying that MZ Wallace bag that you have. Great video!
Excellent commentary. Thank you. Cordially, TR
So enlightening to hear about your bag dealbreakers! The top handle/no shoulder strap definitely is a dealbreaker for me too!
Great video thank you. I agree with all your points.

Great video - thank you for sharing with us! 😘 I don’t think I’ve ever unboxed a Gucci Marmont bag that didn’t have glue residue on it 😂
I love this video! You have inspired me to do the same with my handbag collection.

My dealbreakers: heavy bags, bright and colorful bags, mini bags , bags with uncomfortable straps. Similar to your list!
I realized I can't wear colored bags, only Black, Navy or Carmel have one red WOC. I can admire them on others
Great topic idea! I don’t like black bags w/ black inside. I can never find things quickly. I also can’t use tiny bags that are too small for my phone.

OMJ‼️‼️‼️those 2 bags are just Amazing🤩🤩🤩

The *yutulu* Barbie Pink Chanel is fabulous

Agreed on all accounts!
I have the same gucci mini horsebit bag and I love it!
It’s a NO if my phone doesn’t fit in and yellow bags. Yellow doesn’t agree with my colors

Reach your dream to know what your real dream is. Happy to see that you also fell for the birkin/ kelly to realize it’s not for you 😅
*side* handles. The Kelly has a top-handle; the Birkin has side-handles.

Do you think the Birkin 25 size would have worked better for you?
For bright colors of patterns I will buy SLGs or very small bags. I stick with neutral colors for larger bags. Thanks for sharing.💕
