In just 20 years everyone forget what a jedi was even though they've been around for thousands of generations
Yeah, that was kinda dumb
It’s because the Empire did a good job destroying traces of the Jedi order and propagandizing galactic history.
We're talking about an entire Galaxy here, Alderaan alone was a small planet and it had a population of quite a few million.
The Jedi numbered in the thousands, even when they were active most people never got to see one.
It was easy to change the history books to pretend they either didn't exist or were actually the bad guys all along.
@@Ismavolt Plus the Star Wars galaxy doesn't have widespread FTL communication, or anything resembling and "internet" outside of private institutions, like the Jedi Order. As a result, news doesn't exactly get around as much as we're used to.

Funny to think the Clone Wars, a war which only lasted 3 years, had such a small impact on the galaxy even though it engulfed the entire galaxy. It's weird how that works.
It actually has pretty major I would argue more major then the galactic civil war
It only seems small because it's still sorta recent history, and sequels didn't care about their galactic history or proper functionality

Yeah
Let's be honest, this video explained more about the last 3 star wars movies than the third trilogy did.
The movies themselves, that is
Theory, episode 9 would've ended better with Rey dying from her battle with Palpatine, since killing palpatine would allow him to live on through her, she dies instead. And we are left off on Ben Solo beginning to restore the Jedi Order.
Sadly the entire sequel trilogy was a safe, disappointing pile of shit that just makes you wonder where the budget went
Theory, episode 9 would have been better if it didn't exist
Or basically she kills him, he passes into her, and then she dies killing both of them. I'd rather have Ben. He had the spirit of a Jedi even while he was with the dark side. Everything about how Rey fought screamed (literally) 'Sith Lord' but Kylo, on the dark side, had an elegant and controlled fighting style like a Jedi for the most part. But, the Force works in mysterious ways. Someone who struggles with the dark side in their blood conquers themselves and becomes the one to lead a new Force order. I think the next Star Wars trilogy should deal with the fact that both Sith and Jedi are gone and a true balance of the Force is now possible- one which isn't on either extreme. The biggest impact of the sequels was showing just how 'nonbinary' the Force actually is. You can have someone on the dark side fighting like a Jedi and someone on the light side fighting like a Sith.
@@Awakeningspirit20 actually, that was proven a before that in legends such as when luke and another sith lord defeated a powerful dark side entity together.
@@rafahoyos4247 Well, not in the form it did. The ending to The Last Jedi had too many loose ends, and the existence of a sequel was probably for the best. Just, not the one we got.

Hamilkar Barkas Probably not, sorry
I think you made 3 mistakes:
- Battle of Endor was in ABY 4, not in 3.
- You put the Starkiller Base to a wrong location. Since the Starkiller Base is actually the planet Ilum, you should put where Ilum's original location was. (I assume that the red dot which appears around 10:55 is where you placed Starkiller Base)
- Palpatine ordered Kylo to KILL Rey, not to bring her to exegol.

It's amazing to know that The Phantom Menace to The Rise Of Skywalker all happened in a period of about 75 years, not even a full century!
Old republic: Reoccuring civilwars and unstable future of the galaxy.
Prequel Era: complex relations questioning the reality of good and evil.
OT: Dire fight against all odds against tyranny. Sequel trilogy: Palp: Bring me da w o m a n
I liked the tv shows personally but if that's just my opinion
@xBirds yeah, ever notice how everything has been more and more shit since 2012/2013?
I would absolutely love to see a series like the clone wars set between episodes 6 and 7. So much potential for clarification on aspects of the sequel trilogy, and maybe even improving them to some extent .
I'm so down! A series that focuses on the establishment of the New Republic, Luke building the new Jedi order, the rise of the First Order, the "Cold War", Luke & Lando hunting Ochi of Bestoon, and the assembling of the Sith Eternal army on Exegol amongst many things! 😎
And as you say, it could serve as redemption for those overly negative haters that deny the sequels exist 😂

11:38 This really helps to show just how so many rebel ships were able to show up. It's very hard to tell in the movies. But I guess pretty much everyone in the regions that are still technically the New Republic just went to defeat the emperor after discovering that the tyranny that their society was presumed to have defeated was still existent.
Around 14.000 ships showed up in total from all over the galaxy. Including Naboo & Mandalorian starfighters, former Zygerrian slave ships, the Ghost and many more cool easter eggs 😎
Because even though the entire central government of the New Republic was destroyed, it is very much alive...
@@deadchannelwithbadopinonsi9077 I like to think there's a wisdom to it. Hosnian Prime was destroyed yes, but the will to freedom is still there. As long as that's alive, an oppressive regime (The Sith Eternal / First Order) will never rule... 👀

Bro, Nobody even knows what the True Map of Halo is.(Probably the Reason why there are no Halo Mapping Videos.)
Even for a lore junkie like me this was an eye opener. Really put things in to perspective
Wow... this makes the sequels even more irrelevant... Youre telling me that even after the destruction of the New Republic, that the First Order still only had that small of a foothold in the galaxy? And that the resistance seemingly were at their demise but yet there were hundreds of star systems still loyal to the New Republic? Jesus.... this sequels really were bad at not making the First Order very powerful...
Disney should have stuck with the imperial remnant treating of the empire its far more realistic and makes for more compelling stories
In episode 8 they say that most MAJOR systems are part of the first order, not most systems period.
Also to be fair these systems are loyal to a Republic whose entire civilian government was blown up. The entire sequel trilogy takes place over a period of a few months to a year. They're officially part of an entity that does not practically exist.
@@reedcoffman3210
Compromise: Have the New Republic fight Imperial Remnants and warlords, like Thrawn, for a few years. The First Order, in turn, would be the remnants who were smarter by regrouping and rebuilding for the long game.
I'd be inclined to say that the video underestimated the size of the First Order. According to canon, most worlds associated with the "Centrist" (think of them more as centralists) political faction joined the First Order on their own. That was already about half of the republic and included a lot of the core worlds.
i love how the hutts just remain passive throughout basically the entirety of the galaxy's history
What about Lothal gaining independence from the Empire?
And the Chiss?
@@JoeBidenRealLife Chiss is Legends I believe.
Scott Krafft Chiss is in canon
Those are on the level of thousands of other systems doing the same. Not significant enough to place on a timeline of the galaxy just because the stories of some characters there were part of a show.

David Camacho Oh I apologize for writing an unclear comment. When I write “the movies do” I mean that all relevant Star Wars movies fit in between the time frame of TPM to ROTJ. There are still comics, books, video games and tv shows before as well as after that time frame that are quite good. On a whole other note, I completely agree with you on your opinion about Filoni.

Sorry to break it to you but the mandalorian happens around 10bby
@@ilikecheeseand4061 aby* the empire was already done i think
Mandalorian is 5 years post ROTJ or about 9 ABY. Still quite a ways ahead so at most we might glimpse the remnants of the Empire transitioning into the First Order but other than that I doubt we'll get much related to it.
NightmareTroubador Don’t hold your breath, Aftermath promised the same thing. Boba was hinted at still being alive, Palpatine was sensing what everyone thought was Snoke in the unknown regions before that, the Acolytes of the Beyond were very interested in Vader and a possible precursor to the Knights of Ren, all set around the same time as Mando, all forgotten by Kathleen and her hack “story group”.
@@Slender_Man_186 Well we've already seen the Empire in season 1and Moff Gideon is clearly being teased as a long term antagonist. It wouldn't be hard to include small hints about the forces hiding in the Unknown Regions. I don't expect anything big and Filoni and Favreau have proven so far to be better storytellers.
the Jedi was the reason why the galaxy is so messed up lmao
Why did Disney have to end the Galactic Civil War just one year after ROTJ? It would have been so much better to have it ended at least five or ten years after it!
It is very unrealistic authoritarian empires dont completely fall apart just because their leader died sure they might split into many factions but not completely fall apart like in disney canon
@@reedcoffman3210 that doesn’t really happen. If you watched mando you’d see that there’s still a lot of imperials left.
Here, watch this:
ua-cam.com/video/kGRIIVdOY1s/v-deo.html
@@reedcoffman3210 Some of them certainly do, like Alexander the Great's empire, the Mongol Empire, and Nazi Germany. Empires that are built around one person don't have much longevity, and being that Palpatine always planned on living forever it was not designed to last after his death. Everything was centered around him, and after he dissolved the senate there was no structure to create lasting stability. The Empire was never going to hold control over the Galaxy after Palpatine "died", and truthfully the Imperial remnants of legends aren't that different from the First Order/Sith Eternal in hiding. Both were very small for decades, only to come back after a long period of regrouping whether it be the First Order in canon or the Fel Empire in legends.
@@sirius940 Its annoying how people are just upset that legends stuff they liked isn't canon anymore and therefor declare anything else as not making sense without giving any deeper thought to it. Firstly it is perfectly plausible that a centralized military will dissolve rather quickly without its center. Furthermore it would be very underwhelming from a dramaturgical perspective if the conflict just continued eventually as if barely anything happened. The movies would just devolve into one of many footnotes within the overall story arch. Of course you could question the necessity of the Sequel Trilogy though at least they continued the main conflict within main saga. They would be very unwise to just let a new empire rise within some additional side story after Episode IX, continuing the disorder as if nothing really mattered. Though chances are they could mess that up of course.
I love how it all pieces together! Great job!
You might end up having to update this when the High Republic books come out.
Oh please nothing major is gonna happen during the high republic era
You put the new separatist union in the wrong spot. It'd also likely be much larger and centered on the Tion Cluster like the original CIS
Sadly, we don't know how powerful it was. It was just mentioned in a book once and never expanded upon.

Amazing video! I loved it!
The only problem I have with this is that by the time of Sidious’ broadcast, the First Order controlled large swaths of the galaxy, including at least Bespin, Endor, Jakku, Naboo, Corellia, Lothal, Thyferra, and Coruscant. You might want to update the map to reflect it in that case.

It's interesting seeing how many people are comparing Hutt Space to Switzerland. "Hutt Space" is an invented word referring to the region where Hutts (crime lords) are dominant and constantly in battle, not a singular neutral entity. 7:31 Imperial Era
9:49 New Republic Era
I love how in the Disney Cannon the New Republic is so stupid they just ignore 8 million Imperial remnants fleeing and the Republic having the combined navy and army equivalent to some badly designed bombers and no capital ships and the New Order some how couldn’t defeat that
The new canon has thrown any form of politics out the door because THe PrEQuELs HaD PoLItIcS aND nO oNe LikEs ThE PReqUEls!
Controversial Opinion: The Galactic Empire is basically the end result of Core Faction ideals. If the CIS had won the Clone Wars, it never would have happened.
if the CIS never existed, the Galactic Empire probably wouldn't exist either
Sidious was also playing Dooku, so no- he had to let the Republic win so the people would support him as Emperor
Oh wow good timing for me
Amazing music choice.
i miss Tython being the birthplace of the Jedi
Yeah but Thyton is still canon so nothing to sorry about
@ Well no originally Thyton was the first jedi temple, there was no need at all to change that.
@@airstrike9002 I can agree
they can at least could have shown thyton in last jedi
If I know my Star Wars astrography, I think that the Old Republic "bit" in the core was Tython
@@codeviper8665 That's correct
No, anakin Skywalker brought balance to the force by defeating the DARK SIDE not BOTH dark and light. It's not yin yang balance... it's the dark side is a corruption of the force.
Galactic Republic : We have war after war, when it will stop...
Hutt Space : We’ve seen it all..
Thousands of years of history skipped straight to the hyperdrive technology, such nice writing.
Great video! But I'd like to correct something.
You said that Anakin brought balance to the force by destroying both the Sith and the Jedi. Except, this isn't balance. What George Lucas has always meant by "balance" was never meant to be an equal amount of light and dark, but rather ONLY the light side. It's more accurate to describe the light side as the force in its purest form, and the dark side as just a corruption of the force.
Not at all. Light side only is super imbalancing.
It depends how you want to think of it, but more modern views are to detach Light Side and Dark Side from our own value judgements of Good and Evil. And describe them on their own terms. Some aspects of Dark Side we may value and some aspects of Light Side we may dislike.
I understood it in a similar though thats not exactly what Lucas meant with balance. The light side and the dark side are always there and without interference there is balance. Once you give in into the dark side however you will be overwhelmed by the associated negative emotions which will lead to actions that disrupt the balance. The positive emotions by the light side however won't cause any problems and desires which could disrupt the imbalance.
People seem to emphasize a bit too much on the idea of Jedi as agents of the light side and Sith as agents of the dark side (which is technically correct but can be confusing). Rather the Jedi should be understood as agents of balance and the Sith as agents of unbalance. The Jedi for example do not want to destroy the dark side, they can't and they know it. They just don't want anyone to give into the dark side, thats a detailed but important difference. It can be illustrated a bit more clearly with the negative emotion associated with the dark side: fear, there will always be fear. You can't just eradicate fear as if it will never exist. And fear itself isn't even that problematic yet. Though if you can't handle your fear and let yourself be consumed by it, then it will lead to destruction and causes harm eventually. Thats why a Jedi for example doesn't avoid fear (that would be fearful itself essentially and therefor doesn't make sense), but you face it and learn to handle and control it. --> Though keep in mind that the dark side is more than just its associated emotions of course.
But yeah. Many people seem to think of it as some line with two opposite ends and a neutral middle. And then you seem to have some kind of "measurable" position on that line. And that just doesn't make sense. A more accurate depiction to measure it would be maybe as two separate lines, one for the light and one for the dark side. And once you go too far on the dark side line, the light side line gets blocked, causing imbalance.
I don't think any other series has the same bad connotations to the word "canon"... I completely refuse to treat Disney trash as anything other than badly written fan fiction with a copyright license.
Disney if your listening make a series on the vong invasion of the galaxy
It probably shall make a Grysk invasion, who are replacing Vongs in canon
10:05 That "Geniuses" those who made that treaty and believed that the imperial remnants would plot nothing afterwards having much of their assets
36 ABY: After not receiving the entertainment they paid for, citizens of Earth sue George Lucas for obliterating the Star Wars Universe when he sold it to Disney for 4 Billion USD
I Consider everything beyond 20~ ABY to not be canon. Disneys new movies should be put in legends.
I think there's canon mentions of the Rakatan Empire now though I don't know if they detail exactly where they fit in now.
Do a video on the Expanded universe, i think it would be more interesting
