Last winter I was down with the flue, weak as can be. I 'm a woman that live in a remote old cottage on a Bronze age graveyard in the woods where the closest neighbour is about 1000 metres away. It was late during this rainy night when I suddenly heard someone trying to pry my window open. My dog sprung into action by running and hiding under the bed. 😆 Thankfully I can sing opera and called out quite forcefully, the sound stopped and I picked up the phone and called my closest neighbour (the police is 35 minutes away at best). She on the other hand called a younger male neighbour. Whilst awaiting his arrival, the perpetrator knocked on my door wanting me to open it. Let's just say I didn't. When my neighbour arrived, he patrolled my property (I have tons of outhouses) without finding the man. He then called another neighbour annd they went looking for him, then found him sleeping in a field. It was just a drunk bastard that had gotten lost, so they drove him to the busstop some kilometres away. If you are drunk and lost, don't start with trying to break in to get out of the rain, ask for help instead. I woiuld have let him sleep in one of the outhouses or called a cab.

Finally one I have a story for! I was in my parents' place in my room watching videos on my laptop. It was daytime on a weekday. All of a sudden a man opened the door to my room and was asking "Where do your parents keep their money?" I was startled until I realized the man was a uniformed cop. I later was told what happened. It turns out that as I was busy with my laptop, two burglars broke into the house. I was upstairs in bed with my laptop and didn't notice a thing. As they made their way upstairs, they have (luckily) opened the door to my brother's room, who was asleep. The burglars then realized the house was occupied, and rushed to escape without waking up my brother. While this was happening, my next door neighbor who was out on his porch, noticed the burglars breaking in and called the cops, who arrived shortly after the burglars left. They did not know the house was occupied and walked around, eventually waking up my brother, while I was _still_ blissfully unaware. I only realized anything was happening when they were scanning the house and reached my room as they were asking my brother questions. Also, since the cops arrived relatively quickly, they caught the burglars just around the corner and recovered all that was stolen. Not as dramatic as these stories, but still a fun story.

One day in the early 2010s my grandmother got home from her bowling league early to find aunt's boyfriend rifling through her jewelry. So my grandmother, who was 84 years old, and 4 foot 10 inches tall, beat the guy over the head with an ironing board until he was unconscious. She then trapped him in her closet and called the police. He was arrested and they got him on breaking and entering (he had stolen my aunt's key to my grandmother's house), grand-theft auto (he had also stolen the car my aunt used which belonged to my grandmother, who happily agreed to press GTA charges), attempted burglary, and several other crimes because turns out, he was an escaped convict. I never experienced anything like that, but I think the advice German police and some other experts give for situations like this is quite good. Step one: make sure you find a safe place. Either get out of the house if you can, or lock yourself into one of the rooms, also make sure they know you were there and are most likely calling police (if safely possible). 2: Try to remember important details like the licence plate if safely possible and call the police. Most likely your stuff is gone then, but at least you're still alive. Also, most intruders aren't there to hurt you, they really just want your valuables. If they can avoid you and avoid hurting you, most of them will do exactly that. Why get in trouble for assault and even murder if you can just get some stuff and escape?

11:21 😂 as a woman who has a weapon wall as well I’ve been using this exact scenario Every time I have to justify it to my family my exact words”people don’t frick with crazy especially when said crazy is screeching and holding a katana “
In SOME states, including NY, IL, CA among others, if you shoot an intruder, no matter what the justification, you are VERY LIKELY to go to prison. Self-defense is simply ILLEGAL in these states. The intruder, or his family, will then sue you for everything that you own. In those same states, if convicted, even the most violent criminals get very mild sentences, much less than a homeowner would get for attacking in self-defense.
When I was a little girl we came home from school to find a terrified man who had tried to break in and the dogs had him pinned down. Having already bit him twice he dared not move again.
I was not expecting to laugh at any of these stories but the "I'm going to screw you" story had me laughing so hard I needed to pause the video and the game I was playing while listening to it. 😆😂🤣
The blue heeler story is so true to my experience. My family has one and those puppers are very good at telling good verses bad. I also would never want to be on the end of their teeth. Since they can easily take a kick from a cow.
Why couldn't they just say Down syndrome instead of trisomy 21? People recognize the former more than the latter. Also, whoever was watching him should've been doing a better job. He obviously had the mind of a child but the body of a grown man and it would've been a very sad situation if someone was so scared by their home being invaded that they wounded or killed him out of fear. Especially because, when the brain is in panic mode, many people are the "act now, ask later" type. And if the children in the story didn't know of him, there's a chance that others in the neighborhood weren't aware of him living there or his condition either; meaning that if he'd broken into a home only containing a surprised and fearful adult, he could've very well been in mortal danger! I'm so upset to hear about that story, even if things turned out okay, because it could happen again with devastating results.
@@lcoq19 Because all redditors don't have English as their native tongue and what Downs syndrome goes by differs in different languages? And you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, why not volunteer and give those families a well deserved break? Then realise that you do need to sleep every once in a while or go to the toilet.
@@MsAnpassad I have my own child with different needs and do not get respite care. I understand just how exhausting it can be- especially since I've got no family locally anymore. That doesn't mean I don't still keep track of my child and make sure he's safe at all times. For those who can't do what I do, you look for respite care, day programs, etc. You don't just let your child (adult age or not) just run amok and let them potentially get hurt or killed because they don't know better than to not break into someone else's home. Just like the people who talk shit about child leashes but I'll tell you what- my child will not end up in a gorilla pit while on a child leash. Now, do you need a boost or can you hop down off that high horse on your own?
If someone is knocking weirdly on your door, make sure they know someone is home without opening the door. It's a common robbery tactic to determine if the house is empty.
We didn't lock our doors for the longest time because there was no crime where we lived. One night at 4 a.m., i thought i heard the doorknob rattle. I grabbed a butcher's knife and the sharpener and went to the front door, sharpening the knife and acting like i couldn't wait for the intruder to come in. After a few seconds, i decided that i was just hearing things. Just then, i heard someone run through the gate and slam it shut behind them. I laugh to myself, wondering what that guy was thinking.
Only kindness I got from cops or lawyers was the first one. Finally reported my crime, gave me a card to try and sign up for help for survivors. Got a call from the station, we can’t do anything. Got mail from victims services, do you have paper work for your crime? I felt like it was my fault all over again. Lawyers were like we can’t money from him if we sue for damages, I have several mental health issues from this. Forget the cops. Only therapy helps now.
Told him we had drinks outside 😂 A couple summers ago we had the windows open and forgot to lock one in the bathroom. In the middle of the night, a man crawled through the window and was talking to himself in the mirror. He also squirted shampoo all over the tub? lol he was on drugs if you couldn’t tell. My stepmom woke up and went in there and asked what he was doing. He said “I’m looking for my girlfriend” 😂 my stepmom said “I don’t know what you’re talking about but you need to leave” he said “but I’m thirsty” to which my stepmom said “follow me we have some in a cooler outside”. He followed her right out the door 😂😂 called the cops and they found him at our neighbors house eating ice cream sandwiches from the deep freezer in their garage.
The story of the Scottish mom and sword reminded me of when we Had a methhead couple drive into our driveway, they were known to go around trying to get drug money from people during the day and break into houses at night but their meth brains would pull up in a car with no muffler so We heard them pulling in at 12am, told our grandpa who is a giant bulky 6'5-7 Scottish man, that they were in the driveway and he stripped down to his underwear and grabbed his sword and he messed his hair up so it looked crazy and walked out to their car and in his Scottish accent he started talking like a crazy drunk Scottish man to them, circling their car and leaning against it, they went to back up out of the driveway but my grandpa blocked them, I watched through the window laughing the woman was crying And the man was so scared😂 then my grandpa started making small talk while waving his sword around still in his Scottish accent. Then my grandpa told them to leave and they sped away. Never seen them again. My grandpa always approached situations like this by playing crazy to traumatize them.

SOME FIREARM TIPS: 1.The amount of people that don’t have a round in the chamber already is wild to me. For anyone who isn’t in the gun world super deep or not as familiar, for handguhns, it is safe to keep a round in the chamber. Especially if you conceal carry and have a good holster, keep one in the head and safety OFF for striker fired tools. If it is a hammer fire, like a 1911, keep one in the chamber and the safety ON. 2.For shottys and other longguhns, do NOT keep one in the chamber, they are not built to be as drop safe and are much more likely to have a negligent discharge. Keep ammo away except for a designated home defense tool, in which case, best practice is to keep it loaded WITHOUT one in the chamber. 3. you do not need a bunch of bells and whistles on your tools but one thing you really need for home defense : GET AN ATTACHED FLASHLIGHT. Even a cheap one is better than nothing, but remember this is an investment for your family’s life and safety so not the best area to cheap out. 4. If you’re new to firearms, consider getting what is called a PCC. They are easy to control, lighting recoil, cheap ammo and comfortable to get used to. 5. YOU HAVE TO TRAIN WITH ANY TOOL, including shottys. You can’t “just aim in the general direction” go to the range a few times 6. Recommendations: Glock isn’t my favorite but they are very reliable and easy to get. Glock 17 or Glock 19 are standard. If you’re cool af you would get a Canik instead. Most important get what feels right. Shotty- mossberg 500 series. The mossberg maverick 88 is cheap (like $250), reliable and the best deal you will find. PCC- look up some yt vids on this one, “best pcc for home defense” will give you options here Rifle- AR15 is the gold standard but not my personal fav due to penetration AND courts rule harsher when they are used! Consider a more “grandpa “ tool like a mini 14, which is just as functional but looks more ranch style/80s vibes.
Almost forgot a super important one. If you get a firearm, get liability insurance! Cannot say this loud enough. I use USCCA, but do your own research and see what works for you. USCCA is a great option though (not sponsored)
The one with the sword gives me some hope that my long bow may be a good intimidation check for an intruder. Considering im five feet tall and the bow is CONSIDERABLY taller than me
This episode is not about home invasions as the target of an invasion is a person. Theses stories seem to be about robberies and or break ins. Some of the stories are though.
guns are evil and should not be owned by anyone. i had a shotgun for a few years but had to get rid of it because it kept talking to me like the green goblin mask telling me to kill people.
My God- if you have a gun for defense in any sense, you had better train with it and know how to use it because if you have to check if it's loaded, you're already doing it wrong. If you have a gun for defense and its not loaded and chambered, its useless. You usually don't get a second chance with split second decisions wherein your life is at stake, any cop could tell you that.
story 59: what do you mean he didn't get arrested, i'm not great with laws but i think kicking down someones door with intent to hurt people inside is a crime
These stories are why, despite being super far left, will always advocate for owning a gun for self defense. I do think that restrictions are in order and all that, I don't want the wild west, but as long as criminals can get them I want to have them as well.
When i was around 7 I can’t remember exact age I lived at my bungalow maternal grandmothers house in a joint family pretty common in India we have 2 gates to enter the house it imagine micheals house from Gta 5 the man rang the door bell at the front of the house and me being silly I opened it thinking it’s one of the servants that comes in around that time the man came in with a knife and my uncle and grand father grabbed bamboo scaffolding and beat the shit out of the man he ran away to the police station and told the cops it was his house and that we kicked him out of the house n beat him up he came back with 5 or so cops who we had a great relationship with since we were living there for nearly 40yrs no idea what happened to the guy but he def got locked up
That comment during the story of the man who got acid on his face was really shitty. You give publicity to this distressing crime that never got investigated only to continue implying that it was made up???
Story 49 didn't ring true ...

Story 59 I let out a loud: WHAT!? with an incredulous laugh. I want to know more but I know it would probably just be upsetting.
Thank you videomakers. I really like this channel and especially this narrator's personality.
my friend was home alone one time when a dude started trying to get in, jiggling the door handle, yelling, whatever
she called the cops and when they got there he was gone
saw that the front door had been keyed
the dude was either an ex or a former coworker of her roommate, (I don't recall) and they had a falling out
(roommate was not home at the time)
very scary for my friend
Story 17 was my favorite. By the way, the woman in the movie Brave is named Merida.
Story 11: why does the dispatcher have to have the ear full? Response times are not on dispatchers it's on officers. The dispatcher stayed on the phone with the OP, which was their job!
I got 2 brothers (Smith & Wesson) as in .357 Magnum. They give me all the protection I need.
My friend in the USA has an aa12 and after seeing this video I don’t think of it as overkill anymore
Almost got broken into three times in the last year, I'm taking notes lmfao
years ago when i just turned 18 (about 12 years ago by now) some guy broke into our basement (half open to the garden out back) and tried to sneak up the staircase. i just came home from work around 3am and was having a chat with my dad when we heard the first step of the basement stairs creeck. my dad sneaked into the hallway, i waited in the kitchen and when we heard the door open he ''somehow got scared'' and fell down the stairs straight onto the concrete floor. didn't get much further after we flew down the stairs and stopped him from leaving until the cops showed up.
11:21 😂 as a woman who has a weapon wall as well I’ve been using this exact scenario
Every time I have to justify it to my family my exact words”people don’t frick with crazy especially when said crazy is screeching and holding a katana “
I love the home alone reference in this. Also knew what it was immediately.
When I was a little girl we came home from school to find a terrified man who had tried to break in and the dogs had him pinned down. Having already bit him twice he dared not move again.
Love that they snuck in Home Alone like we wouldn't notice
I was waiting for someone to make up the story that meatcanyon did of Charlie breaking into Sneako's house
Damn, story 58 is crazy
Kinda hard to fall asleep to this
I was not expecting to laugh at any of these stories but the "I'm going to screw you" story had me laughing so hard I needed to pause the video and the game I was playing while listening to it. 😆😂🤣
The blue heeler story is so true to my experience. My family has one and those puppers are very good at telling good verses bad. I also would never want to be on the end of their teeth. Since they can easily take a kick from a cow.
To the OP from story 16: you didn't have a reccuring nightmare, it was a reccuring WARNING telling you to keep your window shut every night
My house never got robbed so idk what to comment
Now, do you need a boost or can you hop down off that high horse on your own?
many of these stories make me realize why my dad hates the police so much…
If this ever happens to me, I got a deer antler to defend myself. The thing is bone solid. Literally.
I got a metal toy rifle in my room and a knife hidden somewhere.
That final story and personal outro statement were gold.
If someone is knocking weirdly on your door, make sure they know someone is home without opening the door. It's a common robbery tactic to determine if the house is empty.
That kid got home alone but actually home alone
We didn't lock our doors for the longest time because there was no crime where we lived. One night at 4 a.m., i thought i heard the doorknob rattle. I grabbed a butcher's knife and the sharpener and went to the front door, sharpening the knife and acting like i couldn't wait for the intruder to come in. After a few seconds, i decided that i was just hearing things. Just then, i heard someone run through the gate and slam it shut behind them. I laugh to myself, wondering what that guy was thinking.
Proof you can't rely on the police. There's no reason not to have a firearm ready at home.

Told him we had drinks outside 😂
A couple summers ago we had the windows open and forgot to lock one in the bathroom.
I survived it with a 12 ga and the man stopped doing everything....

Best grandpa ❤
Man, you alwas think "No, I'd know what to do!" But the panic kicks in, and you cant think properly. Not a victtim myself, thank god, but i know panic is is a hell of a drug.
SOME FIREARM TIPS:
1.The amount of people that don’t have a round in the chamber already is wild to me.
You can’t “just aim in the general direction” go to the range a few times
PCC- look up some yt vids on this one, “best pcc for home defense” will give you options here
Rifle- AR15 is the gold standard but not my personal fav due to penetration AND courts rule harsher when they are used!
I disagree with the canik part. Caniks aren’t bad, but you can just admit you’re broke😂
47:33 [insert Home Alone "Kevin!" GIF here]
The one with the sword gives me some hope that my long bow may be a good intimidation check for an intruder. Considering im five feet tall and the bow is CONSIDERABLY taller than me
Nice way to sneak in a Hazbin Hotel reference.
It's really weird that a channel like this isnt AI/TTS 🤨
This episode is not about home invasions as the target of an invasion is a person. Theses stories seem to be about robberies and or break ins. Some of the stories are though.
It's easy enough for a bad situation to get worse, especially if there's nothing to take.
we didnt........my bf was murdered during ours, they shot him first then robbed us
That must have been unbelievably traumatic. I am so sorry. I wish you all the best and hope you recover. 🙏🏻❤️🩹
People will do everything after an experience like these except buy a freaking gun. Stay safe y’all and arm yourself!

@@brinleyisawesome6398 lol good one. You’ve got tibia self defense expert of sorts. And a comic too 🤣
guns are evil and should not be owned by anyone. i had a shotgun for a few years but had to get rid of it because it kept talking to me like the green goblin mask telling me to kill people.
Even a golf club or axe handle would be something that could be used for self defense. But whatever you choose, practice with your weapon.
@@autisticboi2992 I think you're schizophrenic.
Ah, America, where the police are so bad, your lucky if your in a state that lets you be Judge, Jury, and Executioner when you can.
RIP 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Had one, dude decided to nope the fuck out when faced with the barrel of a shotgun.
the last story omgs 😭
story 59: what do you mean he didn't get arrested, i'm not great with laws but i think kicking down someones door with intent to hurt people inside is a crime
story 58 is just home alone plot 💀
We’re drawing good with this one
this is why shotguns are the best self defense weapons, cheap, effective, and terrifying
Birdshot, buckshot, birdshot, buckshot, slug, slug, slug.
First thing their in your house, second, their all over your house.
Nah, I wouldn’t really recommend shotguns for home defense unless it’s a apartment complex. ARs and AKs are a more optimal for home defense
@@smolwheat8266 no way, using a heavy rifle in an APARTMENT is the worst choice, if you miss It could penetrate your walls and hit your neighbors :/

Question. Whats Trisomy 21?
I think its Down Syndrome, you can fact check me on that
Story 16 : the nightmares may have been a warning 😨
What game is playing in the background? It looks really fun.
These stories are why, despite being super far left, will always advocate for owning a gun for self defense. I do think that restrictions are in order and all that, I don't want the wild west, but as long as criminals can get them I want to have them as well.

Last one is a perfect example of why you don't leave guns loose around the house ESPECIALLY if you have kids
When i was around 7 I can’t remember exact age I lived at my bungalow maternal grandmothers house in a joint family pretty common in India we have 2 gates to enter the house it imagine micheals house from Gta 5 the man rang the door bell at the front of the house and me being silly I opened it thinking it’s one of the servants that comes in around that time the man came in with a knife and my uncle and grand father grabbed bamboo scaffolding and beat the shit out of the man he ran away to the police station and told the cops it was his house and that we kicked him out of the house n beat him up he came back with 5 or so cops who we had a great relationship with since we were living there for nearly 40yrs no idea what happened to the guy but he def got locked up
Why is there always a movie plot included?
Bro Story 58 sounds like Home Alone lol
That's the joke…
That comment during the story of the man who got acid on his face was really shitty. You give publicity to this distressing crime that never got investigated only to continue implying that it was made up??? There was a story just a few minutes before about the cops thinking a robbery call was a prank and you didn’t comment on the validity of that one at all.
Idk.
Story 6 they didn’t clean it up??

Down's syndrome, it's called that because people with Down's syndrome have 3 copies of chromosome 21 instead of 2.
