I love lore but I would never go hate on fwhip or anyone else for creating an amazing server and instaurating any rule they want. If people miss lore so much they can go watch other perspectives of empires or any other serie instead of watching this one if they don't like it!..

the no lore rule makes it more fun actually because everyone has to try so hard not to lore, and it gives me a break from all the lore series ive watched in the past. im very very happy he didnt quit sos!!
Don't listen to the haters man, the no lore thing is really funny tbh. Hilarious to watch all these creators who will make lore out of literally anything joking around about NOT having lore for once! And anyone who's hating isn't worth giving the time of day.
I love the “no lore” rule. Sometimes it’s good to have an smp relaxed, and the banter all the creators put together because of the “no lore” and to “bend the rules” is awesome to watch. Good job sharing what was hard for you, especially about the internet.
The fact that people have been cruel to you with this series is not okay. What people really need to understand is that if your friends weren't okay with what is going on then they wouldn't still be making content with you or even be on a server that you are hosting. I feel like this is a lot of sausage fans that are upset and people don't realize he isn't really upset by this rule. (If if was like I said wouldn't be in this series.) I personally am glad that you are still making this because I love watching all the interactions that you have with your friends. Your friend group acts very similar to mine (At least online) which could be a reason why I can understand that no one is truly upset. That and I am 28 and realize adults when they have issues normally work issues out behind the scenes. Sorry that the community hasn't been nice to you on the no lore thing.
Especially since this is their job. At the end of the day this smp is a work project, no matter how fun, so of course they'd discuss every detail in order to cooperate and work as seamlessly as possible.
If it is Sausage's fans that are the source of all the hate then Sausage needs to take ownership of that. One reason I've not enjoyed watching his videos is all the complaining he does. Given most of his fans are young it makes sense that they're unable to tell that is fake complaining and think that by bullying fWhip they can 'make it better' for Sausage by reversing the no lore rule.
@@SevCaswell Definetly not. Sausage is not responsible for the actions of a (tiny minority) of his fans. It's not ok to blame someone for the actions of others. Sorry but that's a really immature take. Sausage is not encouraging this behaviour, if he was that would be a different kettle of fish, but he's obviously not.
@SevCaswell The Sausage fans thing was more of something that I had observed. Sausage should not be expected to tell his fans to stop. I do think that he has made it more obvious that it is a joke. But that is really all he can do. The younger audience on UA-cam often times has a sense of justice. With it being a parasocial relationship, it makes it hard for kids to understand that their favorite content creators are not their friends. They truly think the creator is there for them, and they want to be there for the creator. Unfortunately, that leads to things like how fWhip is being treated. I believe that something similar happened with him in empires season 1 when he was in an antagonist role against Jimmy.
They should not be expected to have to tell their fans to stop every video or live stream. I do believe that their was a stream where sausage did mention that it was a joke and he wasn't made or upset. Oli even came out on the sos sub reddit to say that no one is actually upset at sausage and that it is a joke.
The part I love the most about your SMPs is seeing the actual real life friendship between you and the other players. The lore in Empires was fun but the best part is seeing how you all interact as friends!

- I'm mostly interested in watching good builders build, so I don't care much about lore.
- Forget about haters, be strong. You bring beauty and creativity on youtube, and we are grateful for that.
- Cooperative challenges are a great addition to the server formula (in terms of content and philosophy).
- I always forget the "mobs in a boat don't despawn" thing. In combination with the creeper + lightning rod technique, yep, that's amazing, think you for sharing the idea.
- You can only get one head from one creeper explosion, even when it kills several mobs. Don't have it blow on a random chicken.

Step 1: make an obsidian box
Step 2: get Scott to give you his pickaxe
Step 3: lure Scott in obsidian box
Step 4: come back after two weeks

Its refreshing and really different from the other SMPs out there. Having a NO LORE RULE is yes, a bit risky decision BUT a very good decision too.
As many might have noticed, almost all minecraft youtubers now a days, seem to go back to vanilla playing minecraft.
Meaning the toll on these youtubers who kept on pushing out content is there.
So just having fun with friends and new friends while adding the twist of getting revive by friends is really a thumbs up.

I’ve never been into “Minecraft UA-camrs”. I like watching people play it (I watched markipler and pewdiepie play a few years ago. But I don’t understand the craze with minecraft/SMP environment lately. fWhip is currently 1 of 2 minecraft channels I’m subbed to. I love his videos and his streams. I love watching him build and he’s so good at it and good at entertaining and being nice. I was worried when I saw he was starting an SMP. But so far I’ve been loving it! I love that there’s still a solid building portion of the video. But the interactions are good too. Instead of charaters and backstory, it just feels like a letsplay with friends. Which is totally my vibe. I’m so glad there’s no “lore”, it makes it so much more approachable.
You just started SOS. It's a great series with new creators. As you said at the beginning its a SMP for you and your friends not for gremlins on the internet. Keep your chin up you have more supporters then haters. Loving the series!!

I feel like people forget that smp's like this have a lot of discussion before being made and even more so while it goes on. Theres no reason for someone to be hateful just because they misunderstand something simple as enforcing not having "lore".

I personally love the no-lore rule and I find the "no-lore!" joke really funny so its sad to hear some people are mean :( like sausage being "banned" had me chuckling for a while XD (sausage going "im British innit" and the group going "thats lore!" and sausage panicked "no, no lore, im American!" plays in my head randomly lol)
I saw Blocky mention the real talk thing on the server, and I was glad to see such an outpouring of love there too
I'm all for people having fun and creating stories, but it can get confusing. I've appreciated the simplicity that this series has offered. Its been pure banter with no plot; nothing that I'd need to understand a giant backstory for. A bunch of friends having fun with each other

As a long-time viewer (shoutout to 2018-19-era Building with fWhip) and someone who’s probably about the same age, it’s been so wonderful seeing your channel evolve and grow to such a level of success! It makes me happy to see creators whose content got me through grad school make a living sharing such expressive and joyful work. It’s disappointing to hear about this nasty behavior by some viewers - it’s totally understandable and reasonable that this would negatively affect you. Thank you for sharing what has been happening to you lately in terms of unwarranted hate. :( As a non-Twitter user, I never would've seen the post or become aware if you hadn't mentioned it on-screen in a video. That's really unfortunate and deeply unnecessary. As a lore-lover, Minecraft SOS has been TONNES of fun for me -- one of the most enjoyable SMPs so far, and Empires has been a beloved series for me for years! It is a fun change of pace to have folks be able to be more casual, and for goodness' sake... a) it's YOUR server, b) the fates? resurrection? the entire mechanism of the world is effectively lore; you've just asked people to engage with the fabric of the world as it's presented rather than adding a lot of extraneous content to bog the pace down; and c) I'm so glad you chose to stay and not to move into a mod-only role, and to share with the community that this has been happening. You deserve to hear all the appreciation and enthusiasm and praise for the great series you've made and the great work you've been doing in the world with your own builds and escapades. Those voices are a loud minority and I hope they feel appropriately chastened. The vast majority of your community stands with you and is here to support you and cheer you on in however you want to have fun on the server!!!!

Hey fwhip, it's really hard to be honest about that kind of thing so good for you. I really love the no lore rule myself, since my favourite part of let's plays is to just friends be friends on the same server. Adding my two cents on being glad that you haven't ended the series for yourself and I hope you're able to find good solid ways to offset the difficulty of shitty people being shitty. It sucks that it's a reality, and good luck finding ways to take care of yourself through it.

I think we can all see that the no lore rule is a breath of fresh air for you all so you don't have to justify every decision you guys make. Hi, as someone who found the Empires group through the Hermitcraft group, I really appreciate the break in lore. Its giving me a chance to A) catch up on some of the lore and B) get a feel for the creators as people outside of a fixed character. Sausage is a prime example, there is just SO much lore and inside stuff i didn't watch much of his perspective last empires, but i have watched his episodes for SOS, subbed and am taking the time to run through the past series so i will know the lore. So, don't let people ruin your fun. This is a good break to let new people catch up and everyone seems to be having a blast.

I actually prefer no lore honestly. It's just a bunch of friends playing a game. I imagine it's a bit easier for everyone playing too. No need to come up with storylines or role play to the nth degree. Not saying I disliked empires btw, I enjoyed it, particularly Gobland. I tend to put these on when I wind down to go to sleep so not having to follow a storyline is helpful in that regard.
I love the “no lore” rule as it adds a funny level of humour and interactions at the best moments.(it’s also fun watching sausage try to weasel his way through it)

I'm actually in love with the no lore rules, and I don't think I would have picked up SOS as intensely as I did without it. I love this crew but Big Storylines TM tend to fly over my head, so this is the perfect sweet spot for me. I'm glad you're receiving a lot of support because you deserve it!! This is incredible fun and you put a lot of work into it!
FWhip please continue playing and sharing! I am sorry you felt bad about hate comments, people who leave hate messages about such things as *missing lore* are immature, such comments are usually unavoidable regardless of whatever the subject is, someone always will complain. Please try not to sink in those, Im subscribed to all of you guys and many creators unfortunately deal with hate spam, but it would be even more unfortunate and a complete shame to stop uploading or playing with friends because of that.
I know it doesn't mean much, but I love the no lore part of SOS. It's why I'm a huge hermitcraft fan and usually don't keep up much with Empires. I've been really loving SOS and have been keeping up with a bunch of the members. I think this is such a fun SMP ❤
Real fans take lore or no-lore smps and are just excited to see their favorite creators getting to make content they enjoy! I know from my personal view that any series I enjoy are usually the ones that people seem to be having fun with. SOS has been fun to watch! :D I hope people can treat creators with respect and let them continue to make their own decisions on projects they manage. Keep up the great work!

Sorry to hear people aren’t being kind! Honestly it’s a big reason why I don’t do social media much, hate and drama everywhere! I love this series and I think the no lore bit is hilarious. It’s not easy, but just know there are more of us out here who love your content/ideas, just unfortunately the ones who speak up loudest tend to be negative (squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that).

I LOVE the no lore rule, this is the first smp I've ever followed and it's so nice to just be bale to jump into it and enjoy watching creators without having to worry about keeping track of three hour streams from eight different people who are all using storylines that have been running for like multiple years. The no lore meme is also hilarious and I really enjoyed your PRETTY OBVIOUS bit where you play into it a little as the ominous server admin against All Lore. Thank you for sharing and for creating such a great series!
I don’t know why people are so entitled to be mean. Honestly the “no lore” stuff is so funny to me, especially watching the other content creators try to find the loopholes. For me it’s comedic effect. I’m sorry people are the way they are - I would imagine it’s harder for people on UA-cam and streams than like movie/tv actors because things are so immediate and harder to ignore. You’ve always been one of my favorite content creators and I love the different SMPs you’ve spearheaded. Thanks for being you!
I drew the same conclusion about Creators vs Actors, and completely agree with your sentiment! The players on SOS SMP are Minecrafters first and choose to play characters based on the series they participate in. Yes it can be more difficult for viewers to make that digression compared to actors versus the characters they play in a show. That doesn't make it okay for viewers to hate on the creators just because they decided not to play out a character for once.

@@lovely__shadow9305 this series is a more casual server, they didn't want to have planned background for "characters". Seems like fWhip wanted a series just having fun with server members/friends. Lore can take planning and work.

For the creeper head task, try splashing the non-charged ones with poison to make sure they're at 1/2 a heart, then use flint & steel on the charged one and RUN!
PS Don't let the haters get you down, you have FAR more supporters than detractors. This is a great series and I for one love the fact that the "no lore" rule means no one is trying to take over the SMP's narrative with their own character's story. There's also less pressure for viewers to watch EVERY SINGLE VIDEO from EVERY SMP member IN ORDER so they can follow the storyline and not miss some bit of Lore that ends up being important later. I think the rule was a great decision and I'm so sorry you've received so much hate for it. Thank you for deciding to continue playing, I've loved all your videos!

FWhip! I hae been following your channel for a good 5 years now and have seen you grow into this role as one of my favorite builders and content creators for minecraft. I am so so glad you decided to put this server up and am thoroughly enjoying seeing you guys interact and build!! With anything (but specifically with social media) there will always be a cycle of hate and negativity from people who are unhappy in general. It could be to make them feel better, to help them feel in control, or because MISERY LOVES COMPANY! Just know that there are good people who support you wholeheartedly in your endeavor to create. The people who love what you do will be here supporting you and that should be your focus! Easier said than done... but I believe in you! You totally rock and inspired me to keep playing this game that I adore even though people tell me im too old!! Thanks for all you do!

sos has easily become my favourite new smp series, i like the no lore aspect, it brings in the classic feeling of minecraft smp's where its simply just friends playing minecraft together, keep up the good work fwhip you're doing great and the content has been so amazing lately

The fact that there are haters for the "no lore" rule is so wild to me because its just a cute cheeky little bit? People are so clearly having fun idk why people are making problems.
Honestly i LOVE sos and its the only smp ive ever seriously followed, or been interested in following. Someone made a playlist of all the smp videos in order and ive been working my way through it for the past week or so. I love the "vanilla plus" setting and how everyone is pretty casual and build focused but also having fun interractions with everyone. I think the fate coins and the weekly challenges on the server are so well designed to have a balance between people doing their own thing and having stuff to do together, with the hardcore stakes and rising fate coin costs raising the drama.
Ive heard fwip talk on streams about how much hes missed being in an smp and how much he wanted to do something like this, and it sucks so much thats he's getting hate for it when the series is so good??? The vibes of everyone are great, i love the light ribbing and playfulness that never gets to serious, and im loving watching the server grow!
All that to say id be gutted if fwip stopped doing the series, and i hope the mean people stfu. Fwip and sos are great and deserve better.

Hi fWhip! I don’t know if you will see this. I’m a long time lurker and almost never comment on UA-cam videos. But I feel the need to say that as someone who has never watched a single SMP, I don’t even really know what SMP means (I honestly felt a negative vibe surrounding them) I was so curious when your started one. But you’re my favorite minecraft creator so I watched it. And the “no lore” rule makes it WAY more accessible to a new watcher. It makes more simple and I don’t want to have to know 10 different characters backstory MCU style lol. I just really love the vibe of friends hanging out and building fun stuff and helping each other and doing silly challenges and maybe some friendly trolling along the way. Its entertaining and cozy. I’m so sorry you are getting hate for putting out such great videos (that people don’t have to watch if they don’t want. It’s not like you stoped hardcore.) Anyway, I love you fWhip! 💙

It's really sad that people can't see that the "no lore" rule is both a server wide joke and actually about not having big story archs/plotlines that stop server mates from interacting with each other, which is something that became a pretty big problem with Emp S2 where it was obvious that not being able to interact with your friends who were online made you not want to play on the server even though you did love the build style you had going in Gobland. Don't let the ingnorant fools get you down. You're content is incredible and brings joy to so many people.

There's a song (from Tool I think) that says "Don't expect anything from the wounded". The people that write hateful comments are "wounded" inside, and what they say is about them, not about you. Everything we say is a reflection of who we are inside, not about the other person. You are creating an awesome series, don't stop! Even though it may be hard, forget about the haters. I absolutely LOVE the no-lore rule. I know different people like what they like, but it seems haters hate more loudly than lovers. So here's my support for this SMP, which I've enjoyed more than any roleplay based SMP I've seen.
It broke my heart reading your post on Twitter. As someone who struggles with their mental health, I commend you for speaking out about this and for continuing on in this server! I love watching your videos, and I have loved this series.
Can I just say that the first thought that came into my mind upon hearing about the no lore rule was that I was glad that this is a series about just good friends hanging out with each other. We see so many smp on YT with heavy law so i was really happy to get some new air
I think a little cave for some of the animals near the coast could be nice
if you want to gather snow from a snowman faster, you can set them in between two different blocks and they'll cover both of them and you can gather snow twice as fast

I love the "no lore" rule. The constant "no lore" bit is hilarious and its wonderful to see everyone interacting as friends. Don't listen to the haters. This series is great
am actually loving the no lore part, it can get too much especially if you have your own irl stuff as a viewer, cannot image how much it is mentally as cc. its nice to have a break from it all glad you kept going am loving the series so far!! very unique!!

Don’t listen to those hater fWip. Not everything has to be about lore and this is actually really refreshing that there is no lore. I just love watching people play Minecraft like this and not worry about coming up with stories and stuff like that. It’s nice to actually see people play and goof off with each other.❤

As someone who suffers with mental health I am glad you have decided to carry on posting sos videos. Watching you and other minecraft UA-camrs helps me to not get too down and depressed. I hope the people who have been sending hate will realise that words do really hurt at times and that it costs nothing to be kind and "Treat others how you wish to be treated yourself" sending love from the UK. ❤

Tip for the charged creeper you cpuld make a path to the other creepers and light it with flint and steel from the outside using slabs to maximize saftey. Thank you for another great video
I don't often watch Minecraft UA-camrs, I LOVE Minecraft though and am always on the lookout for good Minecraft related content. I've never watched an SMP before, ironically, the lore takes me out of it. So this is absolutely refreshing, and makes me want to start a realm (bedrock player) with some of my friends. Love the videos man, please keep it going. Eff all the haters. (Pardon my French.)

I'm so glad you decided to continue with this series. People just need to understand that if you don't like something, you can simply stop watching. It's never ok to bully someone who's creating content to be enjoyed because you don't enjoy it. This is content created to be enjoyed and something that he clearly enjoys making. Your speech about mental health and kindness on the internet genuinely made me cry. No one, let alone a person as amazing as you, deserves thar kind of treatment. I'm so sorry thar there would be anyone on this earth too selfish to see that. It is so easy to forget humanity online, where you can't see their face, can't read their expression, and see how hurt they really are. I'm glad you had the bravery to be someone who came out and took a stand. Hateful people nurture hateful hearts because they hate themselves. Don't let them ruin what amazing positivity you show us in your videos, and I hope that you can recover from that dark place where you were. ❤
