Chunk difficulty is a thing
@@aivarsgraudins8423even with maxed out local difficulty it's still less than a 0.01% chance for that to spawn
it’s not rare, if you play on hard difficulty, and your chunk difficulty is high
It is still pretty rare often needing 24h to find one even with this farm

5:23 Its actually more effecient to build your mob farms with a two block wide water funnel, because with the trapdoors the mobs will see the other spawning platforms as valid spots to walk to, increasing their chance to fall into the water.
Wanted to point that out for your future farms!
The reason three block wide funnel does not work as good is they see: Solid Block (Trapdoor) > Air > Solid Block (Trapdoor) vs with a two block funnel: Solid Block (Trapdoor) > Solid Block (Trapdoor) but with the trapdoors being open, they just fall into the water.
I agree that it would be the better choice, the only potential problem I see is that you then get spiders stuck in the mob farm, since they're 2 blocks wide and don't fall into the chutes, since the trapdoors make the chutes thinner.
But that would be fixed by just blocking spider spawns with carpets or string, and spiders are always super unpredictable in chute-style mob farms regardless because they can climb blocks.
I usually do, but the entire base was built centered around Grotto's pool which is an odd number of blocks. So I couldn't figure out how to make a 2x2 drop chute look good hahaha
@@Mogswamp ya know, fair enough. Sometimes it's worth it to have a reduction in efficiency for aesthetic reasons - and it's not like you were lacking in mob drops. Since there aren't normal caves in that superflat preset, you probably had very few mobs spawning outside the mob farm as well.

If you haven't already, I would love to see you tackle the Ocean World superflat preset. This was the preset that actually got me really into playing on superflat worlds, so it'd be cool to see what you do with it!

28:51 to your information. Villager stations dont work when there is a block directly over the station or the villager (at least that is what i read)
Also the Smithing tables would cause the villagers to want those instead of the lecterns.

I'm so glad you're doing this series, when I was younger I loved playing the superflat presets & would play them more than regular generation stuff! It's been awesome to relive the fun I had in superflat again, even if now I've transitioned into playing more of the base generation recently!
I was blown away that not many people on UA-cam seem to have tried any of the non-default superflat presets in survival! Only very small channels. I wonder how many others like you have tried the challenge independently?

Here's more information on the presets you haven't done yet if you wanted to know.
The Void preset is probably impossible since no mobs can spawn, but I'm not really sure about the wandering trader. I also have no idea about Redstone Ready. That one has a lot of blocks and even ores, but no structures spawn. Bottomless Pit is just like a regular superflat world but with cobblestone instead of bedrock. Overworld is just regular superflat too but with more blocks and decoration. Snowy Kingdom would be more of a challenge like the desert one, but not impossible. Snowy Villages and Igloos can generate in this one. Another big challenge would be the Water World, since Ocean Ruins can spawn here to give you wood. It would probably be too hard to swim all the way down though.

Water world seems the most entertaining as the next one. Mog would need to ofc modify the map before the run so he can safely spawn underwater, otherwise him doing essentially water block isn't gonna do much
It's not impossible, just the timing is very tricky. Magma blocks that spawn in the ruins are helpful. You just have to sprint swim to the surface to not drown

These 100 day videos are why I stay subscribed, all vids aren’t for everyone but these are 100% for me. Watching the improvements and planning and harvesting and designing preach to my neurodiverse brain. The production value and narration is also fantastic and keeps the focus level at 10.

Honestly, I was surprised you weren’t going to use TNT for mining, but there is no real way to get sand is there? Especially if you’re not duping, though a Creeper conga line might be good, throw a lingering health potion & they’ll heal you right up with their explosions XD
I think neither Respawn Anchors & End crystals help too but idr
Really love the greenhouse idea as well!!! putting the dragon egg there is a flex, but it’s also down and the way that it’s just so open and homely, like it’s not trying to flex, it’s showing a world well lived, and that’s amazing mate X3c it also helps that the greenhouse itself is lovely~

Hello, Mogswamp! I just wanted to thank you. I saw one of your shorts, saying that it's okay to play with keep inventory on. I only played on creative because I was too afraid to play on survival and lose everything when dying. But when I heard one of my idols saying that it's ok made me realise that there's no wrong or right way to play on survival or in Minecraft in general. 2 months later, I just got an elytra and I'm currently grinding for 3 wither skeleton skulls. Pro speedrunning tip: You can trade with piglins for pearls, obsidian and fire resistance. (pearls and obsidian for beating the game, fire resistance as a counter to blazes, since they don't shoot you but only deal meele damage)
before you started doing these i played the water world preset with my friends and while we werent really trying that hard it was a lot of fun i think you try it! our strategy was to find a sunken ship that had a door in it and then we tunneled down until we had enough resources to make an island

you should try 100 days without going to the service at all. even start underground. its technically probably possible with the no caves world like this. but i would add caves just to make it more interesting. i'd love to see how much you could do with that. snack on glow berries until you get wheat from the grass in a lush cave, get your wood from mineshafts (oak logs spawn as their support too) maybe even getting the wandering trader is possible eventually if you have a big enough space ? (idk how his spawning works lmao) i think this would be a neat challenge
