Fella do what's right for you. Glad to see you back on the bank. Remember the channel was always for you and your journey. We all watch because it's you, and don't try too hard to make it blockbuster quality. We all loved you from the start keeping it reel😉.

Balance and perspective gives longevity to most things in life. What really matters are relationships with those closest to you. You're resetting that balance. Well done, many can't.

I have been fishing since i was a young kid, i am now 56. When i first got married, i carried on fishing, then we had a son. My fishing virtually stopped! I still watch fishing and go occasionally, but my time spent with my wife and my son are more precious to me. Fishing is important for relaxation, family life is more important to me. Tight lines.

Ric, I am one of the lucky ones that stumbled across your channel in the early days on the Chase. I have watched you grow your talent over the years from those early days and seen how dedicated you have been, from developing your own brand to working with the finest in Ridgemonkey and DNA. It doesn`t always go to plan in life though, and it`s true that the more you put in then the more you get out of it. True talent will always shine through and I am sure the future is going to be good for you.

You work to live not the other way round. It's called work life balance but NEVER jeopardise your family and you will find fishing so much more enjoyable. All the best in the future

Just wanted to say love your content and fair play for putting this video out there . Fair play for making changes that are right for you and not get stuck in a rut with something you are not happy with. So many people just put up with stuff . Good on you for taking that step to make things better for yourself and others around you. 💪🏼

When my daughter was born i carried on carp fishing alot, quick over nighters on work nights ect,but i was missing time at home with family, and when i was home i was shattered.not been carp fishing in years now, when me daughter grows up a bit i will get going again maybe.but now i do a bit of lure fishing and feeder fishing down the river ect,and it has been amazing to go back to my original fishing roots.growing up on small rivers,i realised i had forgotten what fishing was all about and that carp fishing was just a small part of it.

Burn out can be a difficult beast to battle, but very eye opening at the same time, to see what matters most. Sounds like you’ve made the right choices. 👍 On the opposite side of the world here but at a similar point recovering from burnout and focusing on family and my own fishing. As some of the other comments touched on I enjoy smaller quality creators more than the big brands, subbed. 👌

Well done Ric for being so brave to tell us how you are feeling. Your probably never know how many but I am sure your video will help others that are maybe feeling down about something open up to the friends. When a job begins to harm your leisure time it really is time to take stock on whether its worth continuing to do it. Good luck in your new job and I look forward to watching more of your videos.

I never got to the level of working in the industry, but I burned out several years back. I felt like I didn't have anything left to do in fishing. It took about 5 years to get back into the groove with maybe a dozen sessions in those years.
It's difficult when you've got bills to pay and people relying on you, but sometimes you've got to do something for yourself.

New sub… I just found you through this video.. I find I fall out of love for the film making and the editing, I’ve never been able to sit still but when I’m in the mood to edit I’ll do it for hours and days on end and then I’m burnt out I don’t do it for weeks and footage builds up, am still editing bits from 2022 on my Channel haha. Big up for the video mate takes alot to say things like this ❤

Unfortunately carp fishing has moved away from angling and continues to do so. They were never my favourite fish but I do still miss those early days of solitude and connection to the environment and that is very very hard to find today. If you are lucky to do so you are very aware the hordes are right behind you. To work in it must have been exhausting. Try out some other species and see if you can find what you're looking for there. Worked for me. Best of luck with future angling

Sometimes things happen which just SHOULDN'T happen,,, and that sucks everything out of you. Last week i was on a commercial carp fishery, paid good money for a days fishing.. I was on a platform, netted a fish,,, turned around and went to walk off the platform as my unhooking matt was behind on the grass....
My leg fell down a feffing big hole at the back of the platform and i had a very nasty fall and nearly broke a leg! I made an official note of the incident to the people running the place (Woodlands Lakes - Thirsk N.Yorks) and instead of receiving an apology and perhaps a free days fishing or something for my nasty experience.... they just took the piss!
To say i was disgruntled was an understatement, i was beyond fuming! Remember it is their responsibility to make things safe as you are paying.. Anyway the low life trash family abused me on social media and tried to make out i was at fault!!!!
Moral of the story is,,, don't get mad, get even!
