What a legend. Robert Englund seems like the coolest and most laidback, approachable guy you could ever hope to meet. I truly hope someday he'll get to reprise Freddy, I have no doubt he has it in him to reprise the character a decent number of times at his age.
He looks so good dressed up! An irreplaceable sweet man! Love how you can see Freddy & see why he was casted. I'm glad he is still here & we still see his genius work. Great movie. I loved how in that movie you can see Freddy's face in the kid's oatmeal. I so wish their would of been a Freddy vs Michael. I hope Robert does one more!
The way Robert Englund describes the movie, it sounds like in his mind, this is the same Freddy from all the movies. Even in another interview, he says "Freddy HIMSELF". and not "That demon pretending to be me." Even Craven said that the script wasn't intended to make it sound like it's a different Freddy but they had no time to change the dialogue to make it sound different.
love robert englund and i loved new nightmare~ i saw it in theatres when it came out and the scene where freddy popped out the closet and says miss me?i jumped out lol!
Wes Craven (R.I.P.) was responsible for 2 or 3 of the most groundbreaking films in the horror genre (Nightmare on Elm Street, New Nightmare, Scream). New Nightmare receives its fair share of criticism, none of which I find to be entirely undue, but it was truly the first meta horror film.
Fantastic interview. Robert Englund is always great to listen to because he’s so passionate about his craft.
