Not sure if you've ever considered this idea but why not create your own switch pro controller?, like find someone with a 3d printer, take parts from 3rd party controllers like this one and others you have lying around, that would definitely be interesting seeing you making one just for the fun of it, in a video of course lol
Honestly I really have been thinking about this as well. Especially as the guy knows a lot about what is quality in controllers I assume, so his idea of a controller would really be something to watch. If it was 30 mins long I'd probably watch it all
Can't really complain much about this controller for it's asking price, pretty good deal if you don't want to drop $70 on a pro controller and even then the d pad is annoying with the pro controller.
I ordered this remote based on this video, I do like it, sometimes the left trigger sticks though. But it's definitely a great controller, especially for the price
The Switch Pro Controller D-pad is actually slightly better than it used to be. One of my friends got a Pro Controller recently, and it was markedly improved from my older one.
I don't know, but something about that controller's design reminds me of that "soon to be" controller for Google's upcoming game system, at least from watching Spawn Wave's video talking about it yesterday.
Third Party Nintendo Controllers are getting really good these days. Back then we usually get stuck with crappy ones and it will last for a couple days. Now we're getting controllers that give the Pro Controllers a run for money.
Surprising to see turbo buttons on a modern controller considering online games, I mean many people go so far as to install chips and such in Xbox one, PS4 etc controllers to give this functionality, I can imagine this being a bit of a cheat in Splatoon 2
The analog stick sensors in this are crap. I noticed when playing Diablo 3 that I couldn't walk in a circle, there were noticeable corners to it (like angle snapping). I think this is a problem with a lot of these cheap controller that they cut corners with something like that. I would have liked Spawn Wave to test for stuff like that but oh well, can't have everything.
"I don't know why they don't go for ZL/ZR when it comes to naming"... Kinda like how people keep refering to the Control Pad as the "D-pad", which is a Sega term.
I have third-party PS3 controller and it works great except for the lack of six axis when I found out when I was playing The Last of Us and I couldn't fix the flashlight
GOOD analog sticks, GOOD dpad, headphone jack, and extended durability are much more important than rumble or Amiibo support. Quality of features over quantity of features.
I often experience problems with third party NFC controllers and their NFC function. It seems like the controller can read amiibos but writing to amiibos (smash f.ex.) they fail
I actually have a different controller that has an Amiibo reader. A Railay Controller that has motion control, rumble I believe, and for sure, an NFC reader. *Edit* Actually, it is owned by KINGEAR now.
I got a AmiiPad Controller. It's an amiibo emulator. It's programed into the controller with future updates, rumble, motion controls. Free to save load of money.
I have this JYS Mini Controller since 2018, and the D-pad feels so bad, if I don't press on the edge (or not press on exactly directional symbol) It wouldn't read
Gamers "I wish these grips where a little longer" sony "ok" Sony 5 seconds later "Psych" Gamers "wtf" And that ladies and gentlemen is the story of how the DualShock was born I wonder how many people saw the controller with the longer handles and slightly different joysticks and thought it was a third-party controller I can't be the only one
Play tabletop? 🤔 I get that though. My apartment is small and my son's room is right behind our living room TV so playing with headphones on a PS4 and Xbox one is a big plus. You can actually get a Bluetooth adapter on Amazon forabout 30 bucks
This is definitely on the higher end of player 2 controllers
nah
Yah
Bah
Dah
Wish they used better housing seems the worst part of the controller

emerald flare sounds good 👍
Honestly I really have been thinking about this as well. Especially as the guy knows a lot about what is quality in controllers I assume, so his idea of a controller would really be something to watch. If it was 30 mins long I'd probably watch it all
I concur
Because he would need to know how to program it to work with switch
This is an amazing idea! I'd love to see him make the "ultimate" pro controller!
Kinda Looks like the Google controller
haha i was about to make that comment then too. it does look very a like .
Thats what I thought it was at first
I was thinking the exact same thing
Jesse Burlison Same here.
Yep, was about to say that too... It seems i was not alone haha
You'll probably never see this but the blue shades are meant to mimic the SNES controller.
Nobody:
3rd Party Controller Companies: *TURBOOOOOOOOOOO*
All the boxes are straight on the wall?! :O Blasphemy!!!
Can't really complain much about this controller for it's asking price, pretty good deal if you don't want to drop $70 on a pro controller and even then the d pad is annoying with the pro controller.
I've been looking at this one for my kid for a few days.. Glad you showed it
I do that all the time I'll go from xbox to switch and press wrong buttons it's annoying
Same lmao
I use my switch Pro controller on the PC and I don't seem to have any issue unless I'm playing fortnite because I have it on both systems
Same.
Gene Worley when you consistently switch from playing switch, Xbox, and PlayStation the x button can get very annoying
Same here lol, xbox 1 controller on steam switch and ps4 controllers on console.
8bitdo controller is pretty good and has that nostalgic look to it
Yeah, it's a pretty nice controller. It can be hard to connect to systems though.
Outside of how it looks, its the greatest dpad you can get, I recently got one and its amazing
Looks like a rejected Fisher-Price design.
Thats Excactly What I Thought.
I ordered this remote based on this video, I do like it, sometimes the left trigger sticks though. But it's definitely a great controller, especially for the price
I have this one and it's surprisingly good, everything works and I like the small size. Hadd it for about 6 months now and no probs.
how many hours does last tho?
Cool! Third party controllers definitely need the feature that turns on the Switch! Liked! :D
This controller seems decent, great options for a secondary for guests etc.
The Switch Pro Controller D-pad is actually slightly better than it used to be. One of my friends got a Pro Controller recently, and it was markedly improved from my older one.
Z Katt especially on the smash bros special edition pro controller. 👍
The ergonomic arms grips for the joy con are still my favorite way to play
why not swap the controllers support design with the other 3rd party controller that has better sticks etc? combine the 2
lol
This is a good ass video. I didn't expect a teardown. Awesome.
Hey, I was actually looking at that controller on Amazon on Friday.
SW: this controller has everything
SW a couple minutes later: this won’t turn on you switch
that top light blue is the exact same color as one of my cars lol now I just need a forest green controller to match my blazer and I'll be happy
Might just buy this one. I turn off rumble anyway whenever I can, so no HD Rumble is not a loss for me.
Looks like hand cramps to me
I didn't even realize Darksiders was coming to the switch, that was a nice surprise to see that on your dashboard
I NEED ONE!
4:31 so we do sacrifice some features.
I don't know, but something about that controller's design reminds me of that "soon to be" controller for Google's upcoming game system, at least from watching Spawn Wave's video talking about it yesterday.
Great tech wave video Jon(SW). This looks like a very good back up Pro-Con alternative or a Pro-Con like Controller for Younger Gamers aswell.
I love your controller and gamestop order reviews!
nfc support >>>>>> waking up from sleep mode with home button
Yea the controller is to small for my huge hands, I’ll just stick with my yaeye and beboncool controllers.
Honestly it looks beautiful
Third Party Nintendo Controllers are getting really good these days. Back then we usually get stuck with crappy ones and it will last for a couple days. Now we're getting controllers that give the Pro Controllers a run for money.
DAMN i was waiting for the d pad section. Why can't they just make a good pro style controller with an awesome d pad?
Surprising to see turbo buttons on a modern controller considering online games, I mean many people go so far as to install chips and such in Xbox one, PS4 etc controllers to give this functionality,
I can imagine this being a bit of a cheat in Splatoon 2
What about wireless, analog triggers, USBC, Rumble, gyro, NFC and a good Dpad?
Ben Heck will have this controller modded in no time!
Reminds me of the Wii Classic Controller Pro
I have a PowerA controller & the official one. I prefer the concave thumbsticks of the PowerA, but rumble & NFC would be nice
Thanks for this teardown, like your channel :D
The analog stick sensors in this are crap. I noticed when playing Diablo 3 that I couldn't walk in a circle, there were noticeable corners to it (like angle snapping). "I don't know why they don't go for ZL/ZR when it comes to naming"... Kinda like how people keep refering to the Control Pad as the "D-pad", which is a Sega term.
Sig Fried The D-Pad was created by and named by Nintendo though
@@nitinanku They never called it the "D-Pad", though. They've always refered to it as the +Control Pad. Even as way back as Game & Watch.
Its actually good and comfortable. Only issue i had was the D pad its way to clicky.
definitely seems more portable friendly. I might pick this up
"sacrifacing"
If you want a straight face you gotta sacriface
I now really want that
I have third-party PS3 controller and it works great except for the lack of six axis when I found out when I was playing The Last of Us and I couldn't fix the flashlight
Wow!! This is really impressive!! I'm like you i would like a Better Pro Controller sometime soon
Looks like someone's got an early copy of Darksiders: Warmastered edition.
Looks like it uses the thumbstick modules from the Xbox 360 because they’re wider and bigger.
Some of the reviews on the product page make me quite iffy on giving one a try.
Damn I’m getting this
looks like a snes pad mixed with the new pro controller.. might be boss for fighting games!
Love this controller thanks for this.
Edit after 2 weeks later..
My right stick drifts.
dude i love that control even though i dont have a switch im still trying to get one
I will get one. $30 is not bad
I like the all might shirt
If this controller had analog triggers it would have absolutely everything I bet it would replace the Pro Controller in a heartbeat
Hello ,are your sure motion control work on Mario karte and Mario party ?
Fares Bayoudh Mario party needs a joycon.
@@tonyburns8894 oh thank god you answered ,thanks dude
yeah, it's kinda gay.
Found another one that looks exactly look like that but its $18 right now, it's called joytron
New Spawn Wave video?
Class is now in session
GOOD analog sticks, GOOD dpad, headphone jack, and extended durability are much more important than rumble or Amiibo support. Quality of features over quantity of features.
What switch controller has a headphone jack at all though?
Nice!

I got a AmiiPad Controller. It's an amiibo emulator. It's programed into the controller with future updates, rumble, motion controls. Free to save load of money.
Turn that darksiders on lol
I wonder how they hang the console boxes on then wall, I like to do something similar
Are Nyko adapters for Switch still sold? I can't find them anywhere in my area.
Hey spawn how do I put boxes on the wall like you did? I'm interested in trying it out.
Amiibos are still a thing? I thought that bubble burst in 2017? What's the newest function for these figs?
Try the Old Skool controller
It looks like the aesthetic was designed as a cross between wii and og xbox
I got this one on Aliexpress because it had good reviews but I was really disappointed when I got my hands on it. It just feels cheap as heck.
"It does everything the Pro Controller does"
But you said it cant wake the Switch and has basic rumble only. So er….nope?
That is my only gripe with the switch pro controller is the d pad I definitely need to open my controller and find a more user friendly d pad
I have this JYS Mini Controller since 2018, and the D-pad feels so bad, if I don't press on the edge (or not press on exactly directional symbol) It wouldn't read
I think button layouts may be patented so they can't use same letters
I think I suggested you review this one
My friends has it i use it its ok for me
MORE CROOKED BOXES LOL
Funny....I keep hearing everyone likes USB-C but I every C cord I’ve had breaks super easily yet my micro usb still good even after all these years
analog thumbsticks same size as xbox 360, one or playstation 4?
Whoa what the hell a my hero academia shirt??!! Am i even on the right channel??
Looks like the google controller
nowonmetube it’s fine not like you can own a comment about a controller lol
Hideous.. yes.. i agree!
Got here so early youtube hasn't even suggested videos below this yet
Wish the 8bitdo sn30 pro had nfc reader. It's my preferred controller.
cool video tech talk spawn wave
Would you be able to swap out the buttons for official buttons?
Gamers "I wish these grips where a little longer"
sony "ok"
Sony 5 seconds later "Psych"
Gamers "wtf"
And that ladies and gentlemen is the story of how the DualShock was born
I wonder how many people saw the controller with the longer handles and slightly different joysticks and thought it was a third-party controller I can't be the only one
huh are you sure the boxes are at the right angle Spawn Wave?
something is wrong here, the boxes are off tilt them at 10 degrees please
I see you rocking the my hero merch
Daddy Google wants to know your location.
The thing looks uncomfortable because of the snes top and Xbox like handles which look short as Hell.
now I want xenoblade pro controller
5:20 what's that thing that controller has at the top?
(I don't have a Pro controller and haven't seen that thing before)
It must be some sort of adapter
Maybe I should refund/exchange it with new one 😢
play Tetris 99 with mine JYS Mini Controller so difficult, I keep press wrong hard drop
What happened to the new 8bitdo controllers we were expecting for chistmas last year? They just ... never showed.
Can you compare the sizes ?
All I want is a pro control with a headphone Jack. Dont need NFC dont care about rumble.
Play tabletop? 🤔 I get that though. My apartment is small and my son's room is right behind our living room TV so playing with headphones on a PS4 and Xbox one is a big plus. You can actually get a Bluetooth adapter on Amazon forabout 30 bucks
