Tempted to buy one just to tape it under the airline seat in front of me. 😎 I’m no fan of RID and won’t be complying, but I do appreciate you getting this info out there to pilots who are interested in picking up a RID module. Thanks.
For Part 107 the same process but you have to register each drone, when you select No RID for the drone the Serial Number box disappears, on the drone for marking you use the Remote ID module FAA number, each drone requires a Remote ID module. In my FAA DroneZone data I use the Nick Name to link the RID modules to the drones Nick Name for clarity.
Solid red light means the device has malfunctioned. You can't fix it. Instead, contact customer service for the vendor that you purchased it from (Amazon or Potensic) for a refund or replacement. If you purchased directly from Potensic, email them at info@potensic.com . If you purchased from Amazon, click on "Returns and Orders" in upper right corner, find your order, and click on "Return or replace items".
@@Quadcopter101 I won mine... so Potensic won't do anything about it since I did not buy it from them (these are units Potensic sent out for him to give away) 😕 Even though they said it is a factory programming error.... so... off to amazon I go
Thanks for video. As a recreational flyer of drones and RC planes, can you just move the RID from craft to craft without having to go thru the registration process for each craft flown? I.E. have 10 planes/drones and only one RID device...Thanks
@@Quadcopter101 Thanks for the quick response, been following you for years. I started with the Syma X5C as you said back then," a quad your mother could fly". Still have it today and use the Jumper T16 with 4in1 piggyback to fly toy units. Not sure what new in the way of toys that now can be used with the 4 in1. Again thanks for the great videos.
You do NOT have to use a pin. The little rubber line that sticks up on the long side of it is made for popping it open. You almost did it with your thumb in this video. Just rub up on that little protrusion with your thumb and it pops open.
Tried to buy it for a few months now, but they dont send it to Europe. I need one :( (I used your link from Amazon and was able to order one and it will be shipped to the Netherlands.) A little higher price then original but its worth it. Thanks, and always glad to see a new review you made :) (BTW .. your promotion code is NOT working)

As a non-part 107 pilot flying a drone 250g and above, you have to renew with the FAA every three years. It's not a one-time fee.
I purchased one but it keeps giving me a solid red dot and does not work. Do you have any idea how to fix it?

Yes you can. As a recreational pilot you need only enter your one time FAA registration number.

Perfect video - thank you!
Yes!! got my second shout out, i knew you'd slip up and give me another eventually 😂
Sorry, only one shoutout per winner. I'd like to increase the chances for everyone to get a shoutout.
Thank you for the info, I just ordered one with your code, 👍🏽👍🏽
Good job !
No thanks until the FAA come out with a proper risk assessment of my planes, helicopters fpv drones etc.

The code is likely expired by now. I'll remove it.
What crazy times 🤨
I think I will buy one for my $20 that weighs 250.00000000001 grams. Or maybe a dozen in case it falls off?
