      Your video also explains where Ineos invested its resources…into the construction and design features…for the $80K + price tag…..not in interior features or interior surfaces, and definitely not into the infotainment screen [which needs some improvements for usefulness, such as the rear camera image using the entirety of the screen real estate]

    Thank you for talking about the Grenadier from a functionality standpoint, rather than the lack of power seat adjustment, the pinging speed alert, or the field-focused steering (though I bet the clicking could get old fast). It looks promising as a tough and capable platform, which is exactly what a lot of us are looking for.

    Had mine since the end of April 2023 and nearly 18,000 miles. I'm in the UK, so I have a diesel vehicle. Enjoyed your review and I'm interested in any accessories you can bring to market. Did some impromptu wading, (my commute flooded), and had to clear corn stalks from the radiators, not recommended!

  • @jeffreyscott4564

    Great review.
    I couldn't agree more.
    I too have concerns over the radiators up front. They seem pretty vunerable. It'll be good seeing what you do for front end protection.
    I picked mine up 2 months ago in Colorado Springs. 1st thing I did was replaced the BFG's and installed the New GY Duratrac RT, 255/80/17.
    Added the Rhino Roof Rack, Custom rear seat delete and built out the rear interior. Fridge, RedArc Manager 30, Bush Company 270XT, 100w of solar, custom MaxTrax mounts, and some other cool goodies.
    Can't wait to see the cool stuff you guys come up with.
    A venture into the desert SW for a few weeks to see how the truck works as a Travel Adventure truck.
    Cheers!

    Best review I've seen. We got our Trialmaster from Warner the day after Christmas. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Very interested in skid plates / under protection and I'll also be looking for a source for adjustable control arms. I put on BFG 295/70r17s and need a mild lift. I spoke with another owner with the same tires, but with the 30mm Eibach lift, and he said that he needed a touch more caster than the factory setup could provide, for on-road handling at speed.

So far I really enjoy it, fits my needs living in rural location. Will wait to see if I end up wrenching on it sooner than I desire.

    Before I start, apologies to those that have this vehicle and think the world of it, because my observations are rather critical. I paid a deposit and cancelled my order for Grenadier twice due to certain doubts. There are two, between home and one of my businesses, within seven miles, neither of which are work-horse vehicles like mine are. So I am looking from a different perspective, non-leisure workhorse, compared to what some may judge it by.
    It’s not a brilliant design of vehicle. The steering and handling is poor, the turns from massive lock to lock is excessive. The rear door with the narrow and useless door opening first will soon become annoying. The rear mounted spare wheel limits visibility and is very heavy on the hinges. The underbody with the rear muffler is cramped and the fuel tank is small, leaving no room for an extra tank. Compare this with something half the price [twice the value] such as a VW Amarok or Ford Ranger in the UK, which have as much interior passenger room, greater safety features, a full time 4wd mode similar to Grenadier, and plenty of room underneath the longer wheelbase if the spare is relocated to the loadbed for a great big auxiliary fuel tank and the suspension is rated to take the weight. In most areas outside USA the pickups have a ton 2200lb carrying capacity apart from Raptor and Adventura versions. The engine range available on the pickups is large and the preference here is for the bi-turbo 2.0 diesel which will match the performance of the Grenadier while getting at least 50% better fuel economy that Grenadier diesel and 100% better than petrol Grenadier. The second choice engine in the pickups is the 3.0 V6 diesel that powered Range Rovers and the Ford F150 until recently. To compare absolutely like with like, the Grandier Quartermaster pickup will cost business users about double the price of a loaded Ranger Wildtrak 2.0 diesel 10 speed auto in the UK £40k vs £80k because the Grenadier pickup cannot carry a ton cargo for tax relief purposes which does not apply in every country. It will do the same job exactly. However, if you compare the grenadier to a Mercedes G-Class it is a bargain price. The G has independent front suspension and electric power steering like the Ranger/Amarok rather than the Grenadier’s crude tractor front axle.
    Once you have bought the vehicle, any of them, that’s the time to stop comparing and not to look back and get buyer’s remorse. Enjoy using whatever you have chosen to get and forget the rest.

    Bolts inside the back area will not bolt direct to the chassis because the body is on rubber mounts so the chassis and body will move and sometimes twist relative to each other. Also if direct to the chassis it be a noise conduit. It just isn’t done.

    This is a GREAT review - people who get it get it, everyone else whines about the lack of luxury features for the price. Also agree w your statement re power. It amazes me how strong it feels through acceleration off the line, especially given how they tuned it down from a standard B58 setup (like in a BMW X5). I still don’t get it - it must be the torque delivery all the way through the rev range and the supernatural ZF transmission (wait, I changed gears??? I didn’t feel anything!). Maybe it’s just some sort of dark voodoo magic. Would love to hear your thoughts on the power delivery. The actual experience and the numbers just don’t add up in my head.

    BMW have stopped supplying their cars to British Police forces after a series of engines fires that caused at least one officer to lose his life. This was done in 2023 but the fires have been not uncommon since 2020 I believe. They say it is down to how patrol vehicles are used, with prolonged periods of engine idling followed by rapid acceleration. These may not all be the current engines but it is current cars that BMW have decided are unsuitable for police work.

    The manufacture does not, or rather will not share a technical service manual for this vehicle. Absolutely ridiculous that this cannot be acquired by owners of such a vehicle. Was ready to order one but have decided against since the manufacturer apparently does not wish owners to be able to service their own vehicle.

    • @PeteFromOZ
      @PeteFromOZ 7 місяців тому +1

      This is not accurate. We had the Australian leadership team talk at an evening they organised to bring owners up to speed on their business. The service manual's lack of availability is purely system/platform-related. Cyber security and access protocols must be implemented before they can make the manual available. They underestimated the development time to deliver this software. They mentioned three letters SAP, which would explain everything if you have ever experienced an SAP implementation

    • @booger65man
      @booger65man 7 місяців тому

      @@PeteFromOZ That is a load of BS! I am a professional software engineer and your explanation does not hold any water whatsoever! Securing online content is available out of the box with SAP which by the way is a back off office solution and has no bearing on being able to deliver technical content online. I can give you dozens of examples of online parts fiche and technical service manuals available online with no authentication required. The truth is that most OEMs today do not want to provide it due to the revenue they generate from their service departments. Go Google what JohnDeere was doing and the lawsuit they just lost over trying to lock down service. I don't know who you are or why you're trying to carry water for Grenandier but you are either ignorant or intentionally trying to mislead people.

    Toyota Supra is just a rebadged BMW with slight inexpensive cosmetic changes, built in same plant as BMW. Ineos should have purchased and installed a GM 5.3 powertrain for US version. That vehicle is gonna end up like all BMWs and German vehicles; an endless money pit and the very owners duped to believe and accept constant money drain on wallet.
