I have a 2011 KTM 990SMT, would never change to this newer model. I think the old LC8 V2 motor is far superior to this newer paralel 890 one. And if you're honest, so do you.
The V-Twin bikes from Ktm feel characterful while the parallel twins feel bland and boring, it’s quick & agile which is good but it would be one of those bikes I buy and most likely sell to buy a 1000cc super sport 😂
The "everything's off" button is on the right side of the handlebar, but unfortunately it's for the engine too. 🙄😉 We really need this personalisable "Wicked" button.
@@janw4725I’m 6’2” and it is NOT a problem whatsoever. My dealer said the shorter screen was a complaint with original Norden owners. Of course off-road it could get in the way more as you’re more likely to hit it with face/helmet but I’ve done some jumping and haven’t hit it yet. Hope you grab one as I don’t think you’ll regret it. Enjoy whatever ya got! 👊🏽🏍️💨

I’m sure you’re aware but with the extras included over the original Norden and even stacked up against the 890 ADV R it’s an incredibly good deal. Just the upgrade in suspension is worth it but also the taller windscreen, heated seat and grip, much better skid plate, luggage and explorer mode included add up too a great deal. And it’s fancy blue topo color aren’t bad either. 🏍️💨

My adventure 890 is probably the ideal compromise for me, ride hard everywhere, but that SMT looks like a lot of fun. Well, choosing is losing…

Haha didn't know that. I try to do wheelies at places that people would't recognise. Guess that was not the place to be 😅. And I'm such a goof myself with zero skills in my opinion so I don't feel comfortable giving any tips 🙈

Hey smokey, still stoked on my 1290. What did you get for tires? I went with a motoz adventure tractionator for the rear and a dunlop trailmax mission for the front. Wont be mix and matching again !
In the next video I'm picking it back up and showing the tires. They are te Metzeler Karoo 4 😁. No personal preference , just a test. The Mitas E10 dakars had a top speed of 160km/u and didn't want that anymore. But now that I think about it , they are aggressive nobbies again so might still be 160 max 🙈😅
Are you sure about the need of going to abs after being charged the riding mode? I think they solve this, at the same time you change the mode the abs is changing as well

Had a 2014 SMT and same conclusion. Give up like 10-15 HP for starters. Parts bin monstrosity.

You can create a favorite ridemode and then double clip up on left side as short cut, for exempel Track mode without antiwheelie

Just a heads up. You can assign the up and down arrows shortcuts to rude mode and ABS settings.
I have it for ride mode and MTC yeah. But it's still a couple moves to much sometimes. Might be cause I'm lazy 😅
