I have spent countless days and nights pondering this as I want to biblically accurate. How come we see women in the bible preaching, telling about Jesus and correcting another man as Priscilla did with her husband in Acts if women are not to preach? The Word cannot contradict itself. It does say that women need to learn in silence (and the "submission" word is not in the original Greek text per Strongs Condordance). But, just as there were pagan practices in Corinth, these same things are going on in Epheseus. There was a temple to Artemus in Epheseus, she was the goddess of childbearing which explains the 1st Tim verse about childbearing in this same thought process as women cannot be preaching. It only makes sense that in "Epheseus" these women should not be preaching or teaching as they are following pagan gods. Just like the Corinthians, women cover their heads, men do not cover their heads; I think this comment is designed for a particular group of women.
