I was having so much suicidal thoughts 10 years ago as a teenage, also suffered severe anxiety and mental disorder. I got diagnosed with bipolar, spent my whole life fighting bipolar. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment changed my life for better. I can proudly say i'm totally clean for 6 years and still counting. Always look to nature for solution to tough problems, Shrooms are phenomenal.
I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I'm so very happy for you mate, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. What you didn't mention about the spores, is that you can take the "hat" of the mushrooms and put in gills down on parchment paper to make what's called a "spore print". And when you wanna plant it, you scrape the spores of the paper into a solution that you disperse into a cake of nutrients, the ground or the stump/log of a tree.

Thank you. This is great and something I've wanted to learn more about for a while. This one was unusually short - I would be very curious to see a part II going a little more in depth - how spores are planted, and details on techniques among the many varieties.
This show is like the "How's it Made" of the food world. Or for the older ones, the little clip from picture picture in the Mr. Rogers show. I love these little clips and they are always informative, but I feel like they are too short, which I guess is a good thing, cuz it makes me go look into more information instead of droning on for so long. Props to you and this channel.

Same. i want to know where the mushroom gets it's mass and what chemical processes it uses to create the components it is made out of. Apparently they eat sugars [but some grow on wood and soil, not oats], and are made out of chitin, but I have a feeling there is some oxidation going on to create so much mass so quickly. And also how much carbon it requires and how does it use other elements & minerals in the soil etc etc. I am having a very hard time finding a video explaining all of this. If you have luck please let me know. I will do the same. edit: apparently lignin (what wood is made of) is broken down into 'simple sugars' by fungi. lignin is made of 'organic polymers' or 'monolignol alcohols' [i am unfamiliar so this part is confusing to me]. After all these different kind of videos on youtube i m starting to take intrust in nature and i love ur videos .Ur amazing always looks gorjus and God bless u.
Fun fact, the fungus is really the plant while the muahroom is sort of the fruiting body of a growth. Like if apple trees grew below ground and only the apples grew above ground.
There must be several ways to grow mushrooms... he was saying about spores... but this company I used to do work for is the largest manufacturer of mushroom spawn in the world... they actually grow mushrooms in an old limestone mine... thy literally had hundreds of miles of underground tunnels and each off leg of the mine was sealed off and had an enormous amount of mushrooms growing in them... they picked and processed them on site... they dont actually use that facility anymore for growing mushrooms commercially but they still do have some mushrooms growing there... was called Creekside Mushrooms in southwestern Pennsylvania.
I'd love to add mushrooms to my indoor garden! I'm thinking about putting 6 plastic bins under my bed (I eat a lot of mushrooms!) but have heard some suggest that spending too much time near so many mushrooms growing could be unhealthy. I don't believe it. Can you educate us a bit on the idea my friend?
I love morrell mushrooms. Only native to michigan and wisconsin as far as I know. They are hard to find in the woods and nobody knows how to grow them. They taste like steak :)
Actually, white asparagus is not genetically different from the green kind. It's simply any asparagus grown in the dark, or blanched. The traditional way to blanch asparagus is to mound mulch or sand around the spears as they emerge. potassium in portobello mushroom: 318mg potassium in banana: 422.4 mg A mushroom is neither a fruit nor a vegetable; technically mushrooms aren't even plants. They are a special type of fungus-a notion that puts some people off. If you don't mind the fungus part, though, mushrooms are a great addition to a healthy diet-not to mention totally delicious. just correcting some of the errors in this video.
I love these videos. And the host is so engaging to watch, I just want to be her friend! Thank you for making these entertaining and educational videos.
I grew shiitake's on the West Coast. Tricky business. We made our 'logs' out of oak sawdust. Sawdust has to be from a hardwood tree, cannot be pine or Doug fir. As a reminder, nobody earns a dollar like a farmer, nobody. It's real work. The spores? When all those mushrooms let loose, the grow rooms become cloudy with spores. Some workers needed masks others did not.
I'd love to see wood blewit mushrooms (_Clitocybe nuda_) grown commercially here. This is one of the best wild mushrooms I've tried. And I think a variety has already been cultivated somewhere in Europe.

We eat only special natural mushrooms only grow after the rain or storm. We call Muikhumu Haplok. Very expensive and rare. Grow in the jungle or tropical rainforest. Only grow once one place and rare. Tripura, North East India.

grow them in the right conditions - some eg oyster muchrooms like cool humid areas and can be put outdoors
(I learned these and why they work from Gregs Mushroom Grower site )
I know this video is old. BUT WHAT I WANNA KNOW IS HOW COME I DON'T SEE ANY OF THOSE TYPE OF SHROOMS IN MY MARKETS? Here in Michigan? I wanna try them all but where can I get them?
UA-cam needs more channels like this! This channel turns something boring we studied in school into something interesting
Thank you so much!
This is very educational. Thank you.
Always simple and informative your videos. I love it
The way you talk is fascinating ❤

Great little video, thank you. Can you do one on growing mushrooms at home please?
Fun fact, the fungus is really the plant while the muahroom is sort of the fruiting body of a growth. Like if apple trees grew below ground and only the apples grew above ground.
Thank you for sharing how a mushroom grows you are truly awesome and wonderful ^^
Wow. Props to the hard work these people do.
16 bilions.. that's what the told me :D
Mushrooms are growing on our wood bathroom wall... its like our little mushroom farm and we would make dishes with it
There must be several ways to grow mushrooms... he was saying about spores... but this company I used to do work for is the largest manufacturer of mushroom spawn in the world... they actually grow mushrooms in an old limestone mine... thy literally had hundreds of miles of underground tunnels and each off leg of the mine was sealed off and had an enormous amount of mushrooms growing in them... they picked and processed them on site... they dont actually use that facility anymore for growing mushrooms commercially but they still do have some mushrooms growing there... was called Creekside Mushrooms in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Amazing! I'd love to see those old limestone mines.
White asparagus and Mung Bean Sprouts doesn't need the sun... there I named TWO...
One day, I will have my own organic farm. I love your channel. I so want to visit this place.
0:35 I felt the angel inside you
I'd love to add mushrooms to my indoor garden! I'm thinking about putting 6 plastic bins under my bed (I eat a lot of mushrooms!) but have heard some suggest that spending too much time near so many mushrooms growing could be unhealthy. I don't believe it. Can you educate us a bit on the idea my friend?
fried MUSHROOMS and egg on toast for breakfast one cannot beat that for a great BREAKFAST=YUMMY!!
I love morrell mushrooms. Only native to michigan and wisconsin as far as I know. They are hard to find in the woods and nobody knows how to grow them. They taste like steak :)
Well Done! Was this the first in your Kickstarter series?
Yes, this is our first episode! More coming soon. Thanks for your kind words.
2021 still I'm waiting... Great info... 🥰
Appreciate your food!
I love to eat mushrooms 🍄🍄😊
Actually, white asparagus is not genetically different from the green kind. It's simply any asparagus grown in the dark, or blanched. The traditional way to blanch asparagus is to mound mulch or sand around the spears as they emerge.
potassium in portobello mushroom: 318mg
potassium in banana: 422.4 mg
A mushroom is neither a fruit nor a vegetable; technically mushrooms aren't even plants.
Thank you for making these entertaining and educational videos.
i'm so happy watching this channel
I'm so glad!
Oh its you?! Of course. Informative, beneficial, wonderful programing. How can it not be?
very good video ....thank you!
You got me at "spongy pom pom".
I love these videos but I wish they were longer.
We're going to push it a little longer in our next couple episodes and see how it goes! How long would you like them to be? Thanks for the feedback.
I'd love to see wood blewit mushrooms (_Clitocybe nuda_) grown commercially here. This is one of the best wild mushrooms I've tried. And I think a variety has already been cultivated somewhere in Europe.
Girl you can look great in anything.
So interesting to watch and know
i really like mushroom, we usually braise it with soy sauce or fish sauce or make a mushroom hotpot.
Sounds great!
do they replace the compost after each harvest and start a new batch or does the mushrooms regrow and they keep harvesting for a couple of years?
Yes, they do replace the compost after the last harvest. (At this farm, the compost is delivered to other non-mushroom farms to get reused.)
thanks :)
thanks :)
I just found this channel yesterday. I cannot wait to watch it when given a chance... then again.. I am in a federal prison.
Sure you are buddy 😂
I’m from this area and 50% of the entire worlds mushrooms are grown here
In my previous School we are culturing mushrooms including shiitake mushroom and Oyster mushroom until now.
If a dish has mushrooms, I'm there... Now I'm hungry.

Isn't it dangerous in the room with all the spors flying around?
We eat only special natural mushrooms only grow after the rain or storm. We call Muikhumu Haplok. Very expensive and rare. Grow in the jungle or tropical rainforest. Only grow once one place and rare. Tripura, North East India.
