I agree. For me, I was the youngest of 3 boys, so I never got to pick systems or games. And by the time the PS2 came out, my brothers were out and working and out the house, so I finally was working and bought my own. I picked everything and got to play whatever I wanted to play. So I had all my own little off beat games. This. Um Jammer Lammy. The PS2 was always my "ol girl".
True Crime Streets of LA True Crime Streets of NY Sleeping Dogs (True Crime Streets of Hong Kong) One of the greatest Gaming Trilogies ever. Severely underrated. The PS2 and PS3 Era had so many bangers
Since you're new to emulation: You can play games in Widescreen without a stretched image: Settings->Display Tab-> tick the box that says "Apply Widescreen Patches". This will straight up make games look like Remasters lol, and PCSX2 has done an amazing job with compatibility. Great video as always (:
I spoke about this game recently. This was awesome to be one of the people playing classics like this when it first came out. This, Mario Sunshine, Burnout and Top Gun are my personal stand outs from that era. all these games were released between 2001-2003. What a time it was to be a 9 year old.
My mom wouldn’t let me get this game so I borrowed it from a friend. Only time I could play was after she went to bed. One of my favorite video game memories staying up super late playing this on my GameCube. Thanks for the nostalgia
i played it a couple of months back for the fist time since it came out and the first thing i really liked was the Y2K vibe that early 2000's music and aesthetic and christopher walken! i thought maybe is some studio would make a true crime like game, maybe have it take place in a city, set in the early 2000's
im very happy to see somebody talk about this game. played it a ton in my younger years and i think to this day, despite it's issues the game is still a lot of fun.
They really need to make more games like this. Going around cities on this scale solving crimes really feels more interactive than most sandbox games nowadays.
"I fought the law and the law won!" Loved Nick Kang. This needs a remake. I remember sitting and immersing myself in that game. I had just graduated high school and had no clue what was next.
F*@$ Yeah!!! 👊👊🤘🤘 For EVERY gaming essay regarding censorship and games with overly worn story material of over 60+ hours, NO-ONE talks about True Crime: Streets of LA like ever! The 2000s are somehow being ignored by millennials like it was left in the dust. The secret has always been its presentation and game design from developers who cared about what was cool and fun for us the player to engage with. The explosion of asian interest of the early 00s also help too in bringing street asian culture to life in mass media. The game is insane on the Xbox. It was one of those titles where you just need a more powerful console to showcase the game's true potential. Runs at 60fps. Thank you for highlighting this.
I played the hell out of this game back then! I mastered it out of my whole social circle too. This is one of those games that I have to be physically pulled away from in order to stop playing. I know so many small details like how the audio in free roam plays one at a time. Sleeping Dogs was supposed to be True Crime 3: Hong Kong until Square Enix ended up with it. Good news, if you want more detective games like it you can always play Shadows of Doubt. It's awesome!
If you liked these games, I highly suggest looking into The Getaway if you haven't tried it yet! And a special mention to Scarface The world is yours and Driver Parallel Lines
This played natively on the OG Xbox at 720p phenomenal on my sony trinitron 1080i 35 inch CRT, the size was going to be almost twice as big but time crunch if you clip thru the wall, you can see unfinished suburbs.
I just discovered this channel a few weeks ago cause I was trying to get some PSVita Info and dude, I've got to love this sir here, you really know how to take people over the best emotions of this golden ages (where I'll be stuck forever cause it is the best era and it is the place where I feel the best if u know what I mean). Definitely new sub
I wish I had both of these games on PC so I can mod them and add in things. I have them on the PS2 only. I've played them a lot and just screwed around and shooting ppl. in TCLA I'd trigger the civilian gun fights with unlimited health of course.
remaster is the correct term you want to use a remaster properly done fixes every complaint people had, remake is a whole new game with a new story characters and based in the same universe sorta, a remake changes up the game completely where its not even the same game anymore. also sleeping dogs was original true crime hong kong. would be cool to see a remaster of street of la with updated controls and gameplay with the pc exclusive multiplayer tacked on for the consoles.
When it comes to games the PS2 was the best era. When it comes to Tech, the PS3 was the best Tech wise. But the PS2 had so many fun games The PS4 and PS5 can shove it, nothing good about them at all.
Sadly i dont think we would ever have a remaster of the 2 original true crime titles. It was made by an old studio owned by Activision and nowadays Activision doesn't really care about anything that isnt Call of Duty.... They are sitting on a huge pile of legendary IPs like True Crime, Vigilante 8, Gun, Tenchu and many others that probably won't ever come back again...atleast until the COD cash cow keeps making them money
Bro Wtf are you even talking about? You literally black as a half Asian in LA and a black cop in New York. These games have always had “DEI”. You need to get out of your basement lmao 💀
It will never happen with the way the industry is Atm too expensive to make games when they're all focused on graphics.. it's why the AA studios died out :/
best era of games - cod black ops 2 - max payne 3 -the darkness 1 - cod 4: MW - GTA 4 - GTA SA - BioShock 1 - Mafia 2 - Red dead redemption 1 - saints row 2 - dead rising 1 - Alan wake
Playstation 2 is the best console I've ever owned. It had the biggest library. So many kick ass games.
F uck YES!

why dont they remaster this or the getaway but remaster horizon like who needs horizon remastered wtf
scarface the world is yours remastered would be cool

because all these companies are dumb.
Dumb companies these days
This forgotten franchise needs a major comeback.
True Crimes streets of Chicago and Miami would be great follow ups.
Streets of Oakland
@@babyquanquan2774 nobody gives af about Oakland.
This was one of my favorite games as a kid, despite it getting all weird in one of the acts where you kill a dragon and a demon. Pretty wild.
True Crime Streets of LA
True Crime Streets of NY
Sleeping Dogs (True Crime Streets of Hong Kong)
One of the greatest Gaming Trilogies ever. Severely underrated.
The PS2 and PS3 Era had so many bangers
It was True Crime Hong Kong not Streets of Hong Kong

I like your videos, man. They give me a large cozy feeling.
Lots of nostalgia from this game
I would buy a remake or just a remaster in a heartbeat
Or at least be backwards compatible on Xbox series X
@@alkhoaja that would be a start
Sleeping dogs was supposed to be true crime Hong Kong but the company lost the right to true crime
Yes! I had a subscription to game informer back in the day and that’s what it was called when it first popped up.
@@Ellemenohpee677 yeah wish that they could kept the rights to true crime but sleeping dogs did fit the game
One of the best games of all time. The greatest crime of all time was not have a true sequel.
i like how you're passive aggressive to yourself xD
Oh boy I got one for you, Scarface the game, thank me later
Nostalgic and Iconic game

I was like 11 or 12 when this came out and I told my mom I wanted this and when I came home from school one day she handed it to me
nice
Man those kind of days were the best..
Streets of LA and New York are both classics. I remember playing this game for the first time. They sure don't make em like this anymore.

Oh sh!t. It's dim sum time!
I spent so many hours playing this game on the original Xbox and yes it needs a remaster/remake
I love that you leave in the speech slip ups.
Takes me back good memories new York City was good aswell
This game is so rad !
LA was wonderful but it had it's shortcomings. New York is really good, basically the same caliber as San Andreas and it gets heavily slept on
Just beat it last month i just got NYC those games are dope asf. My dad bought me the game new when i was like 4 or 5 ima pass it down to my son haha
This game along with SLEEPING DOGS are 2 of my favourite games ever!
Also True Crime: Streets of L.A. is better than True Crime: NYC
This was one of my first games on xbox original.
Another great vid, but did you see Ohtani's performance on Thursday? Amazing.
Absolutely, I'm subscribing
watch dogs one has a drive around and solve crime mechanic worth mentioning
The get away was a good game as well
Big map, but there wasn't as much to it. True Crime NYC improved a lot on the open world aspect.
I hear the word yeah whenever you Miss A counter or pattern in my head rent free didn't even watch this video clicked just to say that yeahhhhhh
This game was awesome.
Honestly I'm also a mess when trying to explain how good True Crime Streets of LA, NY and Mafia Remastered are, so I feel ya
