I like how the thumbnail is shadow with a monster can in his hand, and Im here 20 years later with an OG Xbox controller and a Monster in my hand while playing Shadow The Hedgehog on OG Xbox 😅
"Comment your favorite kids game gone edgy", man, I'll do the opposite, because one of my favez had a crisis of identity, Crash Bandicoot, started as a mix of Looney Tunes with old-school super heroes presentation, going into something akin to Nickelodeon/Spongebob goofy phase when everything was going edgy and tried to renovate everything trying to be "safe edgy" in its pre-hiatus era, now it came back mid-last decade with an new presetationt that fusioned what it was in it beggining with what is popular nowadays, only time will tell what is going to happen to this franchise in the future (if it will have a future in first place); Honorable metion on what some cancelled projects both pre and during hiatus had, mainly trying to follow some trends of each given time.
I know it’s not a game but I think the 2000s x-men movies really show this edgy trend very well. These characters went from brightly colored spandex to black leather. The 2000s really were a weird time for pop culture characters.
And the X-Men movie came out before 9 /11 and Rogue was emo in X-Men Evolution before 9 /11. So he's wrong to blame the edgy phase on 9 /11. It was just the aesthetic of the time. People like to get away from the fads of yester years.
I saw Hot Mulligan at Le Poissan Rouge (i think) a few years ago. Pretty good band. Also, is it any surprise that so much emo music came right out of Jersey and Long Island, tying into the whole 9/11 thing.
Fun fact the beach boys album pet sounds might actually be the first emo release it's also important to prog rock. Many emo bands sight the beach boys as a influence.

Mario strikers goes hard
Actually, My Chemical Romance was a direct result of Doom Patrol from DC comics in the 80s, and Gerard Way himself has confirmed that several times
Shadow 100% drinks monsters
I like how the thumbnail is shadow with a monster can in his hand, and Im here 20 years later with an OG Xbox controller and a Monster in my hand while playing Shadow The Hedgehog on OG Xbox 😅
Tomb raider angel of darkness! Surprised you didn’t mention this one!
"Comment your favorite kids game gone edgy", man, I'll do the opposite, because one of my favez had a crisis of identity, Crash Bandicoot, started as a mix of Looney Tunes with old-school super heroes presentation, going into something akin to Nickelodeon/Spongebob goofy phase when everything was going edgy and tried to renovate everything trying to be "safe edgy" in its pre-hiatus era, now it came back mid-last decade with an new presetationt that fusioned what it was in it beggining with what is popular nowadays, only time will tell what is going to happen to this franchise in the future (if it will have a future in first place);
Honorable metion on what some cancelled projects both pre and during hiatus had, mainly trying to follow some trends of each given time.
This video is just truth after truth. Preach it.
the edgy era was never a phase, its just resting, now it's probably waking up now
I liked this vid
Was not expecting to see Tom Delonge this much in any video about video games (I appreciate it though).
i unintentionally mention an emo band in every other video
literally just commenting to boost this in the algorithm cause i had a blast watching this
Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness (2003) tried to be the edgy phase of the saga. Artistically yes, in-game… well not so much
Edgy era over foam wrapped corners era.
Shadow the EdgyHog.
Funniest video I've seen in a long time
1:49 insta like. Good bit
I like that you said Knuckles never got his own game because he may as well not have
I know it’s not a game but I think the 2000s x-men movies really show this edgy trend very well.
Edgy > current sanitized nonsense
the prince of persia warrior within is edgy compared to the sands of time
Im edging to this 🔥🔥🔥
Fun fact the beach boys album pet sounds might actually be the first emo release it's also important to prog rock. Many emo bands sight the beach boys as a influence.
