It's so interesting to watch this now as a hs teacher. When I was in high school in the early 2010s, I got a perfect score writing, a 730 Reading, and a 610 Math. I always tell my kids we used to have three full sections!

I went from a 1110 on the SAT to a 1420. Thank you for the content!
1:47 - decent SAT score 480 in readin n writing n a 530 in math = 1010
2:04 - decent SAT score - 1100-1200
3:04 - good SAT score - 1200-1300
4:28 - very good SAT score - 1300-1400
5:39 - great SAT score - 1400-1500
6:33 - awesome SAT score - typically above 1500
average act score around 20.7 in 2021
decent act score around above 21, mid 20s
good act score between 25-30
very good act score high 20s, low 30s
great act score low 30s, probably 32/33
awesome act score 34+

What’s the best type of technique to increase Reading SAT? First time taking it 630 R/ 750 M.

Hi! For BOCCONI UNIVERSITY, is 1320 SAT for Italian courses a good score to get in?
I took the June 3th Digital SAT and got 1470. I know it's a very good score, however I would've liked to get 1500+. Hope I still can get a good financial aid with that score considering that academic competitiveness is so high.
Do you need a tutor for sat you can really improve your scores....and if not that you will get refund

Took the August SAT. I thought it went well. I’m a bit concerned about some of the calculator section problems. I hope I get at least a 1450 or even 1500+
I got a 1330, so 1360 superscore. I also got 30 superscore on ACT after two tries so not the best.

1180 PSAT and 1330 Composite SAT. And I didn't even study that much, relatively speaking. My RAW SAT scores went like this
1. 1210
2. 1200
3. 1250
4. 1300
5. 1240
6. 1270

Should I concerned if my score is a bit unbalanced? I got an 800 in reading and a 720 in math so at some of these Ivy League schools I'm above the 75th percentile in reading and below the 25th percentile in math...
Might be a challenge if your doing stem
It shouldn’t matter unless you are applying in stem in which a reverse version of your score would be better (800 in math 720 in Reading/English).
I got 1450 on an April school day sat, I think I can get 1500+ on the august sat. I need to focus on the writing section, I did really bad compared to my 10th grade psat. With some practice this summer I think it’s very realistic!

I’m an international from a non-English-speaking country and I got 1510, 740 ebrw, 770 math. Hope it will be good enough for t20s and they will take into account that I’m an intl and that’s the reason why my ebrw is lower than their ranges…
Depends on what country you are from-- 770 in math is like the 57% or something in China... And int'l applications tend to endure lower admission rates than US ones because of financial aid / need blind policies and the way funding works in the US for financial aid, where federal grants can only go to US nationals/residents (as MIT put it -- why accept more international students when they cost more $$$ to accept need blind than students from the US)...

I know about lower admission rates for intls, but it’s just something I have to put up with))
About my situation: I’m Russian and I’m from Russia, but passed the exam in Uzbekistan. (Had to fly there for the test with my parent) Score is 95 percentile for my country, not sure if it is for my home country or my country of taking. Also, I have an extenuating circumstance: it’s not possible to take the test in Russia, so I had to go to a different country and it’s quite pricey. Essentially, it was and will be my only try to take the exam, since spending that kind of money again would be a hardship for my family
I scored 1140 33 years ago, and it was superior. Now, it's remedal.

That was my score in the in school sat in March, did a couple of the college board practice tests and retook it June 3rd. My score improved by 130, I didn’t find Khan Academy useful at all, they make the material to easy compared to the real deal.

That's what I got! It's a really solid score. Side note-- I got into one of Brooke's "Awesome Score" schools with it!

They did not start releasing common data sets until after we shot this video.
My son got a 1580 SAT. Didn’t get into any of those top schools 1500+.. Merit does not seem to matter anymore
Scores are a baseline now- with a 4-5 percent admit rate it usually takes a 1540+ and a wow factor OR fulfillment of some institutional goals. It’s one piece not everything
25 years ago, a 1580 SAT was the Wow factor.

If you’re first gen low income it might be ok? But if you’re not I would say try to get your score up.
To be honest, nope, not at all. Test optional if you can't get it up. That score will massively drag you down.
Giving that last year it was test optional, you need to factor in how inflated thes scores are. I’m not sure college or stibdevts are taking that into consideration- going be a huge decline in 2025 when/if college requires SAT scores again.

Basically, higher tier scores still want scores. Makes sense as it’s a proxy for iq.
Look like much lower than reality.
