I discovered it with The Wolf's Corner. It's not that colorful and detailed, but it is an easy to digest format. Plus, he does highlight the brutality of the conflict and the stupid... sorry, _tactical genius_ of Lord Commander Fatas... Zuehlke. :-)
Kinda confused by how that breach was handled. I mean, they were at it for literal days, so why were they so slow to say "oh, they've deployed astartes? Send in the armor piercing weapons!" Grenadiers are supposed to be trained in specialized weaponry, so I would've thought that plasma guns and melta weapons would be called up almost immediately after the berserkers attacked. The troops above ground would have to surrender their specialist arms, but that seems a minor strategic inconvenience against putting down space marines occupying a key objective.
Arch, have you ever considered putting up your episodes on the podcast app for iPhone? I would love to listen to lore all the time, especially when I’m not on WiFi and can’t use UA-cam.
Under rated. Especially in podcast 2.0 compliant aps where key pictures could be included, and would switch as the podcast played. It would also expand his market/base.
I wonder how many death korpsmen dying to kill how many berserkers that died would be considered as a worthwhile trade for various people. And comparatively how it would've been for any other guardsman regiment, especially the more famous and/or elite ones.
You could almost imagine the smile on a death corps guardsmams face knowing that the new commander had decided up open the war for them into the third dimension. If you can imagine anything over the mouse of frantic digging, constant explosions, frequent screaming and carefully aimed counterfite amidst the sounds of panicking defenders. That he was not included in an oath of vengeance after a RETREAT (such cowardice, at least let the forward elements become rearguard martyrs via melts charged linked to their life signs) speaks volumes in how sure they were that the engineer corps will not be away fro the front lines any longer than duty requires. Indeed you could be almost fooled into thinking that any guardsmen would be tempted to salute for almost a moment longer than regulation requires before spotting the insignia of a loyal, valuable kriegsman and knowing better than to expect less than perfect adherence to proper protocol.
I love your lore videos on 40K. I have never played the game and do not plan on it, but your lore videos have inspired me to start buying and reading the novels!
Arch y u no put *all* videos of a playlist in said playlist? I missed this one. I mean, I found it going through looking for your VTM bloodlines lore vids - but still. As always - really enjoy your lore vids - very entertaining.
Nah, a boss rat has to find ways to get his minions to die, but a Kriegan commander has minions who want to find that bullet with their number. Both give as much of a damn, though...
listened to this while on the treadmill....you would think it wouldn't pump me up but I dont need that I need distraction! And boy did I get it :) good work! (Also I watched 40k theory's video on M41 timeline and....spoilers :( , not his fault, mine for not turning off the video)
I wonder if anybody had considered igniting the underground ammunition storages; an explosion of millions of shells, warheads and other volatile materials would blow out the floor under the Vraxian‘s feet. Then again, if one were to build storage facilities for half a galaxies worth of ordinance it stands to reason the the bunkers would be hardened against such a scenario...
Yeah so I got a lore question, how does having a storage planet like Vraks make sense? As in, would not all that equipment be needed somewhere across the galaxy? It confuses me. And why all the logistics to store stuff on Vraks, or was it on Vraks that they are produced?
I'd like to point out the obvious absurdity of this part. By digging to the enemy tunnel...you did the work for them. For all the work put in by the commander to save lives you'd think deploying some marines on rotations to protect the miners would have been an obvious move. Then when an attack occurs it should be fairly one sided. Plus given the lead up to this all the work gone into this would have been more than the Vrak forces should have been able to do for the same reason you elaborated in previous videos on how logistics works for military operations especially if the battles are happening above ground... I feel like this was just the one time that this should have just been a good idea that worked uncontested.

Arch, Vraks, and a fresh cup of coffee all in the same minute. I don't care if this paradise like moment is a foul trick of the warp or not. I like it, and I am going to enjoy it.
Don't know if you've seen it, but the Skaven vs LM DLC has been announced and looks amazing, Skaven getting their Under Empire!
Clearly there was a lack of heavy artillery underground.
Reminds me of a really good ww1 movie focusing on Australians from mining backgrounds put together to mine and counter mine the Germans on the Western Front called Beneath Hill 60
That was an excellent movie. Makes me proud of my ANZAC forebears.
Adam Redmayne that’s such a good movie
Thought it was Canadians?
Maybe that was another hill with a movie. Didn’t know the aussies showed up to WWI, I thought they phoned it in like WWII.
@@bkane573 Oh anzac did participate, but I think it was volunteers only, and mostly on other fronts instead of the western front.
The Kagori Plan is a lot better than the Kalergi Plan.
The engineers standard kit included infra red optics on their masks so they were very prepped for fighting in the dark, it’s in the siege of braid books
Man I Love this series! You are the best, Loremaster Arch
Just found im off from work on this friday.
Arch's Vraks notification pops up 5 seconds later.
It's true the Emperor really does protect the faithful!!!😭😭😭
A Vraks video and a Storytime with Arch mug full of hot chocolate, Fridays are wonderful!
Somehow listening to Siege of Vraks story became one of my favorite past times. The colorful and slightly brutal story telling plus that damn sexy voice ^^ Hats down to you dir sir. Wheeelll Done, whell done indeed.
Give me more!! More story!! More Waar!! Moore Blo... ekhm. Yes, yes do carry on ^^
I discovered it with The Wolf's Corner. It's not that colorful and detailed, but it is an easy to digest format. Plus, he does highlight the brutality of the conflict and the stupid... sorry, _tactical genius_ of Lord Commander Fatas... Zuehlke. :-)
Notices a new vraks video, DROPS EVERYTHING.
Ps. I am Alpharius
No I am alpharius
I don't believe you Omegon ;)
We are Alpharius
We are legion
i'm omegon
No I am Alpharius and so is my wife!!
I am gonna be honest, when you said that the Death Korps "carpet bombed" the enemy tunnels. Lovely people.
YESSS! I've been waiting for this all day

Some patrons get early access
@@samuelelliott6498 I didn't know that you could do that with UA-cam, thanks.
Time gets weird in the warp...
You forgot one other kreigg advantage. This is there home field. Underground combat is base for a kreigg guardsman.
32:28 Fighting underground is beneath a Space Marine
IT would be exclusively close quarters combat
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!!
That's when you just collapse the tunnel and make a new one.
@@eternalsentinel2089 You can't collapse a tunnel, IF YOUR HEAD IS ALREADY REMOVED!
Ever heard of a deadman switch?
Captain Garis can relate to the feeling when there is lava right above the diamonds you just mined...
only instead of lava it was a skeleton sized cave dragon.
1st showing of true Captain Marvel (SHAZAM for the young kids) or Arch video... ... ... guess I will be late for the movie.
Great Video👍 Can you make a Video about the Regiments of Tallarn and Catachan?
It will be great
Is it pronounced catacan or catachan
@@aaronbiduk813 Chan
Fridays are too far apart but that is a sacrifice I’m willing to make for such quality videos. Emperor be praised.
Here with my gasmask, my shovel, lasgun with bayonet ready to do some serious purging
Would it be inappropriate to yell "OH YEAH!" When you breach an enemy mine? Because if it is I'm not sure I can do this guys.
Every week man this makes my Friday. Cheers
One of the best series you have done yet my friend. I can hardly wait for every update.
That was a great video Arch
Arch, have you ever considered putting up your episodes on the podcast app for iPhone? I would love to listen to lore all the time, especially when I’m not on WiFi and can’t use UA-cam.
Under rated. Especially in podcast 2.0 compliant aps where key pictures could be included, and would switch as the podcast played.
It would also expand his market/base.
Pretty brutal tale, nice to hear that the lives of sappers doesn't change in the grimdark to modern day haha
Shotguns and flamers eh?
Sound like my kinda boys.
Arch y u no put *all* videos of a playlist in said playlist? I missed this one. I mean, I found it going through looking for your VTM bloodlines lore vids - but still.
As always - really enjoy your lore vids - very entertaining.
The noises of screaming, shouting, squelching, gun firing, chain axes reving, and chaos space marines roaring must've been utterly insane in 5546.
I’m more shocked at the thought of lasguns not having a natural flashlight attachment since it can do everything except press a panini
Oooooooo!! Pissed off Death Korps...
(Freshly made popcorn shrimp ready for munching for next episode!!!)
Thanks for these videos Arch! great entertainment. You should delve into more big battles like these more often
The closest we will get to Skaven style warfare in 40k.
Need more warp stones and green glow but yes
Nah, a boss rat has to find ways to get his minions to die, but a Kriegan commander has minions who want to find that bullet with their number. Both give as much of a damn, though...
just persuade the Vraksians to dress up as Night Goblins and the illusion will be perfect
When the _Death Korps of Krieg_ thinks that you are crazy, that is saying _something_ ! :/
Loved the vid Arch, by the way, have you seen the new Total war Warhammer DLC?
listened to this while on the treadmill....you would think it wouldn't pump me up but I dont need that I need distraction!
And boy did I get it :) good work!
(Also I watched 40k theory's video on M41 timeline and....spoilers :( , not his fault, mine for not turning off the video)
That feeling when GW wont let your krieg engineers deploy to the battlefield via mines anymore :
"Captain Garrus"
So, how many times did he need to calibrate the charges before detonating them?
Yes , it is Vraks o'clock .
Thank you Arch senpai , for making friday great :)
Damn fine job on this series Arch!
I was just thinking about why there wasn't another episode out yet. Good timing
You'd think a massive above ground push would be the perfect addition to this underground push.
I have been waiting all week for this very moment!!!!
Loving the outer music now Arch. Cant wait for the next episode
"Torrential downpours" both rain and shrapnel.
Yeah being hunted down by a korne space marine underground is possibly the most terrifying thing you could possibly imagine..
Vraksian Traitor: "WELCOME TO THE UNDERGROUND MUDAF---KA"
Kriegers: *ROARING AND SHOVEL SMACKING INTENSIFIES*
Yeah so I got a lore question, how does having a storage planet like Vraks make sense? As in, would not all that equipment be needed somewhere across the galaxy? It confuses me. And why all the logistics to store stuff on Vraks, or was it on Vraks that they are produced?
In case of black crusade-open planet.
Great job as always sir. Thank you again
