can't get my thumb over the top for the b minor so the question about hands being too small is real
Definitely. Another way to play it would be reaching your middle finger over to the 6th sting 4th fret. Then you have 6th string 4th. Muted 5th. Ring 4th string 4th fret and pinky 3rd string 4th fret. There is always a way :)
