Amazing driving, at those speeds and that level of commitment I would suggest a Roll Cage. For me clearly the other drivers were not at the same level, the Grey Type-R I was not sure saw you until you passed him.
You are living the dream : 1. Can fix the car at any time 2. Can abuse the car at any time 3. Can fix the car at any time 4. Can fart on camera at anytime ! Keep up the good work and loved the relaxed steering wheel movement. I think your next challenge is to make a lap ok the track in reverse !
Watching you on track makes me really want to take mine out once iv completed my engine rebuild, (Stage 3 S280 with bigger injectors hoping for circa 400bhp) have never been on track before but i think il be coming to this track as have watched you go round so many times now that im learning the track more and more just from watching your videos! Keep it up!
Like the way you stay nice and cool, looking back after the sideways trip at 100mph making sure no other cars coming your way. Cars still looking quick, keep it going . Cheers Russ...
Did well keeping up with that kit car on twisty’s! They do go well on track st180’s i am tempted to take mine on track but dont want to run into big repair bills if things start breaking
If you decide to take it to the track the best things you can do to save reliability are tires, cooling upgrades (mainly radiator and thermostat) and brakes (upgraded pads and fluid will go a long way).
Hi Steve, great bit of action packed track racing going on there., very exciting. Have you tried a pedal box between throttle pedal and ECU. May not make you faster overall but can play about with boost over 9 different settings which may allow you to get the power down quicker coming out of some of those bends.
Wasn't a thumbs up I was looking at my air con light and realised it was on. It distracted me enough that I messed the braking zone and the corner up. I don't know il have to listen again to the thud noise but hadn't heard it.
1.19.08 was my best. The 1.24 was a warm up lap. 😉 The focus was better handling but was lighter and I had more yrs fine tuning it to how I liked but the fiesta is still fun.
Nice driving and neat setup! Do your car still lifts it inner rear wheel during tight corners? I got the Bilstein B14 for mine and find the car less fun, it does not rotate as well as before etc. it has simply become too fast and too planted (no 3 wheeling). It has lost a bit of it hot hatchness. Also feels like it has lost its predictability. So I am now running stock suspension again with 16 wheels and sticky rubber for track work, although it now feels like the tire grip has overcome the chassis, and I get too much 3 wheeling madness, almost afraid of rolling... Do you think the Meisterrs would be the best of two worlds or are those also tuned for the fastest lap times? Perhaps I just can't have the best of two worlds.
@@Sparkplugsteve I have no clue and it's seems to be their little secret, impossible to find. They should be progressive thought, haven't been a fan of progressive springs in the past. Maybe I'll have to go with a good set of adjustable dampers.
You've never driven a Caterham then, GG? They are so light a d planted the brakes are almost immaterial. It passed Steve like he was standing still and always seemed to leave him on the corners and surprisingly on the straights. Looks to me he just let Steve past after proving he had nothing left to prove.
james jack I’ve driven them many times thanks. The Caterham was clearly the faster car, but the point I was making was that the caterham seemed to loose a lot of ground in the bends allowing Steve to close the gap before the Caterham accelerated out again. My take on that was either a lack of confidence in the driver coming into bends, or better brakes and technique on the fiesta, but I reserve the right to be wrong 😄 👍🏻
@@Sparkplugsteve I raced an xr2 at castle coomb and I ran 1 deg neg camber and more toe out than it Should have also get some corner weight gauges and check corner weights
My set up considerably more aggressive than that. I'm 3 degrees camber and 2mm toe out. Every track day indo I change something so eventually il be happy. Maybe 😂
Really great driving, you were on it!! Keeping up with the Catherham until he gave up and let you past was cool. And you made the Type R Civic look dog slow!!!!

Thanks Steve for taking us out, nice driving mate.
ohhh .... look at Steve showing off as he approaches the finish line ..... what a lad!
Great save great driving loved it.🏎
Good save.
Well held with that slide.

Great content thanks for sharing
Great driving Steve!

nice drive Steve, what did you think of the EBC pads on track?, any brake fade at all.
Iv not used them in track yet. This video is from last month.

Nice work to stick with the Caterham. You're much braver on the brakes than he was!
Giving a thumbs up then spiiinnnnnnnn lol. What was the thudding noise at the end if the tyres were ok?

1.24 not bad going around coombe. My mate with his supercharged civic r done a 1.23 with 370bhp.
How does the fez compare to the ST 170?

Very good going. That's a fast lap👍
Always a bit of a worry about slamming into the pit wall there

What spring rates were in the b14?

So you pretty much did an involuntary scandinavian flick there, but with rear tires without the grip already when started :D
What was the knocking at the end?
My heart beating.
The Caterham had the legs on you, but you obviously had the better brakes and muffed him in the bends 👍🏻

I really enjoyed the ride Steve, thanks for the video.
What handling set up you got Steve??
Hi meister r coilovers and ar1 tyres. I did have roll centre and bumpsteer correction in this video but its had to be removed now.
@@Sparkplugsteve you happy with the coil overs ? I can't decide what ones to put on my st.
Na not really. Their too budget and don't feel very controlled.
You must have shit a brick Steve 🤣🤣🤣
stay safe all.........
This was class, good driving man👍
EPIC Steve loved watching that, the wee ST can really hold its own when well set up....😉🥳🥳🥳🥳🥰
All that tyre squeal is telling me it wants a different set up
The ar1 do squeel more than any tire I've tried before. But I'm open to help on a setup if you got one.

It's nice to go sideways once in a while Steve 😁. Nice smooth and relaxed driving which always leads to a nice clean fast lap 👌👌
Hey Steve good video did a wee bit of poo 💩 come out lol😂😂 good the cars ok 👌
The Caterham couldn't shake you and ended up giving up
