These "greedy sickos" are relieving pain for millions of people. These mediums are "grief-be-gone vampires", saying super-specific, unguessable, accurate anecdotes and reminiscences that relieve the pain of loss. The more specific and unresearchable the data, the more pain-relieving the readings are.

Interesting talk, my main issue is with his brief overview details regarding the Margery mediumship (Mina Crandon) and Houdini. It's a vast study, one that I myself have tried exceptionally hard to get to grips with via locating "origional" views, opinions and sources as best one can given the time past. That Margery was angry that Houdini exposed her isn't accurate, Houdini spent much more time angry than Margery did. The box in which Margery was secured, specially designed by Houdini, was supposed to guarentee that she would not be able to move, keepong in mind the controls in place. Her hands where also held by the investigators. She was absent from the room during the set up, Houdini had complete control and also control over the scientists involved. Margery spirit communicator, Walter Stinson, her deceased brother, was said to have spoke from a point in space independant of Margery and the investigators and hurled abuse at Houdini (the poke in the eye that Paul says is lacked) for having tampered with the bell mechanism. When the investigators examined the mechanism a piece of rubber had indeed been forced under the ringer to prevent it ringing! Where by Walter in colourful language demanded that Houdini get the hell out of his séance room. Also on another occasion Walter announced, again from a point in space seperate from Margery and the inveatigators, that Houdini had placed an extendable ruler in the cabinet... Houdini denied it, but, his assistant was on record as saying that Houdini wanted to stitch her up good and proper. Houdini has promised a vast sum of money to anyone who could prove communication with the here-after, his career and wealth was faultering, the money was too great to loose and he had recently toured to derail spiritualism. The tour was not a huge earner! He could not disprove her, that is the amazing thing about Margery! She split the entire psychical research specialists down the middle, they couldn't simply say fraud because they diacovered it - instead it was fraud by default because they couldn't explain how she did it... Even worse. "The Great Houdini" (egotistic control freak that he was) hated that he was being duped by a simple girl from Boston that surpassed many of the tests to such a degree that he himself had to result in interfering with the experiments to prevent them from working.
I type this because everyone, today more than ever, is happy to hear the words of this magician and accept them as truth - but I say that when you study the "actual case" even in a little more detail you will find it - regardless of whether you are a sceptic or not - you will find it truly fascinating!

+Warren James To address your very specific points would take longer than the entire talk, and 15 minutes were cut from that here. The gist is correct, in that Magery was a fraud, whether or not you have issues regarding Houdini's ego - that is not what is being discussed here. If you have any hard evidence regarding Mina Crandon actually being 'psychic', then please present it, rather than nitpicking with regard to a talk which was presented as an overview of a vast and complex subject.

+Houdini2323 This is one of the things that Paul Zenon missed from his talk. The problem with famous debunkers - Houdini, Harry Price, etc - is that they are mortal. After the debujnker has died, the spiritists get to write the history, and they change all the facts. Suddenly, the debunker becomes the villain, and the fake medium was genuine all along. Warren James has just given us a perfect example of this. The bell didn't ring not because Margery was exposed as a fake who leached off the bereaved, but that Houdini was short of money, and he wedged something into the bell's mechanism. Houdini, of course, is no longer around to defend himself. Watch what the spiritists get up to when James Randi keels over.

Several reasons, the people doing the eavesdropping are probably part of the crew so have a vested interest they also probably have a written contract that forbids them from detailing any of the methods used and they would likely get sued, but even if someone did say they used to eaves drop for Sally the people who believe this stuff would just accuse them of lying, and the people that don't believe it are just going to be like, yeah we know.

Maybe the best place for this tired speech is Bulgaria.
"Susan, Steven, Samantha?" That would never fly today. Nobody would pay for that shit. Has Paul Zenon guy ever seen Thomas John live, or Monica the Medium or Matt Fraser? They're so much more specific than that. It's more like "Who's Gary and did he have a funeral close to your relative's funeral?" Zenon is saying that audience members are so dumb that they only get fed information that they wrote on a piece of paper beforehand or spoke into a microphone hidden in the audience? Nobody would pay for that shit. This entire speech is so dated, so mired in 1950's mentalist tricks, so in need of an update.
These 1950's mentalist techniques would never fly today in a Thomas John group reading.
What's so sad is that this guy Zenon isn't doing the hard investigative work of figuring out how Thomas John can give accurate, unguessable, unresearchable, unFacebookable information about relatives who have passed fifty years ago, including meaningful, high-stakes anecdotal memories not found online or anywhere.
-"Did you hold your pregnant sister's hand while she was dying from suicide" Yes. (--Thomas John, group reading, 2019).
-"Did your nephew Kyle die in a car accident by a drunk driver from Lodi, Wisconsin?" Yes. (--Thomas John, group reading 2018. Sorry, there's no online news item about this tragic -incident from the 1990's, and each of the women there had different married names than the deceased.)
-"Did you take your father to only one baseball game his entire life the day he was diagnosed with Alzheimers?" Yes. (--Thomas John, private reading 2019 to someone without Facebook.)
-"Did your uncle wear Old Spice and collect German clocks in the 1970's? Yes. (2017)
This shit isn't on Facebook or Intellius. This shit isn't spoken into a hidden microphone in the audience, or then typed on a scrolling piece of paper. Thomas John is clearly not wearing an earpiece or being fed information. This isn't generalized information. This stuff isn't random guesses with a 50 percent accuracy. He even does it for private readings where the person selected is changed at the last minute before the reading and it's still super-specific, accurate and incredible. Thomas John now has a long run show in Las Vegas at Caesar's Palace. So just no.
Here's a Thomas JOhn blind reading hosted by a respected grief counselor and community leader. ua-cam.com/video/crRJX6h5cDo/v-deo.html
Here's Thomas John on Windy City Live where audience members aren't required to give their names for tickets. ua-cam.com/video/wIgqndrXGGU/v-deo.html (Note the comments underneath where the randomly selected participant vouches for its authenticity and has no public Facebook page.)

      Jesu Spectre.
I watched the UA-cam videos you posted and I saw the same tired old cold reading techniques I’ve seen before. Derren Brown is so much more proficient and convincing at that stuff than Thomas John.
Watch the UA-cam video “Derren Brown Fools Psychic Readers & Talks To The Dead.”
Brown openly states that he possesses no psychic powers whatsoever.
Please tell me what Thomas John is doing that is so different to the hundreds of other psychics, that makes him so convincing, because to me, he’s just doing the same old stuff.
I have a couple of questions for you. Why is Bulgaria the best place for Zenon’s tired speech?
Are you suggesting that, because the mentalist techniques of the 1950s wouldn’t work today, that people in the 1950s were more gullible, or that genuine psychics have only turned up recently?........because Thomas John appears to be using EXACTLY the same techniques that have always been used. If you watch his videos, you can clearly see him using them, just as you can see Derren Brown using the same said techniques.

What about the literally FUCKING HUNDREDS of super-specific, unguessable, un-presumable, un-cold-readable, accurate, unresearchable unFacebookable shit he comes up with every night at Caesar's Palace? The reviews are so positive about his specificity that they almost drown out the scripted ones copied and pasted from the Center for Inquiry, an organized atheist group who posts there every day, (they post reviews even though they haven't seen his show.) . These people are online savvy and know what's out there, and they're saying "There's no way he could know that my sister died from a fall off a building."

@@Kerlumsyboy You thoroughly researched Thomas John? Or you watched one video and are making a broad statement? You simply cannot be this stupid.
Thomas John says a mixture of things that are 1) searchable 2) unsearchable 3) guessable 4) unguessable 5) general 6) so specific they are undeniably from the dead. But you can't cherry pick only the searchable things and scream, "He says ONLY searchable guessable, cold-readable, generalized things." People will cart you off to a looney bin. It's obvious. Thomas John is saying things that are so specific that participants are saying "how did he know that?" And trust me, people know what's on their own Facebook page. Thomas is saying specific things like, "Is your brother an alcoholic and was recently diagnosed with cancer?" Um, unless you're a blind goon, everyone knows you can't find that on Facebook, or anywhere else. You can't find this shit online.
In fact, his information is so specific and so proven accurate and so unsearchable and so unguessable, that the atheists are scared. Some of Thomas John's information is so specific, unsearchable and unguessable that the atheists are abandoning their "Facebook research" conspiracy, and then jumping to other methods like "ear pieces" where he's fed information, and "hiring actors" and "he only calls on his friends." I've never seen such a bunch of desperate, blind atheistic fools.

You’re right, I’m simply not that stupid.
I don’t need to do any research on Thomas John because you’ve done it for me.
      A. You’ve chosen the very best example of a psychic reader and
      B. You’ve posted two videos which, presumably, are two perfect examples that demonstrate his genius.
As I said in my first post, Derren Brown uses the same techniques to much better effect. He’s just as “specific” as Thomas John.
Of course a bereaved parent isn’t going to participate in a scam. A bereaved parent is going to be so vulnerable, so steeped in grief, so looking for insight and connection that they will talk to anyone whom they feel may give them some answers.
      So, to quote you.......
“Susan, Steven, Samantha ?That simply wouldn’t fly today”
      To quote Thomas John
“Jeff or Jess or Jenn ?”
( Why the deceased girl doesn’t just say
MY NAME IS JENN, I don’t know)
So, Jeff, or Jess or Jenn clearly flies with you, presumably.
      Other quotes......
“Would there be a dog in spirit that passed ?”
“She knew this person died, right ?”
“Did you have white flowers ?”
“Were you in the room with her ?”
“Even though she’s passed, you think about her and stuff ?” Is that true ?”
      “ a blue eyed baby ?”
      “Is someone moving house?”
“Do you hang something on a tree”
“I feel like your daughter is unbelievable.”
“I don’t know if your husband was sort of like you know he was told you know hey you know......did he have more of a role in that ?”
“You did end up donating the organs, right ?”
      “No, they took them”
      ( I don’t know why Jenn didn’t tell him that )
“Do you have a piggy bank ?”
      “I don’t know if I’m talking about 16, 16 years ago, an age ?”
      “Her age”
      “She passed at 16 ?”
      “Yes”
      ( Why didn’t Jenn tell him )
“She may use numbers to communicate with you”
( It seems that Jenn is sometimes very specific, but most of the time ridiculously generalised )
“I don’t know if this is the living world or the passed world” “Michael”
      “Yes, a couple” ( Of Michaels )
“These were just people who she was close to, or something ?”
      “Family”
“Was she close to them at all ?”
“ He’s still in the living world, right ?”
“Would she know the Michael that died..No? “
      “Yes”
“I’m losing that connection. I’m not sure if she’s talking about someone she’s with”
( Ask her Thomas, ask her )
“Ohhhhhh, so your brother Michael has passed ?”
There are dozens of examples like that.
Thomas asks her hundreds of questions. I thought HE was supposed to be telling HER stuff.
51 minutes of generalised waffle by an expert cold reader and five seconds of vaguely credible statements.
The grieving mother had a golden opportunity to ask a question that only she and her daughter knew the answer to.......and she didn’t ask.
There are some statements which do sound impressive, but as I’ve said, Derren Brown is much better at it than Thomas.

      Jesu Spectre
      Hi again,
I’ve taken your advice and done some research on Thomas John.
I’ve discovered that he is a convicted felon. A fraudster.
I’ve discovered a video that totally exposes him as a Facebook psychic.
I’ve now seen a few videos of him doing very poor, clumsy cold readings where he is so generalised in his questioning. He, like ALL psychics, throws out scattergun questions until he gets a hit, then he hones in. As in all readings, the person gives HIM the information, not the other way round.
If he could talk to the dead, he would only need to ask questions of the dead person, not the living. Instead of giving a long list of uninterrupted completely accurate information ( like one does when one talks to someone ) he stumbles around in the dark until the living person gives HIM some facts.
Far from being out of date, Paul Zenon’s video is deadly accurate in its analysis of these snake oil salesmen, preying on the vulnerable. The tricks and techniques never change, so whether it’s the 1950s or 2020, it doesn’t matter.
If Thomas John can talk to dead people, why doesn’t he win James Randi’s ONE MILLION DOLLAR challenge and donate all the money to bereavement charities?
Only two types of people believe psychics.....desperate people who are devastated by bereavement........
and people with no critical faculty whatsoever.
I’m still interested to hear your answers to my questions.
      Best,
      K.
