Man- this is a great video. Thanks for posting. I had a battery mishap and blew my main fuse on my starter solenoid, replaced that, and decided to clean my air filter while I'm at it. Thanks for posting!
Awesome instructional video. I've seen some other vids but this is by far the most informative step by step video. Thx for sharing. I think I'll change the air filter myself this weekend instead of bringing it the shop.
Thanks for your video. Managed to get the tank off and filter clean relatively quick. It went much easier than i expected. My only difference was that my gas tank only had 3 lines coming off of it rather than 5 on my 07 650 :S
HyperTechnical I think he had two more lines because it is the California model. They have really high emissions standards. I have an 08 and it had three connections to the tank.
Thanks for the video! Quick question, does the fuel tank need to be completely empty before removing it? I don't want to find out the hard way by disconnecting everything and having gas run all over my bike.
You don't need to have a completely empty tank, but having most of the fuel gone will make lifting the tank and overall job easier due to less weight. There is no risk of having gas run out unless you completely flip the tank upside down. Sorry for the late reply!
How lazy can you get, I'd rather save the money, plus you save even more time by not going to get a new filter, or waiting for it to arrive. Although I'm fitting a new one myself lol, and it's much more expensive :) but it is a DNA performance filter to compliment the Scorpion end can I'm fitting.
@@HalfdeadRider Yeah I can't see how spending 10 min to oil the filter, and 20 min to clean it took more time than driving to the store buying it and driving back unless the store is next door hehe.
Nvm jus saw the comment below, but do you think this would help if my bike won't hit top sppeed? It tops out at about 80 mph with the throttle fully cranked and is very jerky like it gets some power for a second
Nearly a decade, and this video was so helpful, thanks for your service 😀7

Glad it was helpful!
Hello. Thanks for the tutorial! Swapped out my 10 yr old filter for a performance filter. Riding clean!

excellent video, no bull shit, straight to the point yet still detailed
Wow dog. perfect vid. No Unnecessary BS. Quick and simple steps
from what i know, the oil helps to trap and keep the dirt particles better than a dry filter itself.
Thanks bro, helped out alot, I only had 2 hoses to undo, kinda odd
Awesome video..very helpful. What do you do when the filter is turning into dust? Where can I get some of that foam crap?
Appreciate the straightforward vid 👍👍
I would’ve never found that if you hadn’t of posted this lol
I get the idea of having it saturated in motor oil, but what about pros and cons? Wouldn't putting a clean & dry filter be better?
Gonna try this. I’ll get back to you when I’m done 😂
Went you unplug the fulling line what happens is the part that i'm worry, what do I have to do please answer
Sorry for responding so late. You will get a little bit of fuel spillage, but not too much. Just have a rag or old-shirt ready to soak up the fuel.
Awesome straight to the point vid. Thank u
Big thank you for the tutorial is was very usefull pleasa add more such videos in the future
What happens if you don't put oil in the filter, should be ok right?

You should make a video flushing the coolant.
awesome video! thanks a bunch
Can one use synthetic oil also or does it need to be dead dinosaurs?
How does the seat come off?. I don't want to break anything
used this to do mine thanks!
How often do you clean the air filter? That filter was dirtier than that pair of underpants, GREAT VIDEO BTW
I'd think every 6 months would be pretty reasonable, depending on the conditions you ride in. Underpants also work great for waxing!
Very good video. Thanks
Much appreciated!
great video well explained thanks!
awesome! glad it was helpful!
Is it the same procedure for Kawasaki Z1000 07?
the red stripes on your wheels are they reflective or not?? and what is the width of the stripes???
Thank you!
he used his tighty whiteys! i'm dead!
Lol
how come all i have is an electrical wire and that fuel line with the red tab?
You probably have a different model. But that's less work for you!
yes!
is it a stock air fliter?
Is that a underwear. Did you put the filter on top of the underwear.
Came here for this. 😂😂😂 "What are those!!!"
I just said the same thing … I was going to comment but you beat me to the punch 😅
Do you have to put oil on it?
I think so, mine was oily when it came out. I did some research and people did it for this bike. Not sure about others though
Thanx Man
Does the tank have to be empty?

it doesn't have to be, but the decreased weight surely makes the job a lot easier!
+Joseph Hauser this is an inexpensive procedure so I'd definitely try it first. if u have clogged or dirty fuel filter, that can also cause low power
bloody hell...it's almost as complicated as getting to the bloody carbs....!!!!!
kunjidee no carbs fuel injected
Helpfull super A.
i actually don't know...the bike came with it. try ninja650.com?
how to remove the seat
you insert the key into a keyhole underneath the rear fairing/seat
Super helpful! Thanks!!!
