Lowered Honda CB500X: Fixing the Creaky Rear Suspension

This CB 500X has been ridden about 8000 miles since it was lowered and on its last long trip it developed a creak in the rear suspension. we are going to be inspecting the rear suspension and checking out the lowering link to see if we can find the source of the creak, and fix the problem.

Hi Joseph. Thanks for posting the video. I just had a look on Amazon. There are two kinds of lowering kits for a 2013 cb500x. One has new linkage and replacement bushes like the one you were servicing. The other has two replacement triangular mounting plates. It keeps the original linkage and offers 1.2 or 2" lowering. Do you think the latter would be safer and more reliable as it keeps the Honda linkage and bushes? Thanks Paul
