As always, great advice Anna. To a monochrome look I tend to pop it with a colorful bag. Since red is "hot" right now a red or burgundy bag cannot go wrong! Or orange...orange looks fabulous with an all white or cream outfit. Mwah.
Most of my clothing items are simple and classic, so I love adding accessories. I love all categories of them, jewelry, handbags, belts, and especially, silk scarves. I also always very up to date footwear, out of style or “granola” (orthopedic or hippie styles) make an outfit look ancient. I’m always amazed at how many truly ugly shoes are still offered for sale in the name of “comfort”. All my shoes have to be comfortable, that’s essential, but current and stylish, too. There’s no need to wear clodhoppers, even with foot problems, I certainly have my share of those, too.
Agreed! It takes a little extra time to find the cute and comfy shoes but they are out there! ❤️
I totally agree, a lot of "comfort" shoes are just poorly designed, there's no need for them to look frumpy. I invested in Hobbs Imogen boots for the past two years, so comfortable and stylish and I have wide feet with bunions, bought more in the sale in different colours, I hope they will last for a few years. Other comfortable suede boots I bought last year are from Dune, , they had a great sale on and (surprise!) Carvela, more comfortable than flats, and I hadn't worn heels for years. I'm petite so I love the extra height.

P.S. Allow me please to give a tip! They sell velcro dots. I will use them to make my belt stay in place. I hope that makes sense. It'll keep your belt from sticking out or having to do the knot thing. Hope this helps❤
I haven’t seen those! I normally use double sided tape but I like the idea of Velcro! ❤️❤️
@ANNAREID29 it works great & doesn't damage your belts. I usually get the round ones from dollar tree in the crafting section.
I dislike my belt sticking out- in fact, I recently loss some weight and several belts now stick out like that, so I can’t wear them unless I do something to keep the excess part of the belt from “sticking out.” I have found a same color safety pen works well (sort of as a belt loop to hold the belt together tightly). Thanks for your tip- the Velcro dots seem like that’s a better option.

Great points, Anna. For the last few years, I was all over the place, meaning in all kind of styles, but what it does, it’s not good for cost per wear. Like right now, I am selling so many Chanel outfits, mainly dresses, that I worn only a few times, because with certain types like themes, Greece, etc… it’s just too memorable, and especially the ones more form fitting, so that’s not good.i am kind of realizing I want more classic, and those stays. I have some 7-8 years, and still wear time to time. So mainly I am going back to classic but more edgy, like Old Celine Phoebe Philo, and of course her new brand. Those things are more unique, and can be worn forever. I still will keep some color ones, like red , blue, and maybe one very muted pink, the rest I am getting rid of, and replacing with classic but edgy fashion forward . Yes to accessories, it makes such a huge difference to the outfits.. Have a blessed day🙏❤️

I’m curious if the off shoulder top pops up when you move your arms? I got a navy one last summer that I was so excited about with white stripes, and it only stayed put if my arms were straight down. I couldn’t even put a fork to my mouth without the top flipping up around my neck and it just drove me crazy so I never wore it. I would tailor it if I knew if it was possible.
Your hair looks gorgeous and you always look young and amazing in double denim. I call my style modern classic or modern chic, I'm 58 and I don't think I'll ever wear a ladylike outfit from top to bottom, it would make me look so old! I always add a modern twist, for example pussybow blouse with jeans, formal jacket with a Gucci vintage Mickey Mouse necktie (my only designer item and a keeper). Scarves (e.g. Hermes style) can look way too formal and old so I avoid them. I invest in great footwear that is comfortable (I have wide feet) and elegant but also current. Lots of structured handbags promoted by influencers look so boring and old, no thanks! I have structured handbags that look modern and timeless, usually in suede. I stay slim (no middle age spread around my tummy) as weight is very ageing, and I keep my hair longish, no ageing short cuts for me. I don't wear elasticated waists as they make you way too comfortable and encourage overeating. I'll wear (double) denim until I'm dead! I have a collection of amazing denim shirts/skirts/skirt dresses/jackets/tote bags and jeans. Thank you for your videos love Anna, best wishes from a very cold London x
Some women, look fresher and more youthful with short hairstyles. It makes them look perkier and gives the face a much needed lift. Structured bags are not always boring and dated looking, and what suits one person may not suit another.

Many people have had too much repetition with Capsule Wardrobe closets. One issue is every outfit essentially looks the same. Of course every wardrobe needs the basics in slacks, tops, and shoes to mix the color with.

Anna, have you thought about switching your beige sandals you were wearing with the black vest and beige Pokadot white skirt with black sandals similar in style with the beige pair. In that way you will bookend your outfit in black.

Ehhh not sure Olivia and Victoria are good fashion role models. The reason nothing looks too tight on them (as you pointed out) is because even a size 00 is baggy on their malnourished frames 😢

Being thin does not mean you’re malnourished. It means the calories you intake are balanced with the calories you use.
I find it difficult to pinpoint celebrities that most everyone has heard of that consistently dress in a way that shows their own personal style. But I would love to hear suggestions! ❤️
Thin-shaming is as unpleasant and uncalled-for fat-shaming and usually based on jealousy. Worry about your own weight and health, not other people's
PS A lot of overweight people are malnourished, that's why they're always hungry, they eat junk food that is very high in calories, addictive, but doesn't offer the vitamins, minerals and nutrients their body and brain need. Overweight people are not to blame because there's so much bad /false information around food, and from doctors/health professionals too. However most of us now know that processed food is unhealthy and addicting, so we need to outsmart the processed food industry by eating wholefoods. I would recommend the Physicians Committee's non-profit YT channel for great advice. Carrying excess weight is not just a vanity issue, it is not healthy. I am a nutritionist and weight loss coach who has successfully overcome years of yo-yo dieting and bingeing and being overweight by eating wholefoods. I have achieved and maintained my very slim frame for years without cravings or even much exercise and I'm way way more healthy than when I was overweight. I feel amazing, look good in clothes and all blood tests, etc. are perfect. I have dropped "friends" that made comments like yours (they're still obese).

I have a light flowy trenchcoat in a soft mint green. It goes with everything and I get compliments on it every time I wear it.
