  • FiddleHed is the fun way to learn fiddling online!
    I made some “Learning Chunks” on the FiddleHed site to help you do this. These focused exercises contain sheet music, tabs and mp3 snippets to guide you on each step of your fiddle journey.
    These and all new lesson pages can be viewed for one week after publication with a FREE trial membership. Check it out here: fiddlehed.com
    And after you sign up, I’ll also send you a mini-course of lessons specially designed for your skill level.
    Alrighty. Play every day, have fun 😀 and thanks for making music 🙏
    Now, go fiddle with it...

    My son has been taking violin lessons for a few years- he's 10 - and I played him a version of this doing with a girl fiddling and buck dancing (gotta learn that!) and so now he's singing softly to him self "her teeth are crooked and her legs are bowed, but she sure is a lot of fun...". So cute. Anyway we went through this lesson today, thank you sir. We sing "get along lady John" however.

    You know what's crazy mr. fiddlehead? I just found out about Mr Chance McCoy and the Appalachian String Band and I heard their version of this song and loved it but I actually heard gospel plow by him first and loved it also but anyway now you're giving lessons on it yay!! I'm almost 2 years into playing the fiddle now and I'm absolutely in love with this instrument thank you for your lessons and your excellent teaching techniques. I've learned many songs from you sir!!

    I'm trying to learn this song on my guitar and banjjo and I stumbled upon this Lazy John video. This video is amazing even for learning banjo. I am intending to be able to accompany fiddles and jam and this style of video is amazing for me in that purpose.
    Keep up the great work.

      Thanks, Gary. We fiddle players appreciate you guitar and banjo players. Glad these are helpful! Cheers.

    This is a great website you have! I'm a cellist, but so much of what you teach carries easily over to the "Big Fiddle," as the Scots call it. I've learned a ton in just a few days, and I've been telling friends ("wee fiddlers") about the site. Please keep it up!

    For anyone who can utilize their fourth finger: It’s easier to use the pinky for the E on the A string instead playing the E string

    • @gutbucket260
      @gutbucket260 4 роки тому

      Play the pinkie on the A and the open E to get a fuller sound.

    What a fun song, and just at the right level of complexity for me. I always love your calm teaching style. I did have a question. The fingering graphic shows that the last note of the first half is E, but I think it's B. Am I wrong about that?

    • @fiddl3hed
      @fiddl3hed  2 роки тому

      Yes, thanks Alicia, it should be B.

      Jason did you know we have a FIddleHed Facebook page? There is a request event going on there this week. Go there, look for the post about the request event and list Gospel Plow. If it is in the top five, it might be the next video.
